  1. Yeah...I kind of agree with you here on this one.
  2. Before buying your sub and amp upgrade the alt and battery. Forget the cap.
  3. Yeah they are a 1000 a piece...I did read on here somewhere though when L7s get around 1400 rms they heat up very fast. Will 1500 kill them?
  4. Or I could just stop worrying about this and get a fucking better amp lol. Look at my signiture and you will see why I need a better amp.
  5. lol true. But like would it be a lot louder or not that much of a difference?
  6. So how much louder will 4 12 L7s be than 2 15 L7s?
  7. It was probably one of those guys that thinks they are still 20 lol
  8. No, they use two 60 amp fuses. I have a Crunch 3000 PZI.1 on my 2 Kicker L7 15s and they BEAT. I cant imagine how loud they would get if I actually gave my subs a better amp to power them. lol
  9. Yeah those stinger reducers is what I have. I grinded them pretty easily though and they fit in my amp perfect. But it is a pain in the ass with my cap because I have to shave more. With 0 gauge wiring, there is just less resistence because it is a thick wire therefore more current can travel through it. The more/bigger the wiring, the better.
  10. Ha, for some reason I think you were moving the pool sticks with your hands, and not the BTL.
  11. What is true if you have a good amp?
  12. Yeah I know W7s and L7s aren't really in the same class thus it is hard to compare them but there is a big debate of which is better. Basically what I am getting from this is L7s gernerally get louder but W7s usually have better sound quality and sound better on the lows depending on the setup of both type of subwoofers. If I had a lot of money to spend on subs, sure, I would spend the extra money on W7s. But honestly, I think L7s look way cooler and get just as loud if not louder. Sound quality can always be made up for with a nice box, amplifier, wiring, etc
  13. "why would u put 0gauge on that its overkill" No, it is not an overkill. There is considerably less resistence by using 0 gauge wiring since you are giving the electricity that is flowing through the wiring more space. 4 gauge wire has more resistence because you are trying to pull the same amount of amperage but just in a smaller space. It is actually better for the amplifier to do it this way. I am doing the same thing with my crunch Pzi 3000 . The amp has 4 gauge fittings but I am using reducers. However, I did have to shave down the reducers to get them to fit in.
  14. Yeah its the 4 gauge tip that is not fitting it at all. So I should just grind the outsides down a little bit and that should be fine?
  15. Hey guys, I have some issues. I am about to setup two 15" L7s so I am running one line of 1/0 gauge wire. So today when I went to put the reducers into my cap and into my amp they wouldn't fit even though the fittings on the cap and the amp are 4 gauge fittings. On the package of the reducer, it clearly says it goes from 1/0 guage to 4 gauge. So what the hell is going on? Like, even if I try jamming it the reducer it refuses to go in. These are the reducers I have. http://cgi.ebay.com/Stinger-Gold-0-Gauge-4...ksid=p1638.m118 So any help would be appreciated.
  16. Thanks for the link. I read the thread and that helped.
  17. The solo x is rated 5000 watts rms so why couldn't it continuously take it? Pink floyd, well what would you be throwing at the 15" L7 to make it stench?
  18. I think the Solo X would get louder over the 18 BTL just because it can handle more wattage and it has more cone surface area. I am a newb so what does SQ, and SPL mean?
  19. Alright, I have a new question now. . Fully loaded 18" BTL vs. Solo X 18" Kicker. Which is louder?
  20. So its kind of like buying a Navigator when in fact you could be just as happy with a loaded Expedition?
  21. Why is JL audio so expensive when compared to Kicker? I don't understand why some would spend the extra $200-300 when they can just buy a L7 that is just as much of a beast.
  22. I already have two L7s. I heard both get loud. Some said the L7 gets louder and some others said the W7 gets louder. So wasn't sure.
  23. Oh, the L7 is a 15 inch by the way.
  24. Say you have one L7 getting 1600 watts rms in a 4 cubic box and then you have a W7 with the same setup as the L7. Which is going to sound louder?
