  1. too much? this isnt underbody neons, spinner hubcaps, or fake fender vents.... for $630, they DEFINITELY are not going to be black.... im digging the blue even if they will only be seen rarely its better to be done right then just BLAH! just color match to the brakes so that you wont have that two tone blue affect and it will be SEXAY!
  2. yea just send me the money and Ill send it! I want One Million Dollars!
  3. I was curious to how it sounds and performs to get input with out having to do it and then tear it apart if its not what I want! So if you know anyone that has done it or you have heard it please share your input! This is obviously in a SUV!
  4. I have an 18 in my jimmy(96) and I have sub up port back and it is beast.
  5. Thanks man, and sorry for the snap shot! lol its late as shit and I just want some answers lol I have a few ideas but was just looking for some mad scientists to chime in. You know... Is it going to be worth walling it. Or should I do a port up system with subs up and rest the Box on a platform directly above the wheel wells. Just looking to push mad AIR and put up some decent mumbers! im doing pretty good with what I got now just want more ya know....isnt that always the FIX! lol!
  6. I dont know what he was getting at. I just wanted to let the amount of power I would be using for the total setup! http://www.stetsom.com.br/eng/DetalhesProduto.aspx?c=8101&cat=172 and when I clamped the 2k5 at 2 ohms it actually did a true 3540rms at 14.2 volts Didn't he say he was using the 5k2d and NOT the 2k5? The 2k5 is rated 3,300 @ 13.8V. So that 3,540 would be good. Which would be a relatively good sign that the 5k2 would do rated as well? I am using the 5k2d for the WALL BUILD. I was just stating the fact that stetsom does what it claims to do. There are a lot of people out there that doubt its power because its only 13.8v and its so tiny of an amp! Not to be a @$$ I want to use this thread for what I made it for. Not to debate this and debate that! I need help as far as porting, rough ideas, so please from here Chime in with HELP and ideas!
  7. no problem boss. Im not here for a pissing contest just really looking for some good input before I start this rebuild! my wife wants to do a hair trick in the truck and her hair is LONG as Shit so its gunna be hard and I dont have the room for 4 18's cause I have to keep my backseats. So i figured just run the two in the wall at the c-pillar and if it doesnt move her hair who cares cause I now have 2 18's doing HELLA damage!

  10. i see what u did there, but if i was you i wouldnt find out the real power it pushes at bla bla bla bla volts bla... if you know how to wall at the b pillar nothing changes when u wall at the c pillar This would be my first wall so I dont actually no how to wall yet. I have seen logs and have a good idea but dont know much about tuning and all that fun jazz. I was just throwing the specs in case someone needs it for number crunching or something. I would just rather be over informing than not enough. I have kinda come to the conclusion that with the wall i cant do the port in the middle I think not exactly a scientist. I was thinking maybe the port on top maybe 220sq of port area somewhere in there!
  11. were good bro, no hard feelings. just lookin for input on tuning bracing and all that fun stuff!
  12. If you read the other post it was cause I realized i put it in the wrong Forum and didnt want to slop up the SITE! there are specific categories for a reason and I was hoping to get that one deleted by an admin so that it doesnt waste space on the SITE!
  13. I have a 96 jimmy that I want to add another 18 to but I have to keep the backseats. I am able to wall at the C-pillar and have the port blow in. I will be using 2 18" zcons from SSA they are rated at 2500rms. Right now I got the one sitting in a 7 cubic encloser tuned to 33Hz. I am currently using the SAZ3k. for the new setup I will be using the Stetsom 5k2d at 2 ohms. It pushes about 6800rms at 2 ohms at 13.8 volts. I would want the new enclosure to be tuned at 33hz because it will be used as my daily vehicle. I will be have 2 xs d3100 in the back so we will need to take into consideration that! Thanks for all your input ahead of time! Width above wheels is 59 1/2" Depth from top of seat to back is 38" Depth from bottom of seat to back is slightly under 40" Height total is 59 1/2" with ceiling out! width of wheel well is 40" Height of wheel well is 7" not sure on length
  14. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/46347-teamramrods-ssa-jimmy-build-log/ It is a line that SSA has been undergoing for a while and they just did the prototype and I got my hands on....Its still pre-production!
