  1. L7's and CVX's do like larger boxes. 3-4ft^3 at ~35hz for the pair should work well in most cases, so long as you're not trying to run more than rated power to it.
  2. Not sure what engine it has. I'm going to grab some pics and post them up later on tonight.
  3. Big thanks for Brandon Fortson from here for making me use my brain on this one. This will be housing a pair of Digital Designs 3512's and will be going in the back of a '69 Chevelle show car. The box is 5ft^3 tuned to 34hz via a 12"x6" port.
  4. May I ask how you're doing 27" and 33" in depth in an extended cab truck?
  5. Honestly, I'd just build a new box instead of altering the current one. For one, it'll be a total pain in the ass to do so. And if you're trying to lower the tuning, you're either going to sacrifice box volume or port area...or both.
  6. 1/2" dowels will split really easily. I suggest going no smaller than 1" in this case, and be sure to pre-drill.
  7. Just search eBay for "xtr pro" and you'll see them. They have no logo.
  8. Agreed, I was pretty impressed with mine considering the age.
  9. The optimal box really depends on the speakers being used. A lot of times a transmission line enclosure will work well since it'll provide good low end extension for an 8" woofer(assuming your 8's are really mids and not true subs). If you go to the Custom Quote page of my website, www.ram-designs.com, you can fill out the form and see a price quote without needing to actually send me anything.
  10. Yes, the xmech is limited compared to the subs we're used to today with 3"(or more) xmech.
  11. I'm sure he can do something, but I wouldn't count on that motor allowing for a lot of mechanical clearance, from what I remember.
  12. Here's a fun little bandpass box that I did for Christian Gutierrez on here. This is for a 15" Crossfire XS V2 going in the trunk of a Pontiac G6 GT. The box is 1.65ft^3 sealed and 4ft^3 tuned to 45hz. The sub will be inverted with the motor in the ported chamber...obviously geared towards high output.
  13. Are you referring to the logoless 12" ones on ebay? They're decent. I had a few of the 15's that were being sold on ebay maybe 5 years ago...they seemed to work pretty well, but being a woofer from 1999, excursion is somewhat limited compared to what we're used to with modern subs.
  14. Well, it's possible. It's just certainly not practical.
  15. No way you can do a pair of 6" aeros...the length would be ridiculous.
  16. It's just the way I have always done it, I don't really pay attention to which tool set I have open.
  17. Edited first post, power will be a pair of Crescendo 3500's...I accidentally put 5500's at first.
