So the 5-6 dB gain is worth the $400? or could the money get something even better?

So you think that gain is good? or should i go even bigger if i can find a sweet deal on a AQ2200

I know it has to be a group 34 battery....do you recommend anything? And yes it did help bassslova. So do you think i would gain about 15 more dB? (by tripling power RMS rating)

Well for me, its more of a budget problem to get the 1200.1 rather than the 2200.1, but as you said, later down the road, i could always upgrade the amp. Right now, im looking at shuriken batterys on ebay. If I went with one of those, and ran 4 gauge from the stock battery to the shuriken battery in the trunk, then from the shuriken battery positive terminal to my 2 amps (RF 400.4 for highs, AQ 1200.1 for lows) and grounded those amps to the negative post on the shuriken battery. Would that be a good setup, with out too much power loss? Keep in mind i will most likely do a big 3 upgrade on top of this. I know better than to blast it for an hour straight (if that's what full tilt means), but for a few min blasting a few min at %75 power, would this setup be good? And of course, turn off all amps 15 min. before parking the car to charge up the battery's. EDIT: i've figured out my enclosure cubic feet is 2.5 cubic feet (i took off .5 off each dimension for wood size already) my port is estimated 28" long(didnt take out sub to measure slot), 9" deep (10 if u include the slot) and 1" wide at port.

sounds good. the AQ im getting is a copper coil, so i will probably run a 1200 watt AQ amp (the one in the classifieds here) if it were aluminum coil i would go with the 2200, but i dont want to risk blowing it. u think 4 gauge is suficient...ive heard 1/0 would be better but you think 4 gauge is enough?

oh yea i know those kickers slam, but i probably arent getting em'.....too expensive (Well not really but the power i would need to run them would be like $300 since i would need a new alt to run 2000 watts RMS total)

So now im thinking the kickers are out of the question.... half a dB louder for $300 more and less SQ...no way im doing that haha i understand its impossible to give a dB number, I just want to know if i will be expecting 3x louder than my alpine setup, or a slightly louder boost (like 2 dB) Now on another forum, I've been told to just upgrade the front battery (underhood) to a group 34 high quality battery (yellow top, kinetik, ect) and leave it at that....will what you suggested have the same affect (2 batteries, one underhood one in trunk), or would i be better off with 1 "legit" battery under the hood?

It's cool...good formula im going to go measure in a min, but im pretty sure its about 2 cubic feet ima double check. heres a pic currently....in the box is a 12" sub for reference.

My enclosure is not a cheap prefab, its a custom built one by a reputable shop around my area. to find out my enclosures cu. feet. i simply multiply L*W*H? being that i paid so much to have this box custom made, i would really prefer to keep it....it fits perfect in my trunk and is super solid and well built (ported, 3/4 MDF)

ive already got the box for the AQ, and the kicker box is a generic kicker one (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-2-KICKER-DS12L7-L7-12-Car-Subwoofers-Subs-BOX_W0QQitemZ390079742880QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Subwoofers_Enclosures?hash=item5ad29083a0) and for amps, both are new and same price im looking at eD 9.1 (1200 RMS) and kicker zx1000.1 (birthsheets usually rate about 1200 RMS though)

the AQ i may get used for $160 (hes asking like 200) Leaving over $300 for an amp, which a kick ZX1000.1 is only like $200 used on ebay, leaving $100 for wires. I already have a box, and the extra battery..... So overall this is the setup im looking at: -ZX1000 kicker amp OR Elemental designs nine.1 -12" Audioque HDC3 -~2cubic foot box ported -4 gauge wire maybe 0 or 1/0 will that be loud in a honda sedan? or would it be better to sell my current stuff and have a $700 budget, to buy a $500 kicker setup with $200-$300 for an amp (ZX1500.1)

how much louder will the L7's be than the AQ? is my box sufficient? u think it will be loud in my car, or should i get another setup elsewhere? and my budget for overall upgrade is like $500, so if i buy the AQ for 200 i have ~$300 for an amp. how can i use that other battery? Run 4 gauge to it from stock battery (keep new one in trunk) than from there run 2 more power wires to sub/speaker amps?

im looking to upgrade the current subs in my car, what do you guys recommend? im looking at a 12" audioque HDC3 in a nice ~2 cu.ft. box, or getting 2 L7's 12" from ebay w/kicker box. Which one of those should be louder? what amp should i put to em? and most importantly, what upgrades should i do to my car? I have a stock 2006 honda civic EX. i was considering a big 3 upgrade. I also have a 12 volt deep cell battery (from a golf cart) that is new and could this benefit my system at all somehow? i always see people with like 2-3 batteries.
