Would be nice to have an SMD 64-player game...lol. Anyone else feel free to add me as you wish. get someone to sponsor it or just get a server that has good ping lol lol, gotta get 64 people off the forums on BF3 first. I know that feeling. Had to bail in the middle of a good game for a "first response" call

Not sure if I should be pissed or not. At this point, I really don't care. Washington Courthouse, Ohio sounds like a good plan right now.

Skar Audio visits China! (Pictures Inside)
iceman1575 replied to skaraudio's topic in SKAR AUDIO - (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)
As much as people despise China for "stealing our products" and making them instead of keeping them in the US, I'm glad to see a few US companies keeping close touch with their manufacturing counterparts. It's little things like that which help a company be successful, and look good at the same time. Hope you're having a blast! Looks like a tight-knit operation over there. (Compared to all the pictures we see of sweatshop-type environments, lol) -
im watching the tv in the background and reading the dumb ass comments LOL Lol, that's why I wouldn't like a Youtube video with chat, because anyone and everyone posts shit...if it's going to be a video chat, it should be along side SMD chat, and follow the same guidelines...mainly no audio advice in chat, lmfao. I've seen about 50 comments in less than a minute asking for audio advice... He should pick up a nice condenser mic or something like an SM7 for the stream...if the codec would be able to support higher quality audio.

As you guys know, I have a growing sound company, very slowly but surely. I'm wanting to "create" a second "department" of it, for the DJ side of things. There's a huge market in the area for a real nice professional wedding DJ, most wedding DJ's in the immediate area are smaller one-man crews, basically a backyard party system with a suit...I have some experience but not perfect experience with weddings, which is why I plan on subhiring smaller wedding DJ's, (I've already asked around and had interest). Also one thing to keep in mind, I created a Thumbtack account, for those that don't know what it is, it's basically a Craigslist for services (DJ's, home cleaners, etc) and get countless requests for DJ's, but just couldn't provide what they were looking for... Anyways, I'm trying to find ways to finance this operation (and the Nigerian lottery hasn't helped ). I thought about a loan, but my credit isn't good enough at this very time yet...What other options do I have? I know if I'm going to go down this route, it will probably be created as an actual business. Any beneficial and positive suggestions would be appreciated.

Does anyone else hear a high pitched sound when watching Today on NBC? It's driving me insane...

I need to order new taillights for my truck...these ones are nice, but one brake light has failed and the brackets are broken, so it's being held on by some tape at the very moment (lol). I've piqued interest in the 03-06 style tails (being an '01 truck) but I don't want to get just the stock tails, but something similar. Would anyone suggest some LED tails similar to the 03-06 style tails? Or if not, can someone recommend the brightest LED bulbs for the stock tails? (I'm adding LED flashers to my truck for fire response, as well as a strobe pack)

Help building a DJ system!

I've heard good about the HD, but anything else Mackie, I refuse. Especially the Tapco/Mackie Thump's...those things killed my hearing, literally. The K series is targeted for smaller band work and DJ's as well...the K's have been really nice for wedding speakers (pre/post wedding music, announcements, etc). They would be nice to have (along with the Sennheiser wireless units) for surround sound coverage on DJ gigs. But even standalone, I would do (if you have the money) two K10's/K12's and a KW181 sub for smaller DJ gigs. The JBL's are more live oriented (which is why they're one of my choices) and the EV's definitely sound great for the price. Only thing would be a bit more powerful subwoofer, but that's just me. A buddy of mine who owns a large company is ordering a bunch of B&C 18's to replace their subwoofers with, and i'm going to try dropping one in my 18's to see how it sounds... ANYWAYS, to the OP, do you have a budget and a music niche? What type of music? Are you looking for clarity or volume? We need some feedback buddy, we will help you out for sure -

If you're wanting simple and quick, I highly recommend going the powered route. If budget is tight, then look at the likes of Behringer, Gemini RS/GVX, etc. Mid-priced range would be EV ELX (my personal recommendation), JBL PRX, QSC K/KW, etc. But the big name in the mobile DJ world is RCF. Brian Redd (Youtube DJ) uses them on his "one-man" setup (He had a stroke sometime last year and has limited mobility in his right arm) and he loves the 8" speakers, and have heard nothing but good things about them, if you can afford them. Again, it all comes down to budget.
