looks great man was it a fun adventure or what Hey i didnt see where you did any actual "glassing"....did you? Also what do you see when theres no drink in the cup holders? Do you see all the rawness thru the holes? Thats somethin to think about on the next one......the next ones are always better then the ones before them and so on. Also build you somethin to go over the top of that battery bro because it almost ruins a nice little fiberglass job. Not downing you at all you did great just some pointers from an outsider lookin in. Im POSITIVE that now you got your hands dirty this is just the first in a long line of COOL SHIT you will build. I ended up just putting 2 coats of resin for the first layer and then did another layer of cloth and resin (I was going to have to drive 45 min just to get some Glass) but I did use some bondo jelly hair stuff to help it out some then went over it with some light weight body filler to help make it a little smoother, but it was still my first time and I hope the next thing I do will turn out better (oh yea did I mention there was a ALLOT! :R of sanding). As for the cup holders I painted them black on the inside and yes there is some rawness but its not to bad with the black paint, been looking for some plastic inserts of some kind but...... :-[ as for the top for the battery ,well I was going to try and make a glass top for it but I cant go any wider on the console or my seats wont go back (the battery is the max width that I would want to go), I was thinking about getting some material with a stretch to it to cover a wood former/top with foam (kind of make it a arm rest)that would cover the top of the battery and stretch over the sides. I would also like to thank the forum members and you’re self for the positive comments / encouragement that have been said..... They really mean allot to noob’s like myself.

So you guys think its ok for a first timer?

That’s what I was thinking just something to clean it up, or some nice battery post clamps or something.

Ok guys here it is let me know what you think. I didn’t think I was ever going to finish sanding it and from the looks of it, it could have used more :-[ but enough of the rambling here are a few pictures. Oh ya groundpounder here is a picture of the under construction Nova Kind of just collecting dust, my lazy brother won’t get off his butt and work on it. :-

Well did some more work tonight 2 coats of resin (how many you guys suggest?) and if I had read the post before I started working the console :-[ I would have got you a picture of the Nova but.... next time I work on the console I will post a picture of it, its still under construction and still looks like crap.

well its shaped like an optima but its just a Exide Orbital I think, my optima i have up front looks the same other than color.

Ok don’t make fun of me too much this is the first time/attempt at Glass/Resin work. Its just some 3/4 MDF and Burch, The reason I am posting is because I think the cloth I used may not work (cotton T-shirt). Like I said I’m a Noob at using resin/glass and I am afraid it may sag on me when I apply the resin even though I stretched the S*** out of it. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
