  1. Family Photo : I may tool new surrounds for the 10, 12, and 15 -- currently the roll is equal to the SA series. Some torture testing is in order
  2. Any small 800-watt Class-D would do a fine job of powering four of these. Our SAX-1200D would be a bit over-kill but could do it if turned down accordingly.
  3. Don't worry - I already addressed it for production Was supposed to be a 15mm bump-out in the back plate that wasn't there on prototypes -- will be on production.
  4. My prototypes are here and they are fantastic... the 18" has an incredible amount of throw... I actually bottomed it out free air. Fortunately I have modifications for production that provide 15mm more mechanical clearance rearward =) I may tool new surrounds for them before production as well -- but that is pending more testing... as these surrounds are actually already pretty darn good.
  5. They sound good on regular music -- I don't think a video would be so exciting as my camera mic isn't great.
  6. Another benefit on the Z v.3 is that all Nightshade coils fit this motor -- NS v.1, NS v.2, and NS v.2 SPL
  7. Yes, they will use the same boxes as the Z v.2 models.
  8. Currently estimating about 10% less cost based on some rough figures this morning -- but I am using estimated figures for the packing materials, SH charges for the coil, and import fees. If these items fall under estimates could be as much as 12-15% less in the end. It also will drastically speed up lead time on the Z series... as we won't have to schedule the build time -- we just test and ship them out.
  9. We will see once I finalize everything and calculate shipping, packing, etc. I use a simple formula based on my cost to reach the final price of a product.
  10. The 14.4v thing is just standard print from the factory... have meant to change it but always forget to do so as other things are more important
  11. Yep - typically an SAZ remote is $12.50 shipped in the USA
  12. Leaving from work early today to attend MECA Finals -- I won't be on the forums this weekend and emails will be limited. I'll be back to work on Monday.
  13. Great score How much port area are you running ?
  14. Well... I put in a temp setup for nSPL finals and haven't taken it out yet + my Jeep has a belt problem so it's sitting at my parents house until we fix it. Couldn't make it all the way back to the shop with it.

  16. Team Sundown has a no-wall with 24x 12s in the 157s at 35 Hz already Hank has to be original!
  17. If you pay attention to the limits like we are -- probably never within reason. We have 100 or so burps on it already.
  18. You will still hit mechanical limits before thermal on the SA-8 with copper or aluminum coil. I have yet to see one burn a coil except one customer who wired theirs out of phase.
  19. Driver side kick panel -- 152.1 dB -- we had done 152.2 earlier but didn't get it on video... have a photo of the score that I will upload later :
  20. This was done in Sean's CRX and was designed for an organization that meters in the kick panel. With a box re-tune to his dash note of 64 Hz I am confident we could still break a 150 on the dash -- but that isn't the goal for this setup as it was designed for a particular reason and class. I'm not going to go through the "it's a CRX" or "it's outlaw" or "it's not 30 Hz" arguments in this thread... constructive comments welcome. If you simply want to hate on something then don't read this thread.
  21. I understand that there are people that really don't care about SPL, that is totally fine! That also doesn't mean you need to dump on SPL. I like to drive cars... but I don't drag race -- but I don't call drag racers stupid and pointless. This type of thing fuels product development... the need for an 8" driver that could hold up to this type of thing is WHY I made the SA-8. I have pages and pages of data from the last two days of testing that I will be using to keep making the SA-8 better for everyone -- whether they do SPL burps or not. If you don't like this discussion then stop reading it. I will delete any further silly comments.
  22. A stock re-cone is $30 -- they are $50 with an 8-layer aluminum. They are ONLY available on re-cones.
  23. Sure is lucky we didn't ask you Seriously, though, someone ALWAYS has to be "that guy" in every SPL thread... It's for a specific SPL competition organization... actually the results we are getting a very useful in product development as well.
