  1. I'm using 4gauge wire. My friend told me I might short something out or something like that. But my amp only holds 4gauge.
  2. I drive a "93 Mustang. I really need to know how to stop skipping. It's annoying
  3. Ok So I recently finished the installation of my new BL fully loaded 18" with a RF 1500-1bd with the help of some friends. Before I installed it my cd player (Older Kenwood) would play any CD. Well I was listening to it and my CD player shut off and wouldn't work with any CD at all. Finally it started working. Anyone know what could be the problem with this? My next issue is that my bass hits so hard it makes my CD skips. How do I fix this? My next question is I'm using a stock altenator and 1 battery. My lights will dim while bumping so I was just asking if I will need a new battery and possibly a new alt in the near future ? ( will I sub kill my alt I have now?) All critizism and comments are welcome. Need all the help I can get.
  4. Droopy I see you are from East Tennessee...What part are you from man? I'm from LaFollette
  5. I just baught the RF 1500-1bd from Thewes....Thanks man It took a while but paypal Finally came through
  6. It's a BL and I got it duel 2ohm so I can hook it up at 1 ohm so my amp
  7. So I just ordered my 18" Fi fully loaded BL and I can't decide what amp I want. My friend from school told me that the Sundown Audio 1500d is a damn good amp for it and I can get a refurbed one for 350. 1500 watts RMS. Any ideas on what would be a good amp? I want to push the sub with the best amp i can get for 380....please help me. ))))
  8. Well I plan on it being a normal everyday sub. Don't plan on competeing in any competitions or anything. Just something to listen to while I cruise. So would it be better for me to get it or not? I mean its free!
  9. So I am about to order my sub...I'm getting it fully loaded but I wanted to ask what the universal specification is? should it be yes or no?
  10. With my "basshead train of thought" this is how I look at it. If the box doesn't fit..make it fit. I'm putting a 18" sub in my little 93 mustang hatchback. My box has a net cubic feet of 7.5. Pretty good IMO.
  11. Nice system man..It looks good. Just goes to show that a truck can bump hard lol.
  12. I've saw the previews to this game online. I must say it looks superbadass. Too bad I don't have a 360 though. I played COD for comp. I like it but I'm more of a Day of Defeat man. I've been playing DOD for.....5 years now? Anyone else here play?
  13. haha...thats is funny. I love an "underground company"......Fi just doesn't sell their products to companies at wholesale is all.
  14. hahahah well....If anyone lives near Knoxville, Tennessee...Don't fucking let lowes cut your wood. THey messed it up horribly. Bigjd and I are gonna have to true it up with a sander to make it look good. The box looks good, but it needs sanded. It was hell bringing the wood back to jd's house in my lil 93" mustang. I somehow fit 2 sheets of MDF in it. I have pictures it We didn't really get to take pictures of it while we were building it, but I'll post some pictures build box, and the wood in my car I dunno how the hell I made it home without getting a ticket lol....It tooks us 2 days to build, and tommorow I'm taking the top of it to school and having the circle cut out of it for the sub. I'll post the pics later
  15. Alright..I plan on getting the fully loaded 18" BL. and a HIFONICS BXI2006D MONO BLOCK AMPLIFIER. If I get the 1 ohm sub what would be the safest way to hook it up to this amp without damaging the amp or sub. Whats the lowest ohm you can get with the 1ohm sub vs. the 2 ohm sub?
  16. Well..I think I'm all set. I'm going to lowes tommorow after school to buy my wood. You have no idea how much of a help you have been. You've taught me alot. I knew nothing about volume or anything until I came to this site. I just went to radio shack and bought a box. It costed me 109 bucks! anyways thanks alot man. I'll post pics of the build, and will give you props for the help My friend and I are going to start it tommorow...He knows what he is doing. I'm not so sure about me though.
  17. You are amazing in my book. I'm decent in math, but when it comes to 3d objects..I just can't understand it. I think it's because I'm left-handed or something lol. Anyways I will be going to homedepot and lowes tommorow to check the prices on MDF. and I read on one of the post that lowes will cut the wood for you for little to no cost. so I would need 7 pieces of wood right? and please correct me if I'm wrong, but would I need (2) 13.5x35 cuts. (2)35x35 sheets. (1) 13.5x18.5 (1)13.5x33.5 and (1)13.5x26.5?
  18. Wow...you are amazing, but I still have one more thing to ask. My box is going to be 33.5 inches deep inside. So is 18.5 long enough? Thats like 15 inches for air to travel into the port. Is this too much? and also How do you calculate the Hz of a port? You explained all your calculations but that one so that still confuses me just a lil. and also man I thank you soooooo much for the drawing you have given me. Did you use google sketch to draw that? It is amazing. If you ever need anything just ask
  19. Alright....so I've been trying to figure out displacement. I'm pretty sure my box is going to be a 14x35x35. my sub's displacement is .23f^3. I still need the volume displacement for a piece of 3/4 inch MDF bored that is 13.5x30 to seperate my sub from port. I've tried to figure this out, and I've came up with the following calculations. .75x13.5x30=303.75/1728=.18f^3 displacement. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong on this? And since my box is going to be 14x35x35=17150/1728=9.92f^3. So subtracting the subdisplacement of .23 and my if my calculation on the 13.5x30 f^3 (.18volume) is correct that will gives me a 9.5F^3. If this is correctly calculated what would the demensions of my port have to be to tune my box at 34hz
  20. I live in a small town called LaFollette. It's in Tennessee. I've been to serveral lumberstores and ask if they carry MDF bored...and they don't because they don't sell enough. I can go to homedepot. There is one in Knoxville (I'm right by it.) and how big is the 3/4 sheet of MDF? and man that would be awesome if you could get a sketch for me. I really need these demensions because I'll be buying my wood soon. I'm forsure going for mayb 15x35x35 so I really only need my port demensions for 34 Hz
  21. No store in my area sells MDF bored. so I dunno where I can get it. I've asked hardware stores and they say that they don't sell enough of it to carry it. Can you order it online?
  22. kk...So my new demensions are 15x35x35. I'm using 3/4 inch plywood. this will give a gross volume of 10.6 cubic feet. I plan on having a double baffle, my sub ( which has a .23 displacement), and a Port that is tuned to 34Hz. So..what would the demensions of my port need to be for the sub box to be tuned at 34Hz. I also need to know what kind "maze design" or what ever it would be called that I need to seperate my sub enclosure from my port? I was thinking of just a piece of wood that is mayb 13x35? I'm not sure on that. if anyone out there can would you mind taking this into displacement when firguring out my net cubic feet. Once again..Thanks alot! all comments are welcome!
  23. No It's alright. Thanks for asking though. See what I was gonna do was make a CD with serveral different tracks ranging from the highest frequency my Fi bl 18 can pick up, to the lowest it can pick up so I would have soemthing to test it with when I get it installed. I know they have serveral different tracks out there for this, but I wanted to make my own and customize it
  24. I was thinking....Does a program exist that would allow you to make your own bass with your computer, and then mayb transfer it to a CD for your subs? I think that would be really cool.
  25. so...my port hole needs to be bigger? What do you mean by 12-16 sq? Is that Square Inches? If so..what would be a good length and width for my port?
