  1. Oh ok. I'll remember that next time.
  2. I did. They are wired and sitting stable at 1.4ohms. nice. looks like you got some dual 2's, if you got 1.4 on each coil separately. No they are dual 4's. I think I got a good find. how are they dual 4's if they read 1.4? unless you measured each sub in parallel Yeah two dual 4 subs gives you around 1 @ the amp. I thought I said that. My bad. wait...i still dont understand. how were the subs wired when you measured the coils? The subs were wired in parallel with two leads coming out the box reading around 2 ohm each. So I wired them parallel again to get 1 ohm. If you don't get it yet all the + are wired together the same with the -.
  3. I may start walking in random pawn shops now. Never now what you'll find.

  5. Yeah they are SE's for sure. Did more research.

  7. I'll use them for a while then maybe some FI recones or something. I'm using a MB quart 1500.1. 1500 rms @ 1 so they should be happy.

  9. No big deal, wanted to hear them play right away. I'll be building a solid box real soon these bad boys. After I gather more info.
  10. Tell me you bought these... Yeah I bought them. Got both and a crappy sealed box for $100.
  11. That was fast I tried google but got nothing. Thanks bro.
  12. I do actually but I don't have the steady hands for that I don't think. But I guess I could give it a try.
  13. I was bored yesterday and decided to walk into a pawn shop and I saw these. The bottom of the motor is chrome with no writing. Now I know they are older RE Audio. But which model? Anybody have a clue. They are dual 4 ohm with a triple stack magnet.
  14. I have built a few boxes, but I want to try a kerfed port. I don't have access to a table saw, do if there is a builder in the area that can help me out. That would be great. The box will be for 2 12"RE Audio subs ( picking them up today) then I can give more info.
  15. You should go with a single box. The port will depend on the space you have. If you port through the armrest you have to space the subs apart to fit the port in the middle. If you use the rear deck opening the subs can be closer together for a narrower box. I would face the subs forward toward the seat seal off the trunk and port up for no trunk rattle. If your sears fold maybe even a small hair trick.

  17. Bump for the box designers on here.
  18. Need help with a box design. Car: 98 vw Jetta vr6 Space: 36w x 14h x 20d Going for SQ but still want to hit the lows. Amp 1 mb quart onx1.1500d later maybe add another. Also want the subs and port fwd. If possible want port in the middle and u want to use plexiglas for the rear panel, to make the box see through. Any thoughts.
  19. Thank you very much sorry to bother now that i have it set up what are some good tuning for the amp like lpf hpf and stuff like that This is where you listen preference comes in. If you do not have subs. Set amp to full, if you have subs, try to set the hpf to around 80hz or so. You won't need the Lpf for the components. No bass boost, or set the hpf to where there is no distortion from bass at the highest volume you want to play them at. I try to set mine at 70-80 for good midbass, but if I'm set up to go loud I'll go up to 100-120hz on the crossover for only midrange.
  20. Ok hope this is clear. If you are running an amp the wire from your amp needs to be connected to the "IN" on the crossover. Then run a wire from the "Woof" ( or however it's marked) to the woofer. Then the same for the tweeter. Run a wire from the "T" to the tweeters. Good advice is to mount the crossovers in the kick panels and NOT the doors to protect frI'm moisture. Hope this helps.
  21. Just use a relay to turn the eq on/off. I had this issue when I had my crescendo 1000.4 and it stopped it.
  22. I had those same speakers in my old car. It was hard to make them sound even remotely good. You are going to run them with a bandpass filter cuz they get screechy and high volume. And since they don't play any low mid or midbass frequencies they won't sound rich and full. My advice sell them if you want pro audio loudness try Seleniums, or a mid priced component set. The only kids that sound good from A B are the first VFL's and they don't make them anymore.
  23. Are you guys still doing the trade in program? I have some things I want o get rid of. I'm going to be rebuilding my system with Skar subs and amps
