You will be able to get an idea on an ETA once we have an ETA on the new 12" basket tooling... until then there is no ETA.
I do not expect MAP price to be under $500 -- as the NS v.2 was $525 MAP
Not immediately outside of perhaps a few special order for SPL use. Neither the 12-spoke or 4-spoke frame allows proper clearance and spider size to take advantage of this motor for daily musical applications... working on a solution to the basket issue, though
will there be any new versions of the nightshade 12 this year?
If we wrap up our basket tool there will be.
We had guts in a few of the early intro threads -- but they are here :
NS-1 on top and 4500D on bottom. The results Greg and his guys has shown speak for themselves I think
Just finished unloading... will ship pre-orders next week as they all must be tested. I am very happy so far with how they turned out -- hope that customers enjoy them as much as I think they will !
If I ever get time I may drop one of these in my Jeep and see if I can still do a 150 with one of these 15s *laughs* Would be fun to try at least.
Right -- the magnet can be as close to the box wall as you want now.
I also didn't have enough room in the back plate to drill through and not hit the shorting ring -- the v.1 didn't have a shorting ring.
High frequency SPL is not the specialty of this woofer -- the inherently high inductance of the coil is not beneficial for these applications (we are using a huge internal shorting ring to get it as low as we can, of course). I will work on a few other coil variations that will do better at 50+ Hz than the standard 12-layer once these are in production.

More bottom end at 30 Hz and below, lower distortion in every major category (BL, CMS, Le), greatly reduced mechanical noise, higher long-term and burst power handling, and enhanced ruggedness (double leads, bigger spider, etc).
If you have Paypal you can order that way -- for any further questions please e-mail [email protected]
Your amp is a 2 ohm stable unit so you need two D2 coil subs.
Do you mean on the gasket ? If so then I would suggest a weather stripping around the hole and/or reversing the gasket.
I suppose that is what I mean. Sorry for being such a I didn't know you could reverse it, is it pretty easy to do or will I have to take it apart and glue it together and probably make a big mess of things?
The gasket just slips on -- no glue.
