  1. I had a g&s competition 700. What a beast! They are the model number in watts at 4 ohm. They are 2 ohm stable but NOT bridge able. Look for almost double the power at 2 ohms. I also contacted PPI about them in the day and they did not have any other info on them. I still regret selling my 700..
  2. I like that I wonder how many people have used 2 shaft players. This really makes ya think how far tech has really come ome good some bad. I wonder what will be instore for the next 20 or so years. IMO one of the best things to come out that I wish we had back in the day. Is Steves' Destortion Detector that would have made a big difference in installs back in the day. Where was you back then Steve you could have made it for us then LOL. Also remember when I discovered the shafts were adjustable it made things much easier!!
  3. dammit you stole my year... make it two pieces of vintage I have just the matched set to cover both of you. Gotta take a walk with my wife but will be back in a few.
  4. I was thinking, some of us old timers have some real nice classic audio collections dating back 20-30 years. Let's play a game, match the birth year with some of the younger members. If you are under 30 post your birth year and we can try to match up a piece of or collection built the same year. Any takers? Could be a good chance to post up some great classic audio gear.
  5. Big four-oh checking in. I have amps older than many of the members on here!
  6. No pets as of now. We do have a cat trying to adopt us at the moment but we have TRIED to stay pet free for the last few years because of our work schedule. Many thanks for the offer though!
  7. Good stuff I hope she is one of the few that actually gives good advice and can keep some of our pups healthy. The Science diet and Iams guys are not doing it.. Science diet RD (for heavier dogs) is 90% peanut shells. the rest is added flavors and the poor dogs are starved for nutrition. The end up with no energy, skin diseases, etc. BUUUT Vets reccomend it so it MUST be good...
  8. My brother always said never give the liver to the dogs.....any truth to that? The deer is being turned into Brisket,Roast,Jerky and Steak.... As far as the liver thing there is nothing wrong with givign a dog deer parts as long as they are thoroughly cooked... That information came from my g/f who is a liscensed Vet. Technician From what I have heard (may be completely false) Vets get about 2 hours the entire time they are in school about animal nutrition and normally is is sponsored by Iams or Sceince diet. Reat up on the B.A.R.F. Diet. want a healthy pet, feed them raw foods. Vet told me my Golden Retriever had about 6 months to live, I changed his diet to B.A.R.F. and had him for an additional 6 wonderful years.
  9. Thanks Steve! I just found a buyer for the amp I was going to list so it is all good.
  10. I was always taught, if you don't have something nice to say.... I visit all the time to collect knowledge but I try not to comment most of the time because many of the younger members would think I am an A$$.. There are just so many young people that really do not know what a true Audiophile is but think they are one (or the little hoodlums that post sometimes that just need a boot in the a$$..) So, I have been here for a long time, I am a nice guy, so I don't post.
  11. You need 150. I have been a member since 07 and have less than 60 posts..
  12. I was going to sell some gear but saw that I need a bit more posts first. With my present rate I should be good in about 5 years! Lol
  13. I am lucky if I can pull 133-135db in the Mini but the bass is tight and smooth like I want it to be. If I wanted to, I have a stack of 10" HX2's a and any of 30+ amps sitting around but I don't brag about how loud I "Could be" It just that those threads are such a waste of bandwidth..
  14. SO this dude thinks he is louder than me. Is the way they start their threads... Guys, unless you are sitting in the lanes with a meter attached, who gives a fawk if a dude with some Sony subs thinks he is louder than you.. really some of the threads on here are pathetic. Or if your system will be louder when you get XX brand subs or XX brand amps.. If you don't have them.. you don't have jack. What is the point of your arguments? "some day you will be louder" and once again WHO cares? I have been in car audio for over 20 years and I hear things like the above so much it just drives me mad. If you are happy with your install/equipment then cool but the "bench bass racing" is pathetic. Now I am not knocking anyone posting up a nice build because we all want to see them, quality install are like art. But, the high school parking lot stories have to end... Sorry if this seems like a rant... but it is... Oh, and how do you know if it is you that I am talking about? Look for the old "cool story bro".
  15. in layman terms, Yes! Hardest part is getting the top plate off in my opinion. sanding is not a good idea though, scrape it clean with a razor blade.
  16. That is a 10-15 minute job to fix. I did it on one of my HX2 motors. Pull the top plate off, clean both sides, build an alignment tool (Card board tubes sliced and layered work great), epoxy or good CA glue. Once the glue is on the magnet, lower the top plate in place using the alignment tool already in the gap. Let it dry for 24 hours or so. Motor is ready to rock again.. (make sure to keep the ca glue off of the alignment tool though as it will be a bitch to pull out if it is glued in place!
  17. I have a Mini Cooper S with a DD SS1a on a Custom Team PSI 10 in a stealth style install. I am about to do a box with 4 custom built 12 spoke 10" HX2's on a T15001-bd as well. http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=162&pictureid=2131 http://www.celicatech.com/gallery/files/7/8/img_0177.jpg http://www.celicatech.com/gallery/files/7/8/p1030281.jpg http://www.celicatech.com/gallery/files/7/8/p1030279.jpg Sorry but the board won't allow me to link my pics from another site where I have them.
  18. I see your location is Schweinfurt, if it is still, You commander can do an ETP to allow you "limited Driving" such as to Appts, place of worship, home and iff you live off post they can allow you to drive to and from work. Was it your USAREUR certificate that was expired or your stateside license? If it is your stateside license, Most states are valid until you return to the state after your military service. (I wish it was that nice for Civilians working for the military also)
  19. Why, did they break the law or did you? Are you just pissed at them for catching you doing something? I don't know your situation but I hate when people blame others when they screw up. If you screwed up then take the punishment and learn from it.. I have seen too many times when someone gets let off for something and don't learn from it and screw up even worse (people get killed or hurt).. Deal with it man.
