  1. It is more price dependent than size dependent. There is no real space limit, but I'd like to get it for under $80 And I could even do 100 RMS / 200 Max if that was a bit cheaper. cheap little 2 ch. amp, http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_33466_Kenwood-KAC-1502S.html Nice find! That is a great consideration! Kick butt but way too much power. These subs handle 100 RMS, and are shall we say.. old school lol. damn your the man lol fuck my hifonics suggestion that RF is pretty sick!!
  2. i have seen a hifonics brutus elite (bre100,2) amps that are 2 channel and do 400 rms i believe they are CEA certified also. they couldnt be more than 10x10 i actually believe they r something like 9.5x9.75 here is a link for you: http://apex-audio.com/2-channel/hifonics-bre1002-watt-channel-brutus-series-amplifier-p-19984.html?utm_campaign=google-simple&utm_medium=product_search&utm_source=google-simple hope this helps
  3. haha god that would be terrible lol
  4. They are unloaded from port and will be getting to DC HQ tomorrow at some point
  5. haha me too thats the exact reason...its gonna rise above 1 no matter what so might as well compensate
  6. theres video online by steve meade where he is doing the wrapping of his current box and it shows how he did it. it may help
  7. lol you are so calm about it i would have been making them "pay" in other ways from the start and gettin their asses in court lol hope it all works out for you
  8. agreed lol yes is had the main components of the lvl 6...4" vc 10" rolled spiders spaced apart etc but it really isnt a full lvl 6 for ^ reason no matter what they are sick lol someday i will replace my 4 XL 15s with something of that sort!
  9. kk im on it lol im gonna do some dynamiting and spray foam some shit this week i appreciate the fast response!!
  10. Hey guys i have a few questions about getting some spray foam and basically gutting my truck and filling all the voids behind the panels with spray foam and welding some steel flat stock on my roof and rear wall because of the flex and i figure thats waisted energy... i see people filling everything with the foam but i dont know what kind of foam to get or if it will help by basically displacing more area in my cabin. so will the foam help my numbers? is there a cheap alternative? or should i just be getting the expensive stuff? sorry i dont know much about it and want to start working on that part of my build
  11. I have 4 XL dcs and 2 3.5ks strapped at .5 ohm..you can watch my videos and what not and easily see that they can handle more power than that (i will upgrade soon when i get another mechman alt in my stock location) I was in the same situation you were i was gonna do the lvl 4s instead of the XLs and i was talking to rusty about it and he told me when they went from 4s to xls in the CRX they saw a .6 db gain by dropping them into the exact same box so its a good investment i think. long story short like people before have said strapped 5ks for sure!! they will handle it all day if in the right box
  12. well the 15" dcs need 3.5 cubes each. the point im getting at is that meade did the 2 18s into his civic and dc 18s need 6 cubes each so it would be close to the same total air space needed (but the 15s would displace more). i think it would be doable because when you talk about a wall getting the needed 14 cubes after displacements is not too hard and i think doable then again your could always do like 6-8 12s and be close to that 14 cubes needed. i had a level 5 12 and i built 4 boxes for it and it ended up in a 1.6 cube box and that is when it got the loudest so 8 12s would work about to about the same as the 4 15s in that size box (it would also displace more than the 4 15s but still i think it should be doable any set up you choice would be super sick and look awesome in there man
  13. Got mine in yesterday and LOVING THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. thats your only recourse as a buyer unfortunately. Im sure rusty is just as pissed as anyone. probably more so. Im sure rusty is more pissed than anyone lol i mean ya not many people have gotten their subs but his company has gone almost a quarter with very little income.....
  15. the 3s 4s and 5s have not arrived yet and yes they are still working on the XLs and 2s
  16. lol thank you!! that shits funny
  17. I just got an ipad on sunday and am working on making it work in my dash (03 Sierra) i have done it in an 02 tahoe before and it worked great. I have mine sitting upwards (not sideways) and it slides out the top so i can update it and add music etc when i do it there will be a wood frame that will be fiberglassed to the back of the dash bezel with fabric on the inside. the way that i plan on getting around the charging problem is because i already have an EQ with an aux input ill use that inpud for the ipad and i bought a cable thats ipod conneciton to rca with charging (you just connect it to +/- and it will charge it while still playing music. the other reason why i will be using the aux on EQ is because my HU (pioneer 6300 flip out) wont allow me to control off the ipod itself so it makes having the ipad in your dash not as cool if you cant search through the music etc on it...at that point i might as well leave my iphone plugged in itll do that same thing you know? my point being make sure before you start doing anything make sure that you can do whatever it is that you see as important on the ipad. and make changes from what you find i will be posting pics this weekend of my ipad build when i start it if you want to check it out hope this helps
  18.   this post has made my day !!!! hehehe thanks, glad i could help Not the worst either though lol absolutly right, worst post ever was done by elite designs hahaha, i´m a professional box builder and designer, i´ve designed 3 boxes already lol WOW lol that one is bad haha
  19. iPad going in dash if it likes it or not...

  20. look at the last picture in this album there is a 12" with the 8" dustcap on there
  21. Make sure you have the gain lower than you normally would on the amp and if you electrical is up to par it will should be fine. What makes them blow when running at a lower than recommended ohm load is overheating so you can add a fan on the back of it and/or leave the gain lower than normal. I would say do both...better safe than sorry. I have 2 DC 3.5k amps strapped running at .4 ohm daily with no problems. the gains are love (about 25-30%) and there are fans on the back of each. Hope this helps!
