  1. It is a 2" coil -- as it is a step down from our 2.5" coil SA line. I really didn't design it with Street Stock in mind.
  2. I am not planning an 8" for this line any time soon... but I am planning 10s, 12s, and 15s... also... I do not have an ETA just yet, first prototypes are on the way then testing will be in order for a while to make sure the design suits all of my requirements. Just though I would offer a sneak peak of the 15" model. Initial MSRP also posted... may be subject to small changes based on tweaks needed. I AM planning to use spring loaded push terminals on production... I don't like the spade connectors. Some T/S Specs measured on the Klippel machine at the factory... I will measure them myself as well once my prototypes arrive. 10" S4 Coil MSRP: $130 Re: 3.86 ohms Fs: 31.8 Hz Qts: 0.373 Qms: 8.401 Qes: 0.390 BL: 14.562 NA Cms: 0.234 mm/N Mms: 107 g 12" D4 Coils: MSRP: $150 Re: 7.4 ohms Fs: 23.9 Hz Qts: 0.576 Qms: 8.182 Qes: 0.620 BL: 16.324 NA Cms: 0.298 mm/N Mms: 148 g 15" D4 Coils: MSRP: $170 Re: 7.61 ohms Fs: 23.3 Hz Qts: 0.890 Qms: 11.72 Qes: 0.963 BL: 16.925 Cms: 0.189 mm/N Mms: 247 g
  3. Have you e-mailed me about it ? I am a little behind on e-mails but working on going through them.
  4. Once production motors are in hit me up.
  5. I was caught up for a few days but have a back log again... so if you haven't heard back from me yet expect a reply Monday - Tuesday.
  6. Any sub built after the original production run has the longer coil. Honestly... the subs don't move very far anyway. The box keeps them well under control.
  7. We can try some comparison in your car too Zach -- I know that in my Jeep I'm gaining a good bit vs. the NS v.1 -- especially at lower power.
  8. Just behind a few days on e-mails -- will get @ it as soon as I can.
  9. Shorting rings are clear powder coated as well -- can't really tell any difference except they feel smooth and look a little glossy :
  10. As promised here are pictures of the triple joint ring (this is why I added 10mm of spacing with the shorting ring) : * The ridge part faces the winding... gets filled with glue. * Another view. Made in Concord, NC from a very high temperature material... takes ~530 degrees to mold it and they tell me that unless I get it up to around 500 or so it won't deform from the formed shape. Simple part... but should help alot with excessive abuse. I am planning to round the edge that touches the spider as well to keep it from sawing into the spider over time.
  11. The NS v.2 prototype motor should be making it's way to me soon... as will production Z v.2 motors. So I should have some fun testing soon !
  12. Little information on the NS v.2 model... coil will be 71mm long standard. These coils will be 1.0 / 1.9 DCR for D1 / D2 configurations. Coil of choice for daily beating right here. I will work on a bit shorter coil version for the 0.7 / 1.4 crowd... likely around 56mm or so on those. These will be for guys trying to get DCR down for SPL applications.
  13. How are you measuring the rise ? Using voltage and current measurements and calculating, right ?

  15. As long as your are playing this amp @ 1 ohm it will sound very much like the SAZ line.
  16. I cannot -- the hole cut-out is way too big. We cut it slightly too big for the SA-8 even (hence the duct tape) and the DD cut-out is smaller. Now... Derrick and I plan to build another box and get the hole cut-out perfect... if so then the DD should seal up with some duct tape.
  17. Side by side photos with the 1508 : I am re-building the SA-8 right now so I don't have a side by side cone shot
  18. I bought two DD 1508 to compare T/S specs to... the DD 1508 is WELL broken in as it is used. Sundown SA-8 (D2) / DD 1508 (D4) : RE: 3.28 ohms (series) / 7.48 ohms (series) FS: 41.6 Hz / 44.6 Hz Qes: 0.513 / 0.844 Qms: 6.606 / 9.217 Qts: 0.476 / 0.773 Le: 2.778 mH / 6.446 mH Vas: 3.285 L / 4.672 L BL: 17.138 N/A / 17.78 N/A Cms: 83.341 um/N / 99.97 uM/ N Mms: 175.654 g / 126.977 g Sens: 78.476 dB @ 1w/1m / 78.77 dB @ 1w/1m BL^2/RE: 89.5 / 42.26 BL^2/RE is an indication of static motor strength. Since BL doesn't tell you how strong a motor is without knowing the DCR this measure allows you to compare speakers with different DCR to each other. For comparison shoppers this will give you an idea of what works best for you -- I couldn't find the T/S anywhere else for the 1508s so I got some

  20. It would be cheaper to get one from Derrick.
