Ive seen people saying re isn't what it use to be. I've seen on craigslist someone selling a 12" re xxx for $500 is this worth getting ? I'm running a hcca 10.2 right now but been really considering going 12

I personally like the alphasonik 800 series 800wrms d4 had mine for 2 years beat the crap out of it and it never let me down I payed 120 (new not used) upgraded to my hcca 10.2 1500wrms payed 300 (also brand new)

Thanks a lot guys ... 8ight, Ive been messing around with torres for a week or 2 but noticed calculations for round and square port (no slots unless I been reading incorrectly.) Redcorn, sounds good I'll check that out. joe, the only reason why I didn't post up my sub and amp specs and suggestions is because it sort of a crappy amp from what people say but seems to work to me ( Logic TXt3000 d ) and using an orion hcca 102, I've asked and searched the forum on recommended enclosures and came up with responses mostly leaning to orions specs which is .9fr^3 which seemed to small (currently sitting in a box that's 1.4 ish after displacement but now have no idea what the port is really tuned to because I misunderstood the box calc on bcae and made the slot port the length of the round port suggested ( started the length at point where it turns to a L if that makes sense) so I was trying to find out if there was a mathematical way of finding out the proper length... Also was just thinking does the calculated length start right behind the baffle or at the point where it turns to become an L shape? fmedina thanks, if all fails and can't get what I'm looking for I'll pm you for sure, not trying to use you as a last option but I would love to learn all these tricks of the trade since I love car audio just like you guys and I'm sure at one point most of you guys were at my level, and I 2 would love to have the knowledge to educate new comers to the hobby...sorry for preaching lol

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to calculate the dimension for a slot port cuz I'm almost 100% sure I been doing it wrong. Also does square ports give you more space compared to slot?

I wasnt comparing them price wise I was just saying the difference in sound between the 2 of them

I have the tws.4 they run about $30 but I have them on a amp ... Not sure how they would sound on straight hu I personally like them, they are very sharp though so it does depend on your tweeter taste (sharp vs. musical/vocal) the beyma ht 45 are musical/vocal, pretty much sound like tiny speakers rather than tweeters... the soundstreams sound pretty close to professional DJ type bullet tweeters ( I tested them next to some audiopipe titanium bullet tweeters)... Hope that helps

I have the same specs as kynto but thought it was weird and maybe the hcca would be like the L7 where they hit harder with more space. My friend and I built a box for his hcca 15 at about 4.9ft^3 and that thing hits pretty hard, just that 1 broke the trunk hatch of his pathfinder and the license plate ripped like a sheet of paper... I might experiment with this and see if I stuff the box if it will hit harder.I really appreciate your help guys I really didnt think anyone would reply with this funny sub situation

Whats going on guys I just got a Orion hcca 102 {10" dual 2 ohm) I got it sitting in my old box that I made for my alphasonik 800 series which is about 2ft^3 just so I could use it now, my question is how many cubes would you guys recommend going with? Its going in my 08 lancer and is a daily driver. I tried searching this forum and google but came up with nothing. I felt orions spec was to small cuz its calling for half the size it has now and I feel like its too small as is right now. Also how wide should my slot port be? Its a 2" wide tuned to 35-36hz right now... Thanks for the help guys
