  1. You doing Ok man?

  2. Boss 330's. 22X9.5 I believe. Thanks. I remember last time I did a build on this site and put together my Explorer, everyone kept saying I should have went with 22's instead of 20's. I liked the ride quality of the larger sidewall and roads here suck. I have to daily drive about 100 miles for work. Back and forth through town. So I like my ride quality. That is why I only want to drop the truck 2/4. To maintain that ride. So anyways, now that I am doing another build, I figured, I would go with 22's. Little less sidewall this time, but it still rides good. I am just waiting on everyone to tell me I should have put 24's on it now LOL. Those are too big for me.
  3. I am thinking hard about Type-R's. But I have had RE xxx's, and have also had FI BTL's. I like to hit. But I know I won't fit those under the seat and know the airspace won't allow it, unless I walled it off. Been there done that, not doing it again. Refer to the avatar. Anyways, maybe some entry level FI's or RE's will do. I also get Alpine wholesale and Powerbass. So maybe that would be a better route. As for the box. I might go sealed first to see how I like it to be simple. Post up results, and if I want louder, then go ported. MDF isn't that much. Fiberglass would be the costly part, but still isn't that bad. And besides, I will still go for the gold on airspace. I will lift the seat about 2 inches and get all the air I possibly can. Then if I don't like the way it sounds...Port the box I have already.
  4. Well, I got a new truck the other day, and already have plans for it. Here she is sitting at the car lot waiting for me to buy it. And here she is all cleaned up in the yard. Windows are already tinted a little bit. But I think I want to go darker.. So the work begins. First things first. Tinkering under the hood. I replaced the filter with a K&N, and also drilled out the air box to make a ram air behind the passenger side headlight. Then I removed the screen from the MAF. Took it out for a test spin, and it actually picked up a bit of torque and some power. Noticeably. Nice. Next thing to do is clean up the outside a bit. I removed the bug deflector, chrome fender well trim, tool box, side moldings, and side badging. Still need to remove the rear badging, just haven't got around to it yet. Those oem wheels look a little blah...Soooo, new shoes. Headlights were crappy also. So I put some 6k HID's in them. Coming soon... Fiberglass flush tonneau cover painted to match. Belltech 2/4 drop System still under planning 4-10's. Not sure what I am using yet. Roll pan SS front bumper Maybe darker ting Maybe smoked tail lights and headlights, or removable covers Maybe billet grilles Thinking of getting mirrors and handles painted to match also. Also like this truck, just not sure if I really want a body kit or not..Opinions are greatly appreciated.
  5. I want to be loud too...Just not sure if I want to port or go sealed. Sealed would be a quick build. Ported would take some actual time. Where did you get those vents from? I don't have a router also, which is a draw back, to round over where the ports would go. I pretty much had all my tools stolen by a crack head. All I have is a dremel. I have to go buy a circular saw and a jig saw just for this project. I won't have money for a router.
  6. That is exactly what I was looking for. I just might steal your whole setup. What did it hit on the mic? On music? You did raise the seat though. I was trying to do it without raising the seat. Any issues with people riding in the back and head clearance?
  7. I said in my first post that I wedged the woofer between the seat and carpet. It was tight. That was just a 10 also. I would like to see some pics of your setup you did with the Alpine 10. I was thinking of using those also.
  8. Ok, so i am looking for ideas on building a box from MDF and fiberglass to go under the seat of my extended cab 04 Silverado. I want to go with 4-10's. Not positive on what brand yet. I am thinking Powerbass because I get them wholesale. Anyways, I held one up to the rear seat between the carpet and the bottom of the seat, and the ring hits the bottom of the seat and the floor. Basically I can wedge the woofer between the seat and floor. So that obviously won't work as far as basic box design goes. The only way to get it to where it fires forward will be if I raise the seat up about an inch, or cut the carpet out. I am not doing that either. So I figure maybe I can put the woofer on a 45 degree down fire style setup to make clearance. I am thinking of taking a mold of the back of the under side of the seat and cab to get as much air space as possible and then attaching a flush plain of MDF to the front and top with the woofers on it. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please throw them out. The goal is to get 4-10's under the seat. I haven't seen it done before, so I want to be different.
  9. Cool project. Next time be sure to put in a little more attention to the sanding and filling process.
  10. For the original shape of the enclosure if building off a frame use fleece. White like mentioned above. You can get it at walmart. I just use the generic polyester resin from Lowe's. It is cheaper because you can buy big cans of it and save money. If your making a mold for an enclosure then use a lighter oz. mat. You want it to be able to take the shape of what you are trying to do. If you use too heavy of an oz. of mat, it will try to not take the shape. Falling off on curves and what not. I believe it always works best for me when applying several light coats of mat and resin. Use the paint brush and use a stabbing motion to ensure all the air bubbles are out of the mat and that it completely soaks through the mat. Use the same method for the fleece.

  12. So Circuit City is soon to be no more....Means all the installers out there are losing their jobs.....FUCK THAT! Also, I had a spoiler on my car that a friend wanted. He knew a guy that had a spoiler that I wanted. It was for sale. He said he was going to buy that spoiler, and trade me for mine. I said ok. I was going to just go buy the spoiler from that guy and sell mine to my buddy after waiting two months for him to eventually buy it. He decided to keep it, and I am not cool with him anymore...I had the money and could have bought it, but he fucked me. FUCK THAT SHIT!!!
