  1. yep hopefully woofers be in next week or so see how they sound
  2. the angled pieces are to help loading on the back 2 woofers because they were so close to the port according do "DJSNT" good friend of mine does box designs and if it sounds bad i can pull them out. i was gonna use sonotube but the inner diameter on 8in sonotube is only like 7.1in! so i used 9in sewer pipe which i think it is and it had a decent flare lip and came out to like just shy of 8in inner diameter. its 18in in length with 5in external
  3. Some updates today...for loading on the back woofers I added 2 "walls" 5in a piece with a round over of 1/4in. and added a middle 45 angled wall for a better frequency response.
  4. ive built a lot of boxes before this is just a new build im doing from my old XXX 12s im going to be using truck bed liner and will be painting the port too. i build and seal all my boxes with PL Premium Advance and works better then anything else and if you buy the right stuff theres lots of different kinds the one i use helps reduce the amount of bracing needed.. i sealed the whole inside with the same glue i used for the box and i actually cut the hole smaller just slightly smaller then needed so its snug and beat the port in with a board on top and used a hammer to pound it in and checked for light to come out the other side. ive built aero port boxes before it is tuned correctly i was shooting for 35 so i did 34.5 according to torres because i added some extra bracing then what was figured on the calc to get closer to 35 i ended up running it through bassbox and came out to 35.2hz ish.. for now i also kept the rubber ring in there just so see maybe..if it helps or makes it worse it will be out eventually..
  5. Hey all figure I would start posting more my builds on the Forum I just finished my new box for my 4 DD3500g 10's Coming in in the following week or two. 4 DD3500's 10's Flush Mounted, Tuned 34.5hz, 1.2cu per Woofer. This is my first box I ever Flush Mounted and didn't come out how i would have liked but i will test fit when they come in.. I used two 3in 45's in the back corners to direct the sound towards the port which might help and did a 2x2 brace in between both woofers. I might Truck bed liner my box to hide alot of my inperfections like the screws I should have made them a little more stright. But my guess this should pound and yes this is a trunk box port fired into the cabin.
  6. okay how about this a kid i know named DJ designed me this with my max measurements of my trunk 4 10" Digital Designs 3500's Tuning: 34hz. Compression Chamber: 2.2 Cuft. per side Resp: 26hz. - 73hz.
  7. just an idea... with 2 6in aeros fired into the cabin
  8. or fire the subs up? and port out the side of the box
  9. maybe i could fire 2 subs on each side of the car trunk for unloading and port into the cabin?
  10. to me if i can find a way to stagger the subs on a 16 tall 36in wide face i would fire them from the trunk into the cabin and port out 6in out each side of the box into the trunk
  11. 3ft long? lol please tell me how that would be needed...because ive built plently of aero port boxes with torres box calc and bass box its not wrong
  12. Hey all i just ordered 4 DD 3500g 10s Dual 4ohm Im building a box thats 15.5 tall 36 wide 23 deep 6.01cu each speaker will get almost 1.25cu a sub which is what DD told me.. im doing 2 6in pvc aero ports or 4 4in aeros i would like peoples inputs on that but 2 6in seems better port area... anyone recommend a good tuning to drop low and hit hard on the highs im thinking about 35-36hz tuned i will be giving them total about 5k rms... thanks!!
  13. it was braced well and that is an illusion of the camera its very straight and lines up well i built a slot ported over year ago and never a issue the same way as this
  14. its reinforced top and bottom with braces and 45s with the lid on i dont have pics of that.
  15. Hey all i built my new box and it is STUPID Fin loud with aero ports box is 2 RE XXX 12's Dual 2ohm Wired @ .5 15.5Tall 36 Wide 21 Deep with double face made outof birch no box flex and solid SQ but seems like i lost the reallly high notes 55+ Hz arent even barley there even turning up my "LPF" box is tuned around 33hz has 2 -6in flared 28in length aero ports firing each side the box and i fit it best i could and bolted together they do not move... any ideas what i did wrong to lose those notes with this new box box is rear fired in the trunk with aero ports fired out the sides of each box im thinking about firing the box into the car see what it does. the box is overall stupid loud between 30-42hz anyhting after that it really has nothing should i bring my tuning up a little more?
  16. my crescendo 3500 over 90-95AC Volts @40hz makes a humming sound too..my buddys AQ2200 does same thing expect his says distortion on the DD1.
  17. i just found in another post "Alpine CDA-9886 Clip free up to 24" Some headunits are different, despite the fact that they are the same exact model number and everything so his might and mine wont? also i have the internal amp "off" is that ok when checking for clipping?
  18. -5db tracks be safe for my Rubicon 604 and my crescendo 3500?
  19. im kind of curious as well i was thinking of adding a US Amps Bass Mekanik VLS-1 Bass Processor on my RE XXX12s..i know when u run your sub RCA through it i think all the way down is basically like running just on the amp and then turning it up turns it on. i wonder how much distortion it would add from the RCA preouts
  20. So when i hook my RCAs to from the head unit to the DD1 i get no distortion on my headunit maxed out on the 1k and 40hz -0DB track it has a 4v preout on this series. should i run it to 35 or..? like maybe 32? i run it to 25 now..but my gain is maxed on the sub amp and i can turn it up to 29-30 with out distortion on a -5db track. so i think i have more room to play with. with USB 25seems kinda max on my vocals but on my AUX i can usally run about 32 and get a lot more out.. any help be cool thanks!
  21. ok stright up these songs are pretty damn good! and actually very good SQ and plays loud and clean in my car. good stuff bro
  22. has anyone added nice lows to this song yet? "elton john-tiny dancer " we all know great old song i guess if not more of a request if someone can do if not done yet? thanks!
  23. i dont wanna sound like a noob but my input..first off its also matters on your ohm load. but each amp has different "Drive Boards" and run different efficiency ratings of current needing of draw at a certain ohm load i think im sorta correct if someone like to correct me feel free. an easy way to explain this i had a old crescendo audio model 3k @ .5ohms and needed a lot more power then my new 3500 @.5ohm and took it to my amp guy get a good explanation he explained that it had something to do with how the drive boards deliver the power at a certain ohm rating which causes the less power draw = better efficiency rating = less heat too! also it has a big roll play in box tuning and speaker effiencys on how much power a "1000 watt" amp would pull theres a lot of factors that play into how much a amp pulls and will pull.
  24. any takers? my buddy wants to make a 34hz tuned box he said it will play all notes, i love the deep bass of stuff like juice box by gorilla zoe, and the highs from like lil jon: da blow. and a decent amount of Chopped and screwed. and my sister likes rock/metal in the car. heres something i came up with i have no clue if it will work but i would like any help if possible..my main issue is i have about 23-25in in depth but..im not sure how far the box should be from the deck lid i do a rear fire not into the cabin right now my box it iss 3in from the deck lid and have had it as far as 6in back. im goin for more air flow and a lot louder then my prefab transmission line and not sure about the port building i do have "a decent amount of windshield and door flex." heres an old video b4 i got my 270amp alternator and extra battery". http://www.megavideo.com/?v=IYDMGKZY
