go with the first one for sure,,,or use BTL's...APX's and DD's are GREAT for getting loud, but are known for giving up SQ to get the SPL.

I'm also using the KnuKonceptz Krystal RCA's, I would highly recommend them. I doubt you can find anything better for the price (I got both 4 channel and 2 channel for $50)

Nobody will have any idea. You didnt tell us what kind of car, box type and dimensions, how its situated in the car, etc. and even then its very hard to throw a guess out.

Hey man, I'm driving a 2000 tahoe 4wd with the 5.3l v8, and I was considering lifting the front 2", putting on some 20" rims (not the offroad ones, but not really the baller ones either, i cant really describe the ones im thinking of...) and some bigger tires. How much would it run me for the lift (i'm not sure, but i think i could tighten up my torsion bars...good idea or no?) and what size tires would look right under it... And overall, should I even consider doing this or would it not be worth the hassle?

lol... you wont find anyone who thinks that 1.5 cubic foot is good for a 15. I don't care how nicely they fit in the car, if the subs don't work in the box youre screwed anyway. What you can do is make the boxes sealed, and not use a port at all. You'd get extra displacement back, and 8 15's in a golf, even sealed, would be very loud. Just make sure you seal the boxes off from the back of the car.

L5's are sold! One of my buddies bought em off me for $240 with a box for them.

Haha I don't want to "turn you off" but there is no way youll fit 8 15's in a gold without maddddd fiberglass work. I'd drop it down to 4 15's and build a wall for them. Walls are very badass, and I would love to build one if I had the cash for more amps and subs.

Yea because I have focal polyglass in the kicks, so I want something that can come close to the sound quality on those. I love the way the FNQ midrange looks tho, and I'm mounting the mid from behind the ring so youll be able to see the speaker...Any other suggestions? I'll be giving the front doors 80 watts per side. (and another 80 to each kick, and another 100 to each back door)

6k watts is not anything to be ashamed of, thats a crapload of power for sure. Try to aim the subs forward if you have enough mounting area, if not, do a clamshell type box. You can get intricate with it and design it to be a sixth order series tuned bandpass box if youd like. And I'd go with 2 BTL 18's or 4 BL 15's. The 15's would probably get louder. Either way the box size would be about the same. As for the actual blowthru, I've never done one so I'm not too sure on the specifics.

lol thats very very enticing. I could buy it, but then id be spending 800 for batteries and 400 for an alternator... So that'd be a 1800 dollar upgrade. And then buying the new subs too....I'd be well into 2 g's. if i could spare the cash i definately would get this amp tho...

um the meaning of aeroports means its flared. so no pvc cant be used as an aeroport. but yes it can be used as a circular port.
