  1. Pretty loud so far at about 3-4mm excursion on the subs *laughs* I think we need some more gain on it due to not having the line driver and using a TON of splitters. For some reason the line driver isn't coming on - we have taken it apart and can't find any issues with it so it's a mystery for now.
  2. The gaskets literally touch and have to be tapped in place with a hammer *laughs* That is how tight it is.
  3. We don't need to ship them -- Hank is here and they are about to start going in
  4. Subs all tested and laid out for installation :
  5. http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc213/DBDesignsElite/DBDesignsInc%20%20Sundown%20SA%20Build%201/?action=view&current=MVI_1302.mp4 Not just a burp... he really wailed on them for a while in the 152 to 153 dB range. Video is dark but we'll take more when he makes it up here
  6. We, Sundown Audio, are putting in another SAX-1200D and a pair of SA-10s.
  7. Obviously this does not cover EVERY step of the process But you can get a good idea of what goes into it !
  8. A customer ordered four 15s and I am just about done with the first so I took a few pictures along the build process : * Rear triple joint glue and ring - the ring is smaller than the gap and centered so can go down into the gap at extremely high rearward throw. * Close-up of the glue. * Spider pack is pressed with a laser cut steel plate and a Z v.2 motor to ensure good bonding of the glue between the frame and spider layers. * Terminals have a locking toothed washer * Soldered - and a dab of glue added to the stud on top of the nut and washer for long term safety. * Special surround glue - dries flexible and won't hurt the surround material. * Finished cone to spider joint. * Top triple joint ring initial placement. * Some glue added. * Final glue bead. * Leads fully encapsulated. * Leads placed into the cone - care taken to allow adequate slack for high excursion. Suffice to say the NS v.2 is put together quite well.
  9. The motor is simply too strong for an SQ alignment, period. Will they play music ? Sure will. Some people might even like the sound, but there will be no way to get a flat response out of it.
  10. The biggest gain to be seen is in continuous power handling from v.1 to v.2 -- that and the new coil materials
  11. Tight suspension = Low VAS Ultra Strong Motoe = Low Qts Both of these = tiny box.
  12. Just finished #4 and #5 production units built so far... have many more to build next week. This is a pair of 15s for a Team member - typically the dust caps are silk screened but we ran out so these will get vinyls with the logo tomorrow : May even have test results from these as early as tomorrow.
  13. We are still too busy for me to work on any of my personal projects.
  14. Terminals are here - they are SWEET... made by "toolmaker" on the forums. We are also working on rear distribution bars for the CRX. I can do initial testing without those, though.
  15. No, you cannot get one in the prototype case... unless you buy the prototypes.
  16. Yep. Each one is hooked up to a 1500D and played to the point where they start to make mechanical noise (really far) for a bit to make sure everything is put together well.
  17. Ken, This plug isn't really a "plug" per-se as it has a hole it in -- it is simply an air-flow director. The SA series all come standing with it too. I haven't noticed any parameter shift with it as it's combined with a fairly "loose" gap so back pressure isn't super high.
