Ya I have no idea how to do a screenshot either! Fail on me!

I'm on google chrome and mine did the same thing. It's the topic watched listing that's usually at the top right of the list. When you click on "forum" and then at the top it has a line that says "view the latest news". To the right of that was the "watched content" tab right there. Now it's over half way down the page. This happened a couple days ago to me.

Ok so here's what I see. My plans in my truck include an AQ3500d.1, and 3 AQ4x90's. So let me break it down the way i'm understanding it based on what you guys have said. AQ3500D.1 max - 7500watts @ 18v (7500 ÷ 18) 416.99a x 20% = 83.33 + 416.99 = 499.99 amps AQ4X90 max - 360watts @ 14.4v (360 / 14.4) 25 x 20% = 5 +25 = 30 amps x 3 = 90 amps 499.99 + 90 = 598 amps total Looking at batteries, im guessing the ah is what needs to bepaid attention to. In this case the xspower D3100 has an ah of 110. So that leads me to this formula. 598.99 (amps) / 110 = 5.45 So taking that into account I would need 6 batteries for the audio system. For the 598.99 amps, I would need either: 2 - 300 amp alternators Or 3 - 270 amp alternators It depends on what are made for my truck. Power wire, i'm a little sketchy on. I looked at a couple of places and i'm seeing a rating of 119 amps, 250 amps, and 350 amps for 1/0 ga. So I went with 250. 598.99 amps / 250 amps = 2.40 So that's 3 runs of 1/0 for positive and then match with 3 for negative. So here's the final list as I see it: 2 - 300 amp alts or 3 - 270 amp alts 6 - xspower d3100 batteries 6 - runs of 1/0 ga cable (3 pos & 3 neg) Am I close or where am I at? I know I need fuses also.

So here's the deal. I'm trying to figure out some stuff. I've been doing audio for a while but I'm by no means a pro or even close to it. What I want to know is how do you determine how to build a power system? Let me explain a little. I see some of these builds where you have 4 18's and guys have like 8 batteries and 15 runs of 1/0ga from front to back, and 4 alternators to help and all this shit. HOW do guys come up with that? Look at Meade's build for instance. He's running 4 18's, 8 RF 2500.bbcd's. Lots of power there for just subs. He throws in the 2 1000.4's and a 600.2 for a grand total of 30k watts, as it says. So to power it he has 4 mechman 350 amp alternators, 10 xs power D3100 batteries, and the xs power voltage control module. Then he runs 6 1/0 ga positive cables from front to back, and 6 1/0 ga negative cables front to back. Then another obscene amount to the battery bank. I know it's a crap load of power, a ton of batteries and that's why the amount of wires, but how does one determine how much you need? I'd love to learn more about this to help in designing my truck system. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thank you.
