  1. I think we need a sticky on the car audio basics. Us noobs need a resource for our builds. I'm not sure if I want this to be a Q & A forum seeing as we already have one but just a run down of what to do with stuff. For example; I don't know where to run wire. Where do you run power when hooking up your amplifiers? In or under the vehicle? Where at in or under the vehicle? Through the frame or under the carpet? When building a box, should you use the tradition terminal posts that have the push button or should you drill a hole and silicone it shut? Also, little tips posted in here would be nice. Someone mentioned that if you ground the outer ring of your RCA connector to the back of your radio it can cut down on engine noise. Well, that's all. Thanks.
  2. Here. One you get familiar with the program; Import a song. Highlight a section of the song you would like to analyze, can't be longer than 23 seconds. Then go to Analyze ---> Plot Spectrum A little box will pop up. Change where it says 512 to 16384 And where it says Linear Frequency change it to log frequency. Now just roll your mouse over the graph and the read out will be in a box below the graph.
  3. Metallica : One Only kicks but it's phenomenal. Especially if you boost it with Audacity.
  4. Kid Rock - Cowboy has surprisingly good bass. I plotted the Spectrum and it hits at 51hz. Screwed it's at 43hz. That's freaking awesome. Do a demo of your system with some Kid Rock. People would be expecting Jeezy or Gucci but, Uh Unh, It's Kid Rock MuthaFucka!
  5. Beginning 41, 65hz. When it breaks down at about :37 It starts at 87hz and drops ~5hz every time. End, 79hz - 32hz 42hz - 16hz.
  6. I'll dl the track and let you know what the freq's are.
  7. This is a PROTOTYPE, not available for sale subwoofer. It uses an A Kicker 12" surround connected to a 10" Surround from another company and a Boston Acoustik's, I believe, 8"Cone. Check out their website. EDIT: The Link may not work. That IS their correct web address but it doesn't seem to be up right now, check back at a later time.
  8. It'd be like sex with your clothes on. Especially at 20hz.
  9. Yup, Matterhorn. It's supposed to be able to be used for stopping Avalanches. *Re-Enactment* HOLY FUCK! A FUCKING AVA-FUCKING-LANCHE! *Hits Burp button* Oh, O.K., we cool.
  10. T-Line's are awesome, have yet to hear one but I've seen what they can do to some Audiobahn 6" 1/2's Mid's. I can't find the video but they sounded like 15's. Only downside is they take up more space than a traditional ported. I'm going to make my T-Line as soon as I can get my hands on the building materials. Usually a Larger box means lower frequency tuning, but don't quote me on that because I'm a noob.
  11. Non-production model but it has the most excursion. Other than that is beyond me.
  12. "I felt like Nichola Tesla, I just rode the Waves out." Classic. "160 db at the back of your fucking dome." Again, Classic. Steve is the shit, I don't care what anyone says negatively...FUCK THAT! LoL. Good Shit, Steve, Good Shit.
  13. Are you the Rusty I keep hearing such good things about?
  14. What set-up? How many 15's? Were they in a wall? My first initial goal is to at least burp a 145 and bassrace 139 with one 18. No wall in the back of a wagon or a van. DC Be able to do it for me? Second goal is to Bassrace the 49 class. And top it off. LOOOOONG Way's away, I know but I assume 145 is more reasonable.
  15. Anybody have number's on the DC Lv4 Sub's? Not prices, db's.
  16. LOL Support the Sport. It rhymes. I was looking at DC's Myself. LV4 18's. Cheaper than FI's but not sure how they compare. Figured what the hell and I just may buy them.
  17. 30's as in 30hz? I can hook you up with a song that plays that low. Let me know.
  18. Watch This Video. Quite interesting. Let's see if we can make a difference in this world. There is a money making opportunity based on this theory.
  19. If you like Techno bass rap songs check out MC ADE. He has a song called Bass Mechanic which bears a close resemblance to Bass Mechanic by Bass Mekanik. Maybe they are the same person who knows.
  20. Yeah, I hardly listen to my music after I make it. I just let other people do the bumping until I get a vehicle then I'm def gonna demo my stuff.
  21. I didn't want to hassle them If I'm not actually purchasing anything.
