  1. t-line ftw. I made a quick t-line for an 8 that i had lying around and god damn it really makes a difference. I think you'll be really happy with that design.=]
  2. I'd probably pick up a RE 18 sx if you can find one. this is 240 shipped off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/RE-AUDIO-SX-18-Subwoof...1QQcmdZViewItem That sucker would pound pretty hard.
  3. ^ Thats the amp right there. I'm waiting to make my final descision if i'm going to keep it once i get my OHgen alt installed. I'm not sure if its not getting enough power or what, but the JL 500/1 seemed to be pounding the system harder... I'd really like to get me a tb1k or a massive audio 1500.1
  4. i finished the box about a week or 2 ago, its just been taking me a while to get the pics up. =] Here is what she looks like now. She still needs some carpet, but All In All , she's not looking too bad, and she's poundin! jpg. Here is a pic of my Ohio generator alt that I have to send back =[ Damn ups broke the plastic plug....
  5. Finally, a Meter in Louisiana. I really would like to see what the jetta can do.
  6. Thanks for the input guys, I think i'll face it forward when i get my other 15 and have to build another box. With any luck i'll be able to have 2 15's by the end of february. Though i'm thinking of pzin the fi and getting some DC insead, but we'll see how it goes =]
  7. Yea, it was something that I really went back and fourth with, But ultimately I decided to have the port firing towards the trunk. I have taken off the rear deck and it allows unrestricted airflow. Something me and mooney are going to eventually fiberglass the trunk to where it has a ramp type surface that will smooth out the airflow from the port to the rear deck. In theory I think It would improve airflow slightly, not sure if i'd see any real world differences.
  8. Hey guys, This is my first worklog to post up here and really my first big box build. With some help from my friend Mooney (i'm sure he's around here somewhere) we built a 7cuft box for my jetta. I'm not gonna lie, building a box from the inside out is a damn bitch. Here's the pictures that i've got so far. I'll post some more up as soon as I can find my camera's usb cable. =] Enjoy! Here's the 15bl lookin all pretty. Mooney's new saw This is most of the boards cut and just placing it in to make sure it can all fit screwing down the braces clamps ThugNasty Kitty litter saw horses =P Mock up with the faceplate Inside the mock More mock ups ( yea thats my foot out the side) Almost finished with bracing Port is cut Playing with the RE we got for 140 shipped =P Last pic before the camera died I'll put up some more photos of what everything looks like as of now, it still needs to be carpeted but It still looks good and big. Btw its 7.3cu tuned to 35hz
  9. My buddy was having some of your original problems and it was because his motherboard was being grounded out. So just to check did you install risers between the motherboard and case. That could be the problem with your windows as well. BUT most likely the windows problem is a scratch on th disk. How far along in the install process does it let you get? And also if you want to get a lot of help with guys that know as much computer knowledge as these guys on smd know about audio. Check out Overclock.net, They have a ton of people on all the time and a lot of knowledge.
  10. Fuck man, sounds like the public schools in cali are almost as bad as the ones here in Louisiana. Good luck, prayers.
  11. Ohio Generator, Give these guys a call. You may end up paying a little more since your car is an import. But these guys managed to get me a 180A hot Alt for my Jetta Direct bolt on. It should be here just in time for X-mas. Irriggi is supposed to make some of the best, but with the no response to emails, it sounds like their just too bogged down. So, Give these guys a call, They have some absolutely great service. some of the most helpful guys i've ever dealt with. The guy I talked to was Gus, and he really knows his products forwards and backwards. http://ohiogen.com/ -Matt
