  1. Ok. Makes sense. I just wasn't sure about that bc ppl think you will clip every note besides 40hz That's the only thing I get confused about the dd-1
  2. Been hearing this a lot but when setting with 40hz would I be clipping notes lower and higher? Or would it be the same? I'm sure this hot answered before but could not find anything on it.
  3. does it matter if car is on or off when setting with dd-1
  4. I use the -10db track and I have zero issues. I play decaf and shit. I also make sure I don't play no Gucci swing my door stuff. Your box plays a big factor into it. You might of did something wrong...how are your head unit settings? Everything flat? Besides sub level control?
  5. you need to ditch that prefab bro. i bet its tuned to mid 40hz and a bit small. have someone on here build you a box. yes its a bit more then a prefab but there is a reason to why it is..you will see once you get one=) you are on the right track tho man. i doubt your gains are set correctly. shops almost always set by ear...as bump4life said, clipping knobs are good to have..you should sell that amp to get a cresendo, audioque, sundown ect. i would try to get a smd dd-1. simple to use and a very great tool. i have tuned a lot of systems with it in the past 2 months and they still are shocked on the resualts
  6. Speaker wire was disconnected right? If you didn't get a new head unit or amp, why would you retune?
  7. yeah i know what you meant man lol i thought i had to reset my gains by doing that..so dont be shaking your head at me mister haha
  8. my friend told me this little trick he found out, he said tony posted it but couldnt find anything on it...you set the LPF all the way on your amp and you set your LPF on your deck to the lowest, so like 50 or 60hz. he said he got louder by doing that, bc the LPF actually controls power? wanted to see if this was true and if so, is it bad? never heard of this till today
  9. hows the bass in these things? can you actually hear the lows, they sure do look sweet as hell
  10. i plan on upgrading from my audioque 1200d to the sundown 1500. there is a guy selling the v1 for 250 so i may pick that up, what is the difference between the v2, v3 series? what does the v1 put out clamped? dont know a lot about these amps
  11. Lol thank you very much for that info. I'm at -10db right now and so I will switch that to -5db tomorrow:) I have never played full tilt for longer then 2min lol
  12. I understand that. But loud bass as in boosted songs? Or decaf loud?
  13. i really need to get rid of my prefab box=(

  14. I use -10 not sure of the difference between the 2..I'm pretty sure if you play dj billy e and that stuff then -5
  15. crap. will be re-tuning then. I thought it was better to tune while you were at 14.4. But that makes sense. Not super worried, it's only 500w What is the difference from tuning with car on or off? Only thing I see is if you play without the car running then tuning with car off would would be better. I looked thru the manual and did not see anything about that.. The only difference would be your voltage. Which with the car off is like 12.7. With the car on its wherever your alt charges at which is around 14.4. The reason people will tune with the car off is to account for voltage drop. Cuz when the voltage drops your amp will tend to be easier to distort, clip cuz of the lower voltage. If you tune with voltage already low. Then the stronger voltage means less likely to clip Think of it like filling a cup. When you tune with the car off, it's like having the cup 80% full when you walk back to the couch. When you tune with the car on, it's like filling the cup to the brim and then trying to walk back to your couch. Voltage drop in this situation would represent stairs in your walk to the couch. Well said lol I don't have much voltage drop at all but I will go out and re tune with the car off, that's not a prob. So I assume the gain will be less then when the car is running? I also used the -10db track.
