what kinda crossover is it...and exactly what is wrong with it? just incase I run into the same problem in the future

Oh nah.....never anything like that....Its a forum, people's opions are going to differ. I was just letting u know I wasnt ragging on Panasonic, I just dont like em. Thats all....But it looks like ol dude is kinda hell bent on getting the Panasonic.

Its all good though man, but u just need to realize everybody doesnt like everything u like or own. I like Autotek amps but Im sure its sum people up here that dont like em but thats not gonna stop me from liking them. U like Panasonic and I dont.....I like Kenwood and u dont. Ur not gonna change ur opinion on Kenwood just because I like em and Im certainly not gonna change mine about Panasonic just because u like Panasonic....Everybody has a preferance....accept it.

Last time I checked, I didnt rag on Panasonic....I just said "it was out of the question". Dont remember saying it was a piece of shit, da controls are goofy, and it looks gay. I never said anything like that I just said "It was outta the question" for ME. How is that ragging? I wonder if those were Kenwoods lower $200 models cuz Im not impressed with those...but once u start getting the Excelon models then I doubt a Panasonic can keep up with it....It may but to me it wont. one was an excelon and one wasnt. either way, mine and my other buddies panasonics sounded better than them. and how do they look gay? theyre clean and the controls are some of the easiest ones ive used. and this is for someone else, so why would you say something is out of the question for YOU? makes no sense to me. but like youve said, youve never owned one, so how could you say something "bad" about it? Read what I said....I never said anything bad about them except that they were out of the question for ME. And when I said that they look gay and the controls and all that; that was a example of ragging. Meaning I wasnt ragging on Panasonic I just personally dont like em, but I didnt talk down on them is what I was saying. I was telling him my preferences in HUs, because he asked what we thought; thats why. He asked what we thought and I said I love Excelons first then Pioneers and I dont care too much for Alpines and I would never buy a Panasonic. Even though I havent owned a Panasonic, I had heard a few of em and I didnt like either one. Its alot of stuff that uve never owned that u dont like and would never buy. What if somebody said what should I get...Pyle subs or Fi subs? uve probably never owned a Pyle sub but u probably would never buy em either. And the first time somebody tries to sell u some u'll probably frown on them. Thats the same thing here....yea Ive never owned a Panasonic but I know enough to know I dont like em.

Ok....got a plan now. Here is a ruff draft the blue prints ;D Ok I said I was getting a 3rd S12L7 for my Cutlass. Thats a big definate Yes. Then I decided to run them with 3 seprate amps @ 2ohm. The ZX750.1D but then I said weeeeeelll for about $600 more I could do 3 -T10001BD amps and run them @ 2ohms. Then I thought about it and I said scratch that thought because I forgot all about the Autotek MM1400.1D amps. So I did a lil research on em and found a article in CarAudio magazine where they did a bench test on that amp. It was tested @ 14.4V and it wasnt even using the full 1/0 wire that was suggested...they just went with 4guage wire and dont quote me on it but I believe the wire was 20ft in length. But anyway it did 1750rms @1ohm and 1075rms @2ohm with a efficientcy rating of 81%. So I figure Id do 3 and since Im only using it for a 2ohm load I could just just use 4 guage wire with a 100amp fuse on each. I ask the folks at Maxxsonics and they said that would be excellent and that it would run even more efficiently because the battery would be about 2ft from the amps and Im only running it @ 2ohm. I can get all 3 for about $900 shipped which is a steal. So what do u guys think...winner (daily)? Oh and I already know its comming "Ought to get the rockfords cuz its a more solid amp" May or may not be true but Ive seen the test sheets on the rockford T10001BD and they are similar but the MM does more at 1ohm though.....but by me going with the Autoteks instead of the Rockfords....Im saving about $400-$600 and getting the same amount of watts. Plus the magazine test said it only had about 5% clipped sound at full power which is very very minimum so that proves its clean.

I use to have a Alpine with the BBE Bass Engine....I cant remember which model I had but It was 3rd from the highest CDplayer model that they made in 04'......But anyway the bass engine aint nothing special. All headunits have their own lil nick name for a bass boost and Bass engine is Alpines, Pioneer calls theirs the SuppertunerIIID and Kenwood calls theirs B.M.S. (Bass Management System). All of em have their own version. Me personally I will never buy another Alpine although they get good reviews but like Kenwood better because to me it gives off a cleaner sound....my second choice is the pioneer and panasonic is out of the question. But from what u described Id pick the Pioneer because ur gonna have a line driver to make up for the low pre amp output voltage and Pioneer's eq controls are a lil better than Alpines but thats my opinion. Ive owned Pioneer,Alpine and Kenwood. Kenwood is my first love and Pioneer is my bitch on the side.

Of course...a healthy elctrical system is the heart to everything in ur stereo system....Ummmm now that u say Id be up to damn near 4ohm I might be better off just doing 3-zx750.1D amps....atleast I know Id be getting about 900rms each.

