I tuned to 34 and I love it. I generally go between 32-36 but everyone has their own preference. my last box was just for messing around and I tuned it for 25, for an everyday, it's not good to tune that low, sounded pretty blah. My 15s hit the lows hard though, but sacrificing much SQ.

That is one of the most important things to keep in mind when it comes to doing multiple batteries, in my opinion. One junk battery will shorten the lifespan of any other good batteries hooked up with it. just remember wiring two batteries in parallel will increase amperage, wiring them in series will increase voltage.

Less votalge drop, equals more current flow. more current and voltage equal more watts. :yahoo: Pretty much what I was getting at, what with there being a need for about 5 feet more length to the power run. Direct grounding can alleviate that annoying humming and whining too. I just view it as unnecessary unless you really need that extra power. I did the same thing though, but my amps are 5 feet away from my batteries. I just believe in what's easier for your budget.

I've looked in there, but I want to know the msrp, as in the brand new price for them. I know the sundown and AQ prices, but also keep in mind that we're looking at either a 15 or an 18.

Well, if you run a ground along with the power wire, you might lose like 3 feet of wire all together (keep in mind that the body of the car is like having a 50/0 gauge wire from the battery all the way up to your grounding point), but it's not really worth it when it's cheaper to just bolt it to the body. You might gain like 30 watts rms running a separate negative wire, not much of a big deal really. I'd say instead of buying 20 or more feet of wire to run a direct ground, use that same wire to do the big 3. A beefier grounding strap from battery to body and from block to body and from alternator positive to battery positive will help more in getting more power through your wires. Plus you'll have it taken care of in case of future electrical upgrades (IE: alternator, battery) just my .02

Can anyone let me know what to expect for the msrp of these? I'd most likely buy used, but you can't argue with a manufacturer warranty. I would love to know the msrp for the T3, the DD, and the DC please.

Well, I know Fi is good, I know RE is good, and I know AA is good, but we want to go with a brand that no one else has around here. We want to try something else so we know what else is a good sub to recommend to others.

Well an RE, an AA, or a FI are obvious choices, but I just put a BTL 15 in a car, and an SSD 12 in another car. I know a dude with an RE, and no clue about AA, but my friend wanted to go with something no one else in our small craptown has, lol. We just need to get some prices and opinions before we decide. We're not looking at an SPL machine or a hair-trick monster, we just want to bump it a bit louder than others, with ease.

It's coming from 2 12"s in a neon seeing 1500. Of course it not from a TL so I can't say it's very accurate. There's nothing wrong with type-r's (I actually love them, they are so easy to do a recone to or re solder the coils) but I don;t like the type-x, that and I'm just sick of it being the only thing everyone gets around here.

Well, it is going to be going in a Ford explorer (SUV) and we're looking into feeding it about 1500-2000 RMS. big 3 and all necessary electrical will be done. Also I'm looking into what kind of box to build for it... I'm thinking maybe a t-line, but I know nothing about them, I normally just build badass ported boxes.

My friend is getting sick of all the losers at school buying Alpine. I told him we should blow them away with a single sub in his ride, from a brand that none of them know of. The only problem is that all of the subs I'd recommend are all ones I've never heard in person. I've narrowed it down to just a few brands, I just need to know what you think of them and what the average msrp is for them. we want either a single 15 or single 18, his current setup does 130 and he would like to see more than that with a single sub. Audioque HDC3 - just wondering cuz I know they're priced decent. T3 1000 - I know they're good, but how good? DD 9500 - I see them all over, they must be doing something right. DC Level 4 - They're everywhere, must be good. Sundown Nightshade - I really don't know much about them. Thanks for the help guys.

^^ Agreed, you should never have power flowing through the wires when putting your amp in. Always either take the negative terminal off the battery or pull the fuse out of the positive line. Remember warranties cover everything but user error.

I saw one the other day with some nice shiny black rims with a chrome lip. That puts the car all together IMO. I can't wait to see what you do to this thing, cuz I know it will be clean. I wish you would have gotten the 6-speed, but whatever, I still love it!

Do a complete custom... sink in some projector headlights (projected lows, unprojected highs) and use the projectors as the tail lights and the unprojected ones as brake lights. or the same thing with ones with halos, having the halos be tail lights, projectors being brake lights, and the unprojected being the reverse lights... just a thought... I mean, you could get red painted bulbs for it... it would look sweet and different. Pretty much, imagine these headlights turned sideways with the projectors as brake lights and the high beams being reverse lights... Also, lol, that's my roommates car.

What do you mean awesome vehicles? Where the hell is the Supra? I've lost faith in them. Also, I think the best way to avoid this whole 'throttle stuck wide open and can't shift into neutral' problem is to stop being lazy and drive stick.

My friend had gotten 2 Chinese LEDs and they broke right after he got them, apparently they make their cars with the same quality. Must be light as hell though... Horsepower to weight ratio is very important, but so is impact resistance...

Just wondering though, in the extremely unfortunate situation that you got rear-ended again and the fittings on the tank busted again, would your ride immediately drop frame? Or does it have separate locking valves to keep the air in the bags? Never worked with bags before. Figured I'd ask for future reference.
