  1. Cleaning kit? Don't you just use prep solvent? I used Kleen strip prep all to clean grease/oils off the surface first.
  2. Looks like I'll have to start. I almost left all the trunk taken apart. Gotta start installing the damplifier pro that's sitting on the workbench.
  3. You know, one bolt on it did not feel as secure as the other. Must've been the nice new dc woofer that loosened it up lol.
  4. So, I emptied EVERYTHING out of the trunk, so I could get into the spare tire well so I could get to the blade fuse by the battery. Took it out, looked fine. Reinstalled, and now protect mode is off, and it runs like a champ again. Wtf?
  5. Getting 14.5 volts. Ground is good. Amp is 1 ohm stable.
  6. I disconnected speaker wires, still in protect. All the fuses look fine.
  7. So my amp has never had any issues. Directed d2400. I grabbed the dmm to head out to the garage to test voltage. I turn on the car, and no sound from the sub. Upon closer inspection, I see the amp is in protect mode. Wtf? What would cause this? I mean, the amp never cut out or anything while playing. It's powering a dc lvl 4 d2 wired to 1 ohm.
  8. Yep running dc in mine. Well, just started. I have a single dc lvl 4 12 in a 2.4 cube box tuned with aeros to around 33-34 hz.
  9. Sorry. Been super busy at work, and not a lot of time to research this model. I have zero experience with jvc double din's.
  10. Because it was a friend or family friend. I have some cop friends, and that's almost always the case with situations where only part of the money is stolen.
  11. I'm assuming motorized faceplate. Any issues with that? I have a kenwood excelon ddx 7015 that needs replacing, and have been looking for a deal.
  12. I just use their port length calculator on their website: http://www.psp-inc.com/tools.html
  13. Can it play DVDs while driving? Any issues with the unit?
  14. I have access to a custom kitchen cabinet line. I just have them cut my stuff on their CNC machine. My current box (11 ply birch 3/4" plywood, cut to my specifications) ran me about $60. Well worth it to me since I didn't have to rip a full sheet of plywood down. Not my most favorite task.
  15. I didn't think of port, only because the box type wasn't specified. He asked for specific cuts, and I laid them out. The cuts he listed can be cut from one sheet. Doesn't leave any room for oops cuts though.
  16. Here's one way to do it: EDIT: changed the pic. This layout is more efficient. It will leave you with a leftover piece around 18x60 for port material if needed.
  17. I hear ya man. What year LS you got? 2000 ls v8 sport. I'm over on Lvc too. Same username over there. A few pics of it:
  18. That's why most manual transmissions have a hand brake. Pull it when you are facing uphill and stopped. Now you only need to use the clutch and accelerator pedals. Then when the clutch engages, release the hand brake. Guys in Europe drive like this all the time. Works great.
  19. Just got off the phone with Ken. Placed my order for a bulk pack of damplifier pro, 2 sheets of overkill, and a roller. Thanks for the help!
  20. Thanks for the number, bro. I have to take care of it first thing in the am, or else i get busy as shit.
  21. Nice! Too bad I can't wall my ls. Gotta fit 2 car seats in the back.
  22. Finally made up my mind on box size. Going with 28"w x 14"h x 15"d. I am having a custom cabinet shop cut the plywood via their CNC machine. Will be ready next week sometime. Now I need to source some carpet.
  23. One last question. When using the port length calculator on psp-inc's website, they ask for the box volume. I'm assuming they mean net volume after sub displacement, but before port displacement, correct? So, a box 26"w x 14"h x 16"d using 3/4" material is 2.57 cubes. 2.57 - .18(sub displacement) = 2.39 cubes. This 2.39 is the number to use in the "box volume" input, right? Or do I use the entire gross volume before displacement?
