  1. Nice amp, thanks for the offer but that´s about the price i can get it brand new on the box, what would be your final price?thanks a lot... PM sent
  2. How much or it? murilo gave you 5 years warranty or what?
  3. What up blazer? thanks dude, but as i said before, just want a single amp, don´t have the space for 2...
  4. Yes! hehe, depending if it´s used or brand new of course, used don´t want to pass 1100$ depending on the size and brand, brand new no more than 1400$ maybe, why?
  5. PM sent Nice prices and offer dude, thanks a lot but i don´t have the space, i want a single amplifier
  6. Why rusty? they aren´t your amps? you bought them used from rusty?
  7. hehe i know blinky, just looking all options before i make up my mind Too small, thanks anyway... mmmm, nice option, time of use? ever repaired? Time of use?ever repaired? don´t know much about Atomic because i haven´t use them, but reading a lot says to me that they are great
  8. Looking to buy a monster amp, SD, stetsom, AB, etc etc. ASAP!!
  9. Yeah i think so also, but i need the alternator SOON and looks like Tennessee will be under water more time than i thought!
  10. I was thinking on buying an Iraggi, but Tennessee still under water and i need it VERY soon, i looked at this alts before but they are very expensive for me, well i guess you get what you pay right??
  11. Damn! i´ve been posting for 2 months already and forgot to introduce myself, here it goes: My name is Javier Duque, i´m a Venezuelan living at Panama City, PANAMA right now; I´ve been on car audio since i was 16 and my love and passion for it grows every day, i´m 28 years old right now. I´m the Panamenian 2009 Bass Race champion on the 149.9 class, i did it with my little swift and now i bought also a Explodder, wich, it´s the loudest car on this small country right now, whatever help i can provide you don´t mind asking, i´m here to learn also, i love SMD forum By the way, you can see my videos here: http://www.youtube.com/user/twingo16V Cheers
  12. Congrats twisted, i´m waiting for Dom to start working again so i can order my alternator; Have you metered this monster with the new subs? nice vid as always by the way...
  13. Well, i´m not gonna say you are wrong because you know your shit of course, but, 6 c/f with 2 6" ports for a 18" sub for example wouldn´t sound the same on a 10 c/f with same 2 6" ports because you would have more port noise and surely less output, that´s just an example of course, but well, once again you know your thing, just by reading your numbers and stuff on your sign it´s easy to figure it out
  14. Well, they both are nice, since you are not looking for score and you don´t care about testing wich one works best on your car, AERO FTW!! They take less internal space, easier to retune and test, you can use cheap PVC tubes and they need less area most of the time. Well, generally, the more power you have the more port you can get, this also depends on the car, my little swift HATES big ports and big subs, works great with 10´s and 12´s , bigger than that, scores the same or maybe less. My explorer likes much bigger port, said that: i have 16 SQ of port per cubic feet on the swift and worked awesome with my 6K amplifier, it broke down so now i have a 2K amplifier and still sounds loud, but i know it could be a lot louder with a smaller port, i don´t have the power for that port. The explorer has 20 SQ per cubic feet because i´m gonna use a 8K amplifier wich i haven´t bought yet, but with barely 3K watts it´s hitting around 151 right now, i´m just dreaming on a high 52 with my new amp, we´ll see...
  15. As i said before, for people that not care on competing or looking for the maximun efficiency on a box, port area depends on a lot of factors including power, but once again, for people that don´t know and don´t care really, port area depends mostly on the box size and power...