Thats what I was thinking about 25-2800....Id be happy with that. Should push the L7s nicely. The box would be tuned to 37Hz cuz thats what was suggested by Kicker. 1 big long box with 3 subs in the middle and 2- 4x12.5" ports....1 on each end. Since Im not doing rear fills Imma use the 4x10" speaker openings on the rear deck for ports. Should wang nicely huh?

What do u guys think I could get out of a T40001BD @ 2.67ohms with a pretty healhty electrical system pushing it. Im sure I probably would only need about a 300amp fuse on it at that particular ohm. The reason why Im asking is because as sum of u may know Im doing a G-Body too. I was trying to sell my pair of Generation II S12L7s, to do BTLs in the Cutlass. Then I decidd to keep em and save that extra money for the Tahoe. But a light popped on in my head today as I was surfing through ebay and saw some of the same model L7s I have that were refurbished by Kicker themselves. I could get a extra sub and run 3. I have dual 4ohm L7s and thats what the refurbished ones were also. So I figured I could get that extra 1 to go with the 2 that I already have and series um together to a 2.67 ohm load. Then I started thinking of amps and It dawned on me that the T40001BD does about 4700@1ohm so what do yall think I would get out of it at 2.67ohm...I know it would run a whole lot more efficiently and Im guessing I could get away with just a 300amp fuse or a 350amp on it considering I wont be pulling all of its power?

but then at the same time I wouldnt be saving but 500 on the subs but I would save about half on power to drive em though, cuz I wanted to give the BTLs atleast 3k......I could give these 2k and wont have to run as much juice either. Probably end up saving about $2k or $3k in the end. Could go with 1 big ass Adassa Conqueror

Shoooooot, hook up a Sundown, MM2000.1D, and a VR2000D to each one and ur pounding. I might rather have these instead of the BTLs. Dont know though, depending on the enclosure and performance....I might. It'll be a whole lot cheaper and sound pretty loud too.

Hey Steve, that white stuff u sprayed the inside with. I know what u said it was and that u did it to smooth the inside but does it help ur sound or is it for looks....and could I just do a light sand with primer and regular gloss spray paint?

if u go with 2-Q12s; u'll be well over ur 1k limit. If u do the 1 Q15 u can get everything for about 1k. Thats everything except a Head-unit.

Sounds to me like ur on a budget but u wanna be lound and sound good too. Id do 1 dual 2ohm Q15 with a Autotek MM1000.1D wired down to 1ohm (bout $225 on ebay and it does a lil over 1200rms) or a dual 1ohm Q15 with a Kicker ZX1000.1D series'd up to a 2ohm load (runs about $300 on ebay and will do about 1200rms). If u do either one u probably could get the sub and 1 of those amps for about $500-$600. Add another $500 for ur electrical system,various wires, etc.... and u can be bump'n for around a $G-note. Thats if u already have a radio.

No offense to anyone running Hifonics amps but I hate em. And Power Acoustiks too. I had a Audiobahn on those same L7s one time and I sold that after about 2 weeks....wasnt doing its rated power. I had 2 of the old Orion HCCA 275G amps (800rms@2ohm) and they pounded and droped hard. I'll figure sum'n out.

do 4 in one big box and 1 big port. 133in2of port with 22.5" in length. Do 9.3ft3 of enclosure and thats including port and sub displacement in that 9.3ft3. Ur port can be something like 7"x19"x22.5". That will tune it to 37Hz and set ur subsonic filter around 32Hz and u'll be wang'n and bang'n. But I dont think 2-L7 12s on a T3k is gonna last u very long....even a T2k would be too much on the 12s.

yea, I saw where they are doing 1510 @1ohm off of a stock alt and 1 1100amp battery. Im assuming one could get around 1800 @1ohm with a hi-amp alt to keep the volts up. I still think I might take my chances with the MTX because I have had hands on experience with that one before.

Sundown? Ive heard of em...dont know too much about em. The MTX is about $475 shipped and will give me about 1800-1850rms @ 14.4v. Can the Sundown do better than that. One of the main reasons I wanted the MTX is because all the controls are on the face of the amp. Once I put the vanity conver over it; I wont have to take it off everytime I wanna tweak something.

My point exactly. This has nothing to do with what I asked Steve. If u can read then u can read. If it says "dat" then dats what it is.....its not chinesse arithmatic. Its alot of situations on this forum that I see that I dont like.....I say F it and go to something else. I know those BTLs are taking da power like a Champ but Ive only seen u play it loud like dat in sperts....do u think they could be played loud like dat for a long period of time...say about a hour at once?

I think Imma go with either those 2-zx750.1D amps or a MTX81001D. I can get either of em for a lil under $500 and either way Id be getting a lil over 1800rms. Im leaning more towards the MTX because I dont think the 2-ZXs are daisy chainable.