  15. Winter is a great time to start a REBUILD in MICHIGAN! 16. You are absolutely right. pick you up a little hc800 or something and run the 4 from that you can get really good for through ebay they sell 4 by the foot pretty cheap! and the FI will hand 1 ohm ALLLLL DAY! i have 1 18" at 1 ohm and it gets down and dirty!
  17. Reading what you wrote and reading what I wrote if you look sideways and squint they are virtually the same thing lol. I see what your saying and if I was able to explain it and not try to type it lol I actually do make sense. LOL I was basically reading over what I wrote and I was like WTF lol but Ya you are correct and I am as well just worded very weirdly lol.
  18. Hey I dont know what the specs of the subs are thats why I was saying make sure you read them before getting the box or building. But as for the rest of my message i didnt understand it neither lol. But for rap and slipknot and stuff the 12's would do really good. I had two 12" AudioPipe (Ipipe's)in a ported box tuned at 32Hz wired to one ohm being pushed by a 1610D from hifonics. And it sounded GREAT! but I sold that and now I have 1 18" FI BTL with a Hifonics 2100rms BRZ( the 2010 new series dirty sound by the way) in a 5.5 cubic box tuned a 32.7Hz and It sounds WONDERFUL!!!! But If I were you and you are stuck on Alpine do the 12's but as you stated DO not overpower them. If you want more bass get more subs or better subs PERIOD! and what I meant by the highest port possible is lets say the specs say you have a range from - 30-35HZ if you are looking for more SPL than SQL than go with 35Hz does that help?
  19. Hey, I just heard two type R 12's in a box tuned at about 20-24hz and he had a directed 1000 watt amp hooked to it and it sounded very nice. Nice clear punching bass. Remember to get a box tuned to the specs of the sub go to the highest port possible that the sub will accept to maximize your SPL level. As for the 10's I have never heard them in person but I have heard great things. What type of music do you listen to?
  20. Im not saying what you said was wrong I was just informing him a little deeper on the amp instead of simply stating that +- is same as +-+- when it comes to mono. If you wire a 4 ohm sub and achieve a 2 ohm load and then you wire another 4 ohm sub and achieve a 2 ohm load than how would you be able to use those subs if you only have a 2 ohm stable amp? because if you bring the + from speaker A and wire it with speaker B and bring speaker A - and wire it with speaker B - then you would drop the load of the subs to 1.4 on and ohm reader and the amp is not stable and you would damage both amp and subs. That is why I said if the amp had + - + - then you would do speaker A on the left and speaker B on the right and lets say the amp put out 1400rms at 2 ohms then the amp would send 700 to each sub at a 2 ohm load.
  21. ok here is what I have for you because hifonics does the same thing. if you hook the outter + to the inner - its still the same as hook the outter + to the outter - or vice versa you will get the same thing from the amp. The reason they do this is lets say you have to seperate 12's and they are 4 ohm and you dont have a 1 ohm stable amp then you can not wire them together because that would achieve a 1 ohm so you would wire them seperate and achieve 2 ohm load with each amp. Now say you wanted to use your amp and it only had one source of + - when you put both wire in it brings the load down and that is not the proper way of wiring together subs as you already know. So what they do for you is off "2 channels" and the reason I use quotes is because mono is one channel regardless. but now you have the ability to run two subs and 2 ohms and not have the wires touch. you would put speaker A into the left +/- and speaker B into right +/- and TADA.....BOOM BOOM BOOM the proper way. I hope this helps man if not just let me know I can walk you through a different way.
  22. Contemplating= 1 18" 2 15" 3 12" what to do!?!
