i would make the box 14"H x 24" W x 20"D with 1" thick MDF, port 12" H x 2.5"W x 27"D (L port of course) , that would give you around 2 cubic feet and 35 hz after displacement, 15 SQ of port per cubic feet

Well, back home (venezuela) we have the world champions on this kind of competitions, it´s called "open show" , yes it´s who´s the loudest with an open trunk, we don´t have rules like you guys do over there, you can park your car at friday night on an avenue and play that piece of shit all night long, street, beaches, partys, avenues, etc etc etc, i fucking hate it!!!!!!! But hell, they spent TONS of money on this things and they actually sound clear and LOUD, specially cars from Venezuela, Colombia and Panama, they get the termlab 5 feet away from the car to see who has the loudest bass, nad they also use judges and even RTA to judge the mids and highs, installation, lightning and all those things, a waste of money if you ask me because once you close the hatch, that thing sounds like crap!!!!

Well, since your port Width is 3.5" , you should try to keep it at least that distance from the wall of the box, said that, if you need 22" for lenght then you have to make a L port, 15" long the first piece and then 7" to the right

the port is gonna aim to the roof or the back???

Yeah man,this forum it´s awesome, you´ll find every answer you are looking for just doing some research, i always double check my ideas, theories and little knowledge searching on this forum, i always learn something new!!! Anyways, a 35 hz tuning it´s always a very nice daily tuning, i´m tune @ 32 hz in the swift and i still can hit 146 dbs with rave and techno, around 60-65 hz.

Damn, that´s one weird box! why does it have that shape? and, if you have 1.5 cubic feet before displacement, the port should be external hommie, if not, it´s gonna get way to small for that sub!! Said that, i would get an external 4" aeroport maybe? something like 12" long giving you a 39 hz tuning, i don´t think you would be able to play low frequencies too strong with that small box, so why bother trying? depends on your music likes my friend, if you want to play lower then you could get something like 16" long, giving you a 35 hz tuning if you use 5" of the port inside the box and 11" outside the box getting around 1.4 cubic feet after displacement. I forgot to ask you, what´s the sub displacement???

sealed boxes better for lows???? yeah right!!! Depends on what you are looking for man, comps?daily?hairtricks?demos?techno, electronic and high frequency music?

Well, some people may know this and some not, i don´t use 8" PVC because it´s expensive and difficult to find, i use free cardboard tubes!!! How??? well, i use to have a large format printing company, when the supplier sent us the Banner Rolls, they came inside of a 8" cardboard tube, they work AWESOME and they are way easier to flare my friend, just go to a printing company and you´ll find tons of tubes wich they take to the garbage, ask them to give you the tubes and that´s it!!! Here´s a couple of pics of boxes with this cardboard tubes They ain´t pretty but surely do the job, you can even glass them inside if you want to make them stronger, i´ve had great succes using them!!!

The 4 DD's and 8000 watts helps lol hahaha the explorer system has 4 DD 2512´s and a SD8000.1 for bass race, i can´t move a single hair of a girl´s head with that hahaha, the 11.5 c/f and 4 6" it´s the suzuki swift with 2 crappy hifonics amps Yes, i love DD!!

This forum is for people to learn my friend, it´s all cool, ask whatever question you got in your mind, i´m not a big expert but i do have a some experience Anyways, YES, what people have recommended you it´s good on the SLOT PORT area, aeroports are more efficient and need less area to work properly, if you Slot need to be between 12-16 SQ per cubic feet, aeros need 8-12 SQ per cubic feet, remember that´s just a general daily rule, but still works great! Said that, yes 3 8" aeroports are almost 151 SQ of port giving you around 10.5 SQ of port per cubic feet after displacement, should work great!! I have 11.5 cubic feet and 4 6" PVC tubes and im doing some major hairtricks hehe

I saw this is a tahoe, so i guess it´s a no wall box in the trunk maybe? 49" wide seems kind of big for a trunk but i don´t know much about your truck, yes you can use AEROPORTS wich take way less internal space,i would build this: Box: 22" x 45" x 34" with 1" MDF wood, double baffle of course 3 8" aeroports 20" deep each one, that should murder

Just remember something Acid, if you want 14 cubic feet then you need bigger box then, that big ass port, subs and any other displacement are gonna take some internal space from your box. Anyways, i would start with around 18 cubic feet, a 196 SQ of port (14 SQ of port per cubic feet) would work very nice, port needs to be around 28" deep so you can have a 30 hz tuning and around 14 cubic feet after displacement

Get on it then, it´s way to easy to find any ugly chick that wants to try her first hairtrick!!!
