    Are you adding the port width numbers together in the calc, since you are having 2 ports and all? Since whatever the width for one is there will be an identical one on the other side. For one sub in one chamber though, one port is the best.

    I'll respond, haha. When you're drilling the magnet, the swarf/filings will clog the gap on your magnet and screw it up. I don't know how to remedy this, maybe removing the top plate? Someone else needs to jump in and help. BTW, how did they strip out during shipping?

    You'll be pushing it to do so, even if you increase the bottom length. You can either sell the 18" and get a 15" or wall off the trunk and build the whole trunk as a box or go sealed. BTW, instead of posting several times in a row, just use the edit function.

    lol, yeah, epic fail by me, haha. I had two tabs open with this and I thought they were different threads, and screwed up, haha. I have modeled a BTL 15" in bassbox pro and it actually did pretty good in a small box. But it would probably need 4K in the box. Still, yeah, 15" instead of 18". I bet I look like a real twit after failing, haha.

    Depends what sub he is using, some 18"s won't mind a 6 cube box (but that's after displacement, you'll have only like 4.8 after everything, too small), but yeah, probably better off with sealed or using a 15". It would probably be louder with a 15" in the same amount of space. If he already has the sub he'll have to use it though. Lol, just realized it is a trunk box, I thought it was a hatch back, in which case he could have a taller box. Definitely go for a 15".

    What front angle? you mention the top and bottom being the same size? I'm guessing that's a typo. I can help if you want.

    It's probably better to just buy a shorter one. It may lose some of its strength and noise screening properties. It isn't hard to do though, just not much point.

    Yep, unless you can squeeze more room out of the back. Depends how big you build the box in the first place, the suggested boxes for the lvl 2 10"s are 0.5 cubes sealed and 1 cube ported. For the SA 8"s you might want to have 0.8-1 cube per sub if it is ported. I'd use both, the screws to support it and the glue to stop it from wiggling.

    Just a quick model of it, the depth is 5 as it makes it an average of what it would be. As you can see there is far too much port area and not enough box volume. EDIT: lol, just remembered the second depth box still too small with too much port though.

    Oh, really tight on space then. Yeah through the rear deck should be louder anyway.

    Just don't tell him and noone will ever know, lol. I'm pretty sure it won't make too much difference, and evenif it does, as long as he isn't after mean SQ or doing a SPL burp box it shouldn't matter. Yep, good sketchup, and nice box, I see I have some competition, haha.

    Haha, yeah, you could do a port like the DD boxes. Out the side of the box instead of on the front.

    That's probably about as low as you want to go. You don't want less port area if they are being overpowered, that just increases the chance of port noise, you want less box volume. But yeah, I'm pretty sure he won't mind if the port is on one side of the box.

    You want. The biggest, squarest port you can get. So go for the second option, the first will most likely cause port noise and the last is a bit dodgy too. What's your port area per cubic foot?

    Remember you also need wires and a box and some other stuff I'm forgetting at the moment. But yeah, don't modify the box, do it once do it right you know.
