  1. The 125.4 still exists -- it is a separate model. Customers wanted a less expensive model, size not being an issue, like the old 100.4 -- so we made a v.2 -- it is a good bit smaller than the v.1, though.
  2. Suggested boxes are something like this based on testing and data thusfar : X-10 : Sealed – 0.75 to 1.0 Ported – 1.25 to 1.75 X-12 : Sealed – 1.0 to 1.5 Ported – 2.25 to 2.75 X-15 : Sealed – 2.0 to 3.0 Ported – 3.5 to 4.5 X-18 : Sealed – 4.0 to 6.0 Ported – 5.0 to 7.0

  4. Forgot to post up the T/S specs : E-10 D2: E-10 D4: E-12 D2: E-12 D4:
  5. I'm not sure I understand what you are describing; typically any oddity would be caught in the QC process... and a massive degree of off-centering would typically cause coil ticking or some other functional issue. A picture would be handy.
  6. To expand a little... here is a post I made the other day on CACO about the new drivers : ---------------------- The new platform drivers are a totally different animal than anything we've made before; and anything most anyone has made before. Not only are we starting with a lower FS but our FS changes VERY little over stroke. It's a much lower distortion sound but the distortion of shifting Fs (and Qts) has a sound best described as "punchy" to the ear. See the following (don't mind the objective # in the FS column -- just look at how it changes) : * At 2" p-p the SA-12 FS is over 50% higher than at-rest * At 2" p-p the SA-12 Qts has risen to triple it's rest value * At 2" p-p the Z v.4 Fs has changed essentially none * At 2" p-p the Z v.4 Qts has changed VERY little; with a max deviation of ~25% or so on the forward stroke ----- Now... take a woofer and model it up with those changes to the parameters found on the SA-12 (which is a good representation of how many standard drivers act). You will see a massive increase in output toward the top-end and a massive decrease at the bottom-end over stroke. On the Z v.4 you will not see this -- the response remains relatively unchanged over stroke. So compared to a less linear driver the increase in bottom-end over stroke can be MASSIVE as it simply does not drop off over stroke... but you won't hear the "punch" at the top-end generated by the distortion modes of shifting parameters. ----- In many conversations with Dan Wiggins this theme came up... with XBL^2 you greatly reduce the QTS rise from a BL perspective (we are reducing it from a suspension perspective which also greatly reduces FS shift). Even then people complained that the Brahma drivers were not "punchy" -- what they actually were complaining about was a lack of distortion. Down the line I plan to combine our suspension platform with a linear BL topology as well. That definitely won't be for everyone as the shifts of every parameter will decrease even further. ----- In any event -- I expected to hear these type of reviews based on what people said about XBL^2 drivers 10+ years ago. Bottom line, to me, is that the design is objectively superior and fits what customers told me they wanted from their subs -- the most bottom end possible. Our SPL suspension system that is in the works for the new platform will offer a more "traditional" sound and also work better for higher frequency SPL for the same reason. ----- PS : Thanks for your review OP
  7. Just came in about an hour ago ! So they are now in full stock in 6.5 , 8 , and 10" models in 8 ohm and 4 ohm. * Included Speaker Caulk
  8. We unloaded these last week -- they are fully in stock in D2 and D4 coils at the same price as always. Rating is now 500-watts RMS due to the longer coil and modifications to the soft parts. They feature a longer coil, bigger surround, deeper motor structure, and a few other minor modifications. The E-15 v.2 will be coming at some point in October to November.
  9. Our friend Nick Lemons (of Obsidian Audio and Stereo Integrity) was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis about six years ago and a good friend of ours, Terri, will be riding her bike in a huge event held every year to help raise awareness and funds to find a cure for MS. Terri will be riding in the Bike MS Atlanta Ride this September 14'th. From now until September 14'th for every $10 you donate you will get one entry towards the raffle to win a pair of Obsidian Audio 12" v2 subwoofers and a Prototype Obsidian Audio OA-1 1200 watt amplifier PLUS a pair of Obsidian Audio ST-1 tweeters! For instance, if you donate $50 you will be entered five times. If you donate $100 you will be entered ten times. If you donate $10 you will be entered once. Be SURE to put "Obsidian Audio" or "OA" either in the "Recognition Name" field or the second "Street 2" field. Simply find a place to put our company name in with your donation so we know to enter you in the raffle. If you do not do this you will not be entered for a chance to win. 10. Z v.4 production woofers haven't made it in yet ; we are building the 10s as none were made production -- if you ordered one it's on the build list. You can check your position with Bryan -- [email protected] PS : If you post asking for any information... a name would be nice
  11. Call forwarding on the old number now works. So back to business as usual as far as that goes.
  12. New number to use for now until call forwarding is enabled : 828-459-1980 -- our old 704-528-9700 number will still work after today (assuming AT&T gets it done) as a forwarder to the new lines. We'll be re-working the system a bit to have 3 lines that roll over when one is busy once it's all complete!
  13. The X-8 will like the same boxes as the SA-8 v.2 -- we did test up to 1 cube but you will have to watch mechanics a bit on the full 750 RMS (clamped anyway).
  14. AT&T has the new lines setup here (3 lines) -- once our Talkswitch box is transferred should be good to go. Hopefully that is hooked up this evening or tomorrow at latest.
  15. Our phone system is DOWN today completely while AT&T moves our number to the new facility. We've been forwarding it via the internet back to our Talkswitch box in Troutman up until now; but we are getting the whole deal officially moved today. If you must contact us please e-mail [email protected] and he can ask anyone else any questions you may have as well. I will post ASAP once the phone system move is completed. Our old number will STILL work via forwarding @ the phone company and we will also have a new "official" phone number.
  16. We need to build one with a stiffer spider to really benefit Sean's application. We stack 5-6 spiders on his SA-8 v.2
  17. A bit more SPL than the SA-8 v.2 line -- they do NOT lack bottom-end, though
  18. Also... ETA is pending on them but my best guess on it is November to December.
  19. Been working on this guy for a while now... what I hope to be final prototypes just arrived a few days back. Based on our testing I am going with a 750 RMS rating on these. I won't say people will not be able to run more... but that is our official rating. They will cost $210 from an authorized dealer. Production models will, of course, have a gasket and magnet boot. ----- * Compared with SA-8 v.2 * Compared with SA-8 v.2 * Compared with X-6.5SW * Compared with X-6.5SW
  20. There are no options available; just stock re-cone.
  21. Spec sheet from factory LMS : I measured Le on my Woofer Tester II as that was not included at 1.81 mH
  22. Individual orders are either drop-ship orders from online dealers or direct pre-orders with us. Some dealers ordered their own stock and will be shipping their orders from that; we do not have information on who ordered those woofers. We did not pre-sell any directly to Canada that I'm aware of. So I have no information on an order for you.
  23. Our life-test at the factory passed 300-watts RMS for 12-hours full bandwidth in a sealed box -- so I will probably rate it around that. JUST got the e-mail in confirming that -- we'll also do our own tests.
