  1. if you have 2 ports, each of the same area as a single port, they need to be twice the length each, not half the length. any box calculator will tell you this.
  2. you'll probably get just as much power running a single amp at 0.5ohm. what frequency were you testing at?
  3. you drew on the diagram that you measured volts AC on the battery terminals. what voltage and current did you measure?
  4. you need to measure the output voltage... how else can you calculate the output power? i did. did what? you've just shown that you measured the input voltage, you need to measure the output voltage. voltage x current = watts
  5. you need to measure the output voltage... how else can you calculate the output power?
  6. if you're clamping 2 amps, you still have two speaker cables running to the sub(s) you can clamp either as its an AC signal anyway, and also measure the voltage across both these cables as well, so you're measuring both amps.
  7. it was even better when he had just quoted himself with the failed link.
  8. impatient isn't the word I would have used... an idiot is more like it.
  9. extend them, its pointless simply soldering them straight to the terminals, they were too short before they snapped, now they're even shorter!
  10. whether you own them already or not isn't going to change the manufacturers published specs... I have no idea why you'd ask this at all! http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/library/2009/4_Speakers/1230-55856-01_Power_FullRange-MAN.pdf
  11. why is that the general rule? who came up with that rule? someone locally followed that rule for an SPL setup, and it failed rather poorly, way too much port area. if you're running entry level 10inch subs, off 150watts each, why on earth would you need anywhere near that much port area. use a program that will plot the port air velocity, keep it below 30m/s and you won't be able to hear any port noise from inside the car, of course open the trunk and unload the woofers and you probably will. but in the OPs case, 4cuft, 33Hz, 600watts total, four 10inch subs, you only need about 30in^ of port area, unlike the 64 - 80in^ that people are telling him he NEEDS! for 600watts? as if!
  12. the speakers nominal impedance will be whatever their nominal impedance is. its normally printed on the box, the back of the speaker, and in the manual
  13. i tend to simply ignore people who think you need a certain port area for the size of the box. you need port area based on what woofers are in the box, and how much displacement they have! you could probably get away with a single 6inch round flared port and not be able to hear any port noise from inside the car, but 3 4inch round ports would be better. of course, I don't actually expect anyone from this forum to agree
  14. lol, there's something really wrong with you people if you think looking at photos of someones family is wrong.
  15. see if she looks the same? see if you can recognise it as the same person? based on her facebook profile pic, I wouldn't know it was the same person at all to be honest
  16. ..yes? Are you in Europe? If you don't know 18 is legal here in the US, not 16. Regardless, have some respect toward the op, and his daughter. exactly. hang on, whats "legal" got to do with anything?!? its a pic, not having sex with someones daughter, what is wrong with you people?!
  17. That's just fucking creepy. Gtfo. I was going to message her and inform her than her father had posted the pics on here, but as she only accepts messages from friends, that won't be happening as added some random would just be creepy.
  18. its ok. by searching for the caraudiofreq's email address, found in his profile, on facebook, I found his profile, and by looking at the photo file names, I found his daughters first name... and she's on his friends list on facebook anyway... you shouldn't make it so easy lol
  19. your load tester appears to be measuring the voltage at the tester, not at the battery. I imagine the voltage drop along those thin cables at 500amps would be quite excessive, would it not?
