  1. Talking heads - Burning down the house. <-- Hard hitting beat Madness - Our house Soft Cell - Tainted Love extended version Joan Jett - I love rock-n-roll Almost all Madonna songs Several Michael Jackson songs from the Bad Album How many you want?? I listen to a LOT of 80's music.
  2. Break in is loosening up the suspension. Not going to happen if you are playing it with low power. Have to get everything moving. As already stated, take it easy to make sure everything is connected correctly, then let it rip.
  3. Couple of friends, Joey and Moose, are putting on a SPL event North of Dallas/Denton in Lindsay, TX. It will be a simple format of legal SPL with 3 classes divided by your amps 4 ohm power ratings. It would be nice to get a good crowd there to meet a few new people and have a good time. I hope to have the van there (not to compete, just for demos. I will be running the TL). No SMD subs yet, but I should have something in there If you have any questions, call or text one of the numbers below. Brian
  4. You do not have to have that much area for aeros for daily bumping. You have to experiment to get the best combination if you are going for all out SPL. 16 sq in is just a rule of thumb for slot ports. You really have to look at the overall picture. think about it - Does a 15" sub with just a few mm of excursion getting 300 watts in a 4 ft^3 box need as much port area as a 15" with 3" of excursion getting 4000 watts in the same 4 ft^3 box??? I know people will disagree, but the answer is no. The port size really needs to be sized based on the amount of air that will be moving through it to keep the velocity below a certain level. Brian
  5. You don't need that much area with aeros. . .(3) 6" would be fine for (4) 12's That is still over 20 sqin of port per 12 and should cut the length down to 17" long.
  6. Nice price. I can verify these are new in the box purchased from Hardcore Customs in Frisco. Brian
  7. $485 each until they arrive. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=27430 The AQ2200D is only $389 shipped. I have heard good things about them. . . http://www.audioque.com/aq/AQamps2200D.htm Brian
  8. Grab a pair of sundown 2000D's on the preorder.
  9. Hey Steve - sent you an email - hit the "enter" key to tab down and leave my name and id, but enter sent it on. When you get one from Brian, it is me. . .
  10. I run a 40.1 per sub at 0.5 ohms. 4 ft^3 per sub tuned to 34 Hz. Brian
  11. This problem has been killing me on my astro. Multiple belt brands, different lengths, new tensioner, larger pulley on the alt, nothing working. Even had Mechman drop the alt from 270 amps to 245. Finally had a friend build what looks like a small tie rod that is now connected to the bolt on the end of the tensioner pulley (extended bolt with a spacer). The other end is connected to the bolt on the idler pulley across from the alt. I can now pull a little tension on the belt and hold the tensioner in place to keep everything tight. Seems to help, but time will tell.
  12. How much it moves does not matter, other than mechanically destroying them. And box design is as big factor in how much the move as much or more than other variables. BTL will be louder even with just 1500 watts and will handle more power when you decide to upgrade. Go with BTL's if you have the cash to spend.
  13. I vote (2) 15" BTL's. As already stated, they will be louder. Is it worth the difference in price? That is up to you. 1500+ watts each is more than enough for them to sound good. I have run (4) on a single MD2D and they ran just fine. Even if you have 10,000 watts, do they sound bad at low volume? Hmmm. . . And when it comes time to make it even louder, you get more amp but don't have to change subs. Brian
  14. If you decide to recone it, pm me with a zip code and I will get you a price on a Fi Q recone kit. Brian
  15. Fi has recone kits for them. . .even have original dust caps. PM me a zip code and I will get you a price.
  16. Sorry, I did not see it was not there. According to Scott, the BP option for the SSD plugs the pole vent and adds the cooling channels for increased power handling. Brian
  17. Look in the technical section of the Fi forum. box recommendations and option explainations are pinned. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7156
  18. You can PM me. I have been helping Scott process recone orders. Brian
  19. I get mine here: http://www.mcmurraymetals.com/ I bought 7' of .25 x 1.5 and it was only $65. Brian
  20. 100-125 sqin of port. I run a 40.1 @ 0.5 ohms on each of my 15's with no problem, but I would say 2-3k each is more than enough. Brian
  21. I know it is normally a good idea. I did not realize it was a must here. I have enough refs on multiple forums that it should be obvious I am not trying to rip anyone off. But not a problem, I can get a pic on Wednesday. Brian
