  1. Is it possible to change my name to Dr.Zap? Without the question mark ._.
  2. I don't want to compete with just 2 ZVX's as I don't know if it will be considered a "competing" setup. So should I or should I not get dual inputs? Is a DMM just a volt meter or multi meter? Or a precision piece of equipment meant to actually tune? I also have no idea how to tune using a DMM. I've only ever used the famed "Ear-O-Meter".
  3. I asked Mike awhile back to see if he could get a higher amp alternator for my WJ but he said that I would need to make a spacer or a bracket but I am no where near good enough with metal for that kind of thing. Unless someone could make it for me that is near my area of CT 06804.
  4. Are dual inputs safe for the amp? I don't know I've never done a build this big before. How do I contact tool maker without a facebook? I deactivated my facebook and I don't really have any plans to put it back up. How do dual inputs work? Do I need another dual input for the ground?
  5. That's what I'm trying to figure out but Mike from Singer says it will be okay.
  6. What "true" rms do you figure that I will be getting? With that box, amp, 3 Deka Intimidator 9A34M AGM Battery with a 250A Singer Alt. Or is it to soon to tell?
  7. The box is going to be 7.1ft^3 tuned to 30hz via a 15.75"x6" port. I like RAM he seems nice.
  8. Is free air different from being in a box though? Like would it able to make a woofer that's not in a box be able to play at a higher rms rating rather than a woofer that's inside of a box? I don't have access to anything, not a DD-1, CC-1, Dmm, My local store tunes by ear. All I have where I live is the fantastic "Ear-O-Meter"
  9. Even though I'm using CCA and not OFC? Would I burn up the wire if I used a 300A fuse?
  10. Well, here's the dimensions for the box. 40" wide x 18" tall x 28" deep designed by Ram-Designs. Do you think that this will be good for the subs? Unfortunately I have to tune by ear as I do not have a DD-1 or CC-1 and there's almost no one around where I live that has one according to the tools map.
  11. Can two 15' ZVX subs really handle a Skar 4500.1 at 1 ohm? RMS at 1 ohm from the 4500.1 is 4900 rms, then if i divide it by 2 it comes out to be 2450 watts per sub. Can two ZVX's really handle that? Or is the rms going to be less than that due to something like box rise or impedance rise or some other factor?
  12. I'm actually using 1/0 gauge CCA wire from audiotechix, Should I still fuse with a 300A Fuse or should I go with a 250A Fuse, I don't want to blow the fuses or damage the Amplifier. I am getting a 250A Alternator from Singer.
  13. Well, I agree about having that many tweeters in my Jeep, But I would only put 3 pairs of tweeters in my Jeep. The first picture I found on the internet and it has way to many tweeters for my liking. I only want to add 3rd pair in the rear of my Jeep. So 1 pair of tweeters in my front left & right dash (stock location) the second pair near the rear passenger pillar facing the rear passenger seat, and the final pair as picture in the second picture in the rear pillar. If anyone thinks that it would be to harsh or "bright" to add the 3rd pair then I don't think that I would do it. I'm getting mids the Skar VXI components 2 sets, For my front doors and my rear doors. I'm just asking if it would be possible to get a pair of tweeters from the VXI line instead of the entire bundle. The reason why I said silk dome then put in parentheses is because in the Skar website it says "silk (aluminum dome)".
  14. So I should try to match the VXI silk domes (aluminum Dome) with other silk domes? Or do you think that 3 pairs of tweeters is overkill? I would like to demo once I get my entire system put in.
  15. While the post about the nendo super tweeters is informative, it does not exactly help me, I have thought about nendo super tweeters but then Skar came out with there's and I'm trying to go same brand, well not really. But I don't think that I would like super tweeters due to that I think they may be to harsh for my ears.
  16. I actually have no idea how I would be wiring these up lol. Do you think that I am good with just 2 sets of tweeters? I know its overkill for 6 tweeters in 1 car but how bad can it be? On youtube theres videos of lots of super tweeters in 1 car. I would imagine that super tweeters are far more harsh than regular tweeters.
  17. It does not have to be VXI tweeters but I would like it to be. I don't know of a tweeter that would blend nicely with the VXI tweeters.
  18. Lol, Yep I like my highs very much. I just hope the VXI sets and tweeters (If I can buy them separately) can be heard over two ZVX 15's on a Skar 4500.1 on 1 ohm.
  19. just wondering if its possible to just get the tweeters of the VXI set. I am getting 2 sets of the VXI's and I have an idea of where I want the first 4 tweeters but I would like a set of just the tweeters to finish my tweeter set up. I'd buy 2 sets of VXI's and just buy the VXI tweeters alone if that's possible. Neither images of mine just ideas of what I would do with the tweeters if I can buy them alone without the rest of the bundle.
  20. Would it be possible to hear the new super tweeters and the vxi components together? I would like to hear if the new super tweeters would over power the vxi's. I would replace the tweeters that come with vxi components with 2 sets of super tweeters. Powered by a Skar 125.4.
  21. Just have a question about the wiring of the Skar 4500.1D. I know that it has 2 sets of power and ground inputs but does that mean that I have to fuse both power wires going into the amplifier? I'm just wondering so that I don't do something wrong. I also noticed that the Skar 4500.1D takes a 450 amp fuse. I don't know where to find a fuse rated at 450 for my power wire. I don't feel like getting a 250 or 300 amp rated fuse and end up blowing the fuse. Or would I be okay with a 250 or 300 I don't think that I would be okay with that.
  22. How many of those batteries do you think I need? They sure are cheap can I trust them? Also I meant to say that the Alternator I am buying is a Singer Alternator. Ryan at Ram Designs told me that I shouldn't worry about box rise if I'm just going to play music. Is this true? I also don't have a DD-1 or "O-scope" I know what a DD-1 is no idea what a O-Scope is though.
  23. I'm probably getting two ZVX 15" Subwoofer and I'm just wondering if they can a Skar 4500.1 at 1 ohm. I don't feel like blowing my subwoofers once I get them If I buy the SK-4500.1. I am getting a 250A Alternator but I don't know If I would need to change the alternator to a bigger one.
