  1. It's not blocked off - there is a hole in the pole cap.
  2. We should be ready to start building and shipping next week.
  3. After numerous death threats (JK) I decided to stay late and post some pictures *laughs* Here you go guys : This particular one is about to be built for Brandon's truck.
  4. The best part is the 1 ohm testing -- it really blows the SAZ-1000D out of the water there. I can't find my sheet with the exact figures on this exact test bench setup but it's is around 50% more powerful with a rise to 2 ohms than the SAZ-1000D was. The difference is closer to the expected 20% when dropped down lower but we concentrated on making more usable power at a real load for the daily customer and it delivers.
  5. Two Stinger SPV-70 Batteries / 40-amp Power Supply / 8 awg wire power and Ground (this amp should have 4 awg) Wired to 1 ohm nominal : 1170 Watts @ 12.5 volts 1.97 ohms after impedance rise Wired to 0.5 ohm nominal : 1490 Watts @ 11.1 volts 0.85 ohms after impedance rise --- Measured with my Extech True RMS power clamp meter several seconds into the tone @ 60 Hz -- this typically reads about ~15-16% less than a "dual peak hold" amp clamp test. We'll do some more testing with a more adequate power wire coming up soon. The test bench 4 awg has the ends tinned so is a bit too big to go into the SAX-1200D terminals -- will need to get it in a vehicle.
  6. Amps are here - starting to ship them. Should be done w/ pre-ordered amps by Friday as expected.
  7. The motors just showed up today. I haven't put up pricing yet, but I will soon once we get caught up and start building them.
  8. Thanks - will pass it on to the web guy... Initial content is up on 2500D and 1200D pages... some information on SA-8 added. Will be working on it over the next few days.
  9. Site got some updates -- just need to fill in all the details on the product pages.
  10. Alex was going to be up here last night but ended up not being able to make it but he did take a picture of the meter : He said he'll work on getting a video too - and maybe we can figure out another time for him to come up to the shop to take some videos at Sundown HQ
  11. Called my shipping company and they say I should have my pallets on Tuesday -- would be sooner but Holiday closings are delaying it a bit. So... we'll be shipping as many amps as we can next week, hope to have pre-orders cleared out by Friday next week.
  12. Possibly... working on a Neo 8 : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/80178-project-im-working-on/ ------- PS: My battery terminals are almost done... then it's testing time!
  13. Pre-ordering closed. Depending on how fast the truck is I will have these somewhere between this Friday and next Wednesday.

  15. Honestly... has very little to do with it Spent alot of time talking with guys in the industry over the years - that was the #1 thing.
  16. Don't plan on it - contact Derrick for custom sizes.
  17. Working on it guys... have done 100+ emails today so far. Should be caught up again in a few more days. Thanks for the patience.
  18. Almost forgot about that earlier... I did change the MAP price to + shipping on them so dB-R charged you correctly.
  19. Oh yah... drop-ins are $30 + SH... so they are quite affordable. Highly suggest CA glue under the spider and then a bead of epoxy around it like so : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/Tutorial-How-strengthen-spider-landing-t39093.html These little things do have a high motor force and lots of throw so the spider landing glue takes a beating.
  20. Built a pair of drop-ins for a customer so I took a few shots. Yes... we stock parts even for our 2" coil drivers - I can't stand to see sub motors get thrown away (hang on E8 v.1 guys... working on updated parts for those). * Top triple joint action - we assemble these ourselves so it's all done with heavy duty CA glue like the Z v.2 and Nightshades. * Side view. Surround is a little bowed from sitting in it's shipping box, the cone is straight no problem * Rear triple joint support ring in place like the bigger SA woofers. * Your SA-8 make a ticking sound at high excursion? Guess what ? It moved about 28mm rearward and your triple joint ring hit the top plate. Needless to say the spider allows alot of travel and it's backed by a really strong motor... so be careful!
  21. I sent a bunch of SA woofers to a guy on a road with Sundown in the name recently - pretty cool.
