Going to do my dash LED conversion sometime soon. Anyone know how many 194 bulbs there are in the gauges, light controls, HVAC, etc.? I've tried looking and can't find anything (but of course it will pop right up for someone else..) Thanks!

If it was through the paint, I would have noticed from afar. It wasn't a real in depth scratch, just some branches off a small tree. I'll have to give it a try. Truck needs a good wash/wax anyways.

You're kidding me right? Even the top DJ's in the world don't do 5 gigs a day. You're lucky to get 5 a month...Do you really expect a party/dance/wedding/etc. every day? Not even the largest sound companies do 5 gigs a day, even with all their equipment... Four words: Get the fuck out. I'm not trying to be a dick, but you're dreaming WAY too big. $25k is NOT going to be enough to do what you're wanting to do, regardless of if you do "5 gigs per day". $25k is good enough for a decent setup, but you better be ready to jack the prices up, because two of you setting up a half decent DJ system 5 times a day is going to get tiring: you're going to need (not want, NEED) help. As a matter of fact, I'm sitting in one of the top recording schools in the entire country right now, in front of several professionals who operate their own sound companies. Guess what? They're teaching 5 days a week, not doing 5 gigs a day. The only possible place you could get 5 gigs a day is Japan, if you're lucky. Sorry dude, but you need to look again. Look at it has a hobby. If you have the money to pay everything off now & don't mind if it all goes down the hole & you don't get it back, then you're going to be fine. But look again. A halfway decent PA system for gigs (typical 2x12/2x15" tops & 2x18" subwoofers) will cost you a minimum $3,000 (pending on if you go active or passive, I would know, that's the cheapest decent sound system, and I have it.) But hey, if you want to blow 25 grand and be disappointed, be my guest. Don't come crying back to us when you go head first into the concrete... /rant

As it says...Post your "mancaves"...I'm at school so mine is pretty much makeshift, & not really done. I have about $1500 in DJ lighting to put up, & I may put it up in the basement...haha. Vizio 26" TV, X-Box 360, Time Warner Cable modem/Netgear router, Mackie mixer, EV LiveX 15's & 18's, Gateway netbook connected via wireless to MSI's iTunes library. Oh, and a spinning rocker chair. GO!

The mud or the scratches?

Well, I took my truck offroad (nothing severe, just some mudholes...lol) but one part I went through (I didn't realize at the time) had some tree branches that made slight scratches down the side. Nothing hugely noticeable unless you're up close. What's the best way to clean them up & make it look like it wasn't scratched? There's a slight part on the back rear bumper that's been scratched more (was there before I got it) that may help take that away as well...Ideas? Thanks!

I got mine changed before when AT&T bought Cingular (dunno why...) but ever since then, if someone bothers me, I just use iBlacklist on my iPhone (best $12 ever spent), denies texts/calls from selected #'s, unknown, blocked, etc.

How often have you changed your cell phone #? I've thought about changing mine but I use it for my DJ business, so that's probably not a good idea...

Looking for either 4x8" or 2-4x10" subs, & some 4x6 coax's for rear doors on a Silverado (fronts are Infinity Kappa's). Also looking for some 1/0 wire, about 15-20ft of GOOD wire with fuse block preferred. Also, if you have a large sealed battery that replaces the front battery in a 5.3 1500, I may be interested as well. Thanks!

Okay, bump then..o.o Question, how about Python alarms? Are they any god, or something like the Dual of security/remote starts? There's a local shop that does Python as a dealer/installer, but I may be better off doing a Viper by myself if it's better...

I'm buying a 2001 Silverado with the full center console w/ cassette deck. I'm trying to find a public safety desk to replace the front half with, but I'm not having any luck just yet. I've thought about learning to fiberglass, & modify the console to fit 2 separate DIN slots, for two separate Radioshack scanners (one for digital public safety, the other for analog rail/air/utilities). How hard would it be to modify the center console to fit two scanners in separate DIN sleeves? I'd appreciate any tips! Thanks. I'm definitely going to be installing an alarm/remote start in my truck that I'm getting (2001 Silverado z71) . I've been looking at the Viper Security w/ Remote Start alarms, specifically the 5704 (IIRC, one of our Captain's has that installed on his 2011 F350 work truck), and he loves it. Are there any better two-way alarm/remote start systems for a less price? Also, how hard would it be to tap the alarm activation to go to, say, a train horn kit? Yes, I'm slightly crazy... Thanks!

Can someone help me out with this? I'm trying to figure out what text-to-speech program was used in this Youtube video... It's at 5:34 & 8:40, does anyone have an idea of what software was used for those parts? I know of AT&T's software online, but me & my friend are trying to figure out which one was used on this video.

Looking for any subs that will fit good in an extended cab truck under/behind rear seats. Something along the lines of 2-8 8" subs, 2-4 10's or 12's, etc. Let me know what you got. Also on a side note, if anyone has a digital VHF radio, let me know.

I'm working on purchasing a 2001 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 Vortec, previous owner has babied the truck & averages 16mpg city with no engine upgrades (Flowmaster Outlaw exhaust). What all is possible for me to buy to help improve gas mileage/performance? I'm definitely thinking about a CAI for sure, but are there any real performance chips? Any tips appreciated!