  16. hehehe no worries dude, glad i can help you, i forgot to tell you something, this 12-16 SQ per cubic feet applies on the slot ports, aeroports are more efficient and need less area, something like 9-12 SQ per cubic feet. I´m gonna explain you with an example: Let´s say you are building a box for 2 12´s and you want a daily box that sounds good with anything, the subs are kicker CVR´s and you have 1200 watts. I would want to use 4 cubic feet after displacements (port, subs, bracing, 45´s if you use them, etc). For that kind of power and daily box, i would use 40 hz tuning and around 14 SQ of port per cubic feet with a slot port; If i want the box to be 4 cubic feet i need to make it bigger so i can get 4 c/f after displacement, let´s say each sub has 0.12 c/f and i would get around 0.3 c/f of port, then í would need around 4.6 c/f BEFORE displacement. Let´s say my measures are 14H x 33W x 22D , i´m gonna use them for my box, they are external dimensions 14 x 33 x 22 / 1728 = 5.88 c/f EXTERNAL We have to take out the wood thickness so we can know the internal space, since it´s 3/4" MDF then we have to take out 1.5" to each measure so we can get the internal space 14-1.5 x 33-1.5 x 22-1.5 /1728 = 4.67 c/f INTERNAL The subs are 0.24 c/f , so , 4.67 - 0.24 = 4.43 c/f The port: We said we want around 14 SQ per cubic feet, if we are calculating 4 c/f after displacement, 4 x 14 = 56 SQ of port it´s what we need. We want a vertical port, the box internal high is 31.5" , that would be the port high, 56 / 31.5 = 1.77" wide would be the port, i would get 1.8 then. Now i go to http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp and put in these measures, it says that, for 4 cubic feet internal and that port area, i need to get the port 17" depth for a 40 hz tuning, if you want a higher tuning then the port depth is shorter and viceverse. Finally, we can know the port displacement would be like this: 31.5 x 1.8 x 17 /1728 = 0.5 c/f 4.43 - 0.5 = 3.93 cubic feet after all displacements with a 40 hz tuning and 14 SQ of port per cubic feet, i think that would be a kick ass box for daily pounding on 2 12´s and 1200 watts, i hope this can hellp you!!!
  17. That rule is mostly for slot ports, aeroport are more efficient, a round port needs about 9-13 SQ of port per cubic feet, said that, that´s why i would use minimun 3 4" ports, besides that, where do you get 56 SQ of port with a single 4" tube????? pi x ®2 3.1416 x (2)2 3.1416 x 4 = 12.57 square inches!! 3 4" ports would be 37 square inches Simple basic maths...
  18. Well, there´s a very simple rule on port area, 12-16 SQ of port per each cubic feet, it´s very good if it´s a simple box, but there are subs that likes smaller, others bigger, for example, my DD´s LOVE at least 16 SQ of port per cubic feet; Also, depends on the power, if it´s a small power you don´t have enough for a big port and viceverse. Said that, you find out how much internal space you want for the box, you get how many SQ of port you need, and the tuning just use the12volts.com or any other online calculator for the port depth, that´s pretty much it, of course, it´s way more complex than that if you are competing or something, but for a simple box, that´s the easiest way...
  19. For 2 12´s and 4 c/f i would no less than 3 4" , even that i think it could have some port noise depending on the power you have.
  20. I count 12 broken laws on my way home from the office right now 2- Speeding 20 and 30 mph over the limit on the freeway 6- Speeding 15 mph over the limit on the streets about 4 times 7- Cut some traffic thru a gas station 8- Cut traffic thru a bank 9- Cut traffic thru a mall 10- Pounded the system in front of a hospital 11- Pounded the system LOUD on a few lights (didn´t count them) 12- Past some cars where i shouldn´t do it (single white line) Damn!!!
  21. Damn, very flat respond!! That´s nice, i´m gonna build a box for moving hair, but nothing below 35 hz tuning i guess, don´t wanna loose the 40-44 hz that i like so much
  22. Look at the sexplorer videos on the member´s build room, i was drinking the whole day and night and driving, damn i love south america haha, i know US it´s the best country on the world, but sometimes i think it´s kind of dumb about laws, how the hell you are gonna give a ticket of double parking just because a tire it´s on a small part of the line?? damn!! Here you have laws and they work, but just the necessary laws...
  23. For a 15" i would at least 3 c/f and 1 6" port, yes the port size depends on the box size...
