  1. The DD does look pretty mean. Honestly I probably wouldn't do it without tooling a frame to make it work great; not just work well.
  2. Possibly -- what market do you think this would be going for exactly ?
  3. Essentially the only real T/S change is the Le -- which dropped from 7.70 mH to 4.85 mH on the D4 coil
  4. D2 specs with a very short break-in period : Re : 3.94 ohms Fs : 34.62 Hz Qes : 0.52 Qms : 4.34 Qts : 0.46 Le : 3.57 mH Vas : 17.16 L BL : 23.28 NA Mms : 328.7 g Cms : 64.27 uM/N SPL : 83.11 dB 1w/1m Xmax : 19.0mm one-way Bl^2/Re : 138
  5. It's not very difficult -- especially on the SA as the gap is fairly loose.
  6. I got my samples in with shorting rings and new pole flares -- I will be breaking them in to measure T/S within a week or so in order to get "official" updated TS for the site for SA-10/12/15 : * NEW FLARE * OLD FLARE The flare will also allow people to immediately identify if an SA has a shorting ring or not -- as only SA-10/12/15s with this style flare will have a shorting ring.
  7. D4 specs with a very short break-in period : Re : 7.00 ohms Fs : 34.61 Hz Qes : 0.57 Qms : 4.45 Qts : 0.51 Le : 5.05 mH Vas : 17.39 L BL : 29.23 NA Mms : 324 g Cms : 65.1 uM/N SPL : 82.7 dB 1w/1m Xmax : 19.0mm one-way Bl^2/Re : 122 With break-in the Fs and Qts will drop a bit as well.

  9. Some of the parts were completed -- I am awaiting pictures and information. As with anything really cool it is taking longer than expected
  10. And the X-12 prototype with copper coils arrived : They spec out well... motor force is where I want it as are other specs. Some more details to go and we may run these and open pre-ordering.
  11. When you take stuff out of the container it expands like Chinese carry-out rice : * Can't fit them all in one frame *laughs* Guess we'll need those pallet racks sooner than later ! And the X-12 prototype with copper coils arrived : They spec out well... motor force is where I want it as are other specs. Some more details to go and we may run these and open pre-ordering.
  12. This was to be a week of catching up on e-mails BUT the container of SA speakers showed up about a week early so we've spent the week unloading, sorting, and shipping the SA woofers. I've done as many e-mails as possible during but still have over 100 messages to do. If I can wake up early one day this weekend before my family I'll try and tear through them and get everyone taken care of. Thanks for the patience guys !
  13. Great news ! Congrats Scottie -- here is to continued growth and quality products ! :drink40: Will have to catch up at SBN for sure.
  14. The older SAE-1000D can be strapped. Some people have ran them at 0.5 without issue.
  15. Container is about 15% unloaded so far... at least another full day on that. Then we can sort and start shipping first of next week.
  16. SA-8/10/12/15 will be fully in stock again... container is here. Will be a day or two to unload and a couple more after to sort and ship things. But you can order now from your dealer.
  17. Another idea I'm toying with... brass plating the motors. It would add no cost to the customer (some cost on my end of course) but would look really neat, IMO... I am getting a sample to see how it looks in person and post pictures. Also since there is a conductive metal IN the gap it is a bit of additional inductance reduction. Not as much as actual thick sleeves but it's something This would be a unique and different alternative to chrome to provide a better quality finish than black paint.
  18. I got some initial specs in from the units with shorting ring and the inductance drop is quite large. For the SQ guys out there this will be a nice bonus in distortion reduction!
  19. It is not -- we don't have the surround separate from the cones.
  20. Testing is going quite well... we are within a few tenths of the SPL coil and catching up on the bottom end (only ~1.5 dB down @ 30 Hz adjusted for power). The v.2 equalizes with the v.1 at 40 Hz and is louder above -- whereas the v.1 SPL coil was behind until 50 Hz and was REALLY far behind under 40 Hz. It looks like with the slightly softer version of the v.2 spider we will have 90% of the SPL performance of the SPL coil v.1 and 90% of the low-end performance of the v.1 all in the same driver
  21. Now remember where you saw these features first -- on OUR woofer. Our research, our tooling.
