  1. IIRC on the focus, the battery box is in the middle of the hood. I did a big three setup on a 4 dr focus and the shock tower was like 5" from the battery box. very convenient.
  2. its gonna be super light, super strong, and super loud. (assuming its a good design on the box... but i highly doubt it will be bad )
  3. it also doesnt list the refresh rate... it could show you the voltage every 10 seconds.... and that wouldn't do much for you.. not to mention all the other stuff said ^^^^^ up there
  4. sounds like a phase issue to me. and out of phase sub can take away almost 100% of your bass
  5. 7ply is awesome and superlight... helps a shit load... and lol Mr.P you are such an advocate for birch! hehe. you are so right though
  6. you should be able to look it up. but hifonics amps have very poor efficiency, meaning that they require more power to make power for the speaker\sub.
  7. i've always run pioneer and they have yet to disappoint... so i wholeheartedly recommend pioneer
  8. that's right. and make sure you get your ring terminals. and solder them, don't crimp and make sure you run the wire in a good location in the engine bay and don't just leave it hangin - zip tie it down keep it away from heat the difference is amazing and 150% worth it bro.
  9. i figure if you can bounce the sound off the glass in the hatch, use it as a horn, it would be louder. with a proper box. glass is sonically reflective
  10. i was at school, photobucket is blocked, so i couldn't see it.
  11. tis true, box is everything. and every woofer in nature moves some sort of air.
  12. if you have a wire kinked, it might break the strands in it and cause it to be less conductive.
  13. no the exposport calc is right, you have to put that you want 3 common port walls for a slot port... that's also in the FAQ... the RE calc isn't right... so reading>you
  14. everything in car audio ... is always you get what you pay for. if you don't pay a lot for something, it will be a shitty piece of equipment. do what you want to do. but next time, don't come on here for opinions on something and then act like you don't want to hear it.
  15. don't buy it. that amp doesn't make anywhere near rated power. and the power it does make, it probably will only do it for a week before it self-destructs.
  16. yeah, by a long shot. good speakers, plus good wire and a (decent) amp in the aftermarket head unit will outperform the bose setup. especially if you have an external amp on the mids and highs... it will make a big difference. edit: I think factory bose setups are not so great IMO. i think good aftermarket stuff certainly is better. and aren't bose speakers lower impedence than the normal stock speakers?
  17. if james is setting up your stuff you'll be fine... get the 2200
  18. you either have to buy an adapter to let the head unit use the factory bose amp or you have to replace all the speakers and run new wire to them. personally i'd put new speakers in... anything aftermarket will blow the bose shit away...
  19. no. the 2200 is good for 2 HDC3s. unless you know what you're doing, leave the hifonics in.
