I have a small alt. Maybe 85?? It's a civic lol. But in this case I'll look at my options. Planning to get an alt strong enough for 2000+ rms. -

I'm planning to upgrade my alternator and I'm debating on buying one from DC or have the local shop rewind my stock alt to 165-170 amps?
-
I'm thinking about getting two 12" Orion HCCA and I was wondering if the RF will be strong enough to push the subs. Also should I get the 12.2's or 12.4's?

your confusing me with your double post, looks like you two different people, had to double take there for a sec, ha ha, anyways, yea, its worth saving a bit, I understand the income side of it, I just took a huge hit at work, ableit I am only part time, but I went from 20 hours down to 8 hours, so I have to get a second job to afford the mazda I want to get kinda sucks it happened right around when I was about to buy one -
Alt or batt?
SasquatchREG32 replied to SasquatchREG32's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Yea I'm like that also. It's just that my income limits me to get what I need (like that 270 amp) but like the guy above said I'll definitely save up and get something that'll last. -

Some alt says 160/100. I'm guessing it 160 amps and 10o idle. Does that mean I dont get the full 160 all the time?
