Usaci style (door open and sensor on the kick) it´s definitly the loudest way to meter a car, personally i´ve only metered one of my cars this way and i think it´s dumb, meca it´s the most difficult but the most realistic also since the sensor is placed exactly where you hear your system when you are in the car driving or demoing it, db drag it´s the one they call "legal" , it´s sealed with the sensor on the dash. Personally, i meter the cars most of the times with driver´s door open and sensor on the windshield since that´s the way we bass race over here

Dont get 45´s , rounding over with PVC worked way better for me, it´s also easier if you don´t have a table saw or something like that , just cut a 4" pvc tube into 4 pieces, use 2 of them for those corners and sell the other two lol

You are right my friend, but i´m pretty sure it´s subs back/port back since he has double baffle without the top plate of the box attached yet

I would only use them on the pressure points of the box , if you use 45´s on the back corners i think you would mess a little bit with the airflow since the opening isn´t that big, i would use them here only if it´s a sub back/port back box, if it´s a sub up/port back box then it´s totally different

Exactly 2 dbs lower on mine also the last time i tried MECA vs DB Drag, 149.4 vs 147.5 iirc

45´s suck ass IMO, after i tested them i said i´ll never use them again on a daily box. About my idea, well, i totally understand your point about your application been way different than mine, but if you guys have gotten way better results with the triangle instead of my idea, why bother? Orion, you already got GREAT inputs, this is a one side decision for sure now, no reason for me to test this so i can help you out making a decision, but now you got me very curious lol, i wanna try that triangle in a box with the squared tip, let me see if i can find a box to test that thing

That´s awesome!!! Now it´s a one sided lol I was actually thinking about doing just a MDF wood in there instead of the triangle, and then, roud over the tip of that wood and rounder those corners with PVC, something like this:

Since you can´t hear a 1 db difference for example, it´s very difficult to see if the triangle actually works, i don´t think it could give you that much of an improve so you can hear it but i might be wrong, shit you got me to it, i´m gonna find a box where i can test this thing out, my old box has a lot of resin so i can´t take the triangle out to test it right now

i have that triangle in my explorer´s box but i never tested a before/after result since i didn´t have my TL a year ago when i built that box. When are you installing this box???? i might be able to do a before/after test for you on a friend´s box and update the SPL gains topic with that

Try charging it first, do what n8 told you, wire it with another batt or try finding a good battery charger somewhere, those batts are very nice, maybe it had A LOT of time resting on his garage or something and just need some charging time

I think meca style it´s the most difficult to get a good score, doesn´t it? i´ve only tried it a couple of times before just for fun since that doesn´t exist on panama, i got way louder db drag style sealed on the dash than on the headrest with door open!

I took a sealed 1.5 cubic feet box and installed an external pvc tube, flared it, got vinyl in there and some other things, it´s scoring a 139.5 with a single 12" 50$ pioneer sub and 400 watts from a piece of crap sony xplod amplifier, yes, you can port a sealed box if the internal space allows you to have a proper box for the sub you are going to use

Yeah...and you definitely seen some crazy shit.. That's way fucked up, especially since they drug around a dead body with them for like 4 months.... Never seen anything like that man, that´s crazy, worst thing i´ve done to my mom has been a hairtrick, i´ve never yelled at her or anything,damn this is sick as hell :S
