Theres to many variables to determine wether u can or not.. It depends on your enclosure and power.. If anything it wont be much of a hairtrick just moving it a little.. Tune low.. And they will be a night and day difference from ur jl's specially if u make a good box

Two big amps looks wayy better than one big amp... i thank im doing a 5k now.. and when i want more power ill probaly get a 7.5k and farther future have 4 xl 18s in a 4th order on 2 7.5ks.. maybe 2 9ks?

Good question. If you want to run at half ohm and rely on rise you better have a stout electrical to put behind it. To me there is NO sense in running a 1 ohm stable amp at .5 in a daily application just to hope you get more power. I can understand in a competition vehicle where you only burp one freq and know all of the variables of your particular install. When playing music your rise is going to change with every frequency in the song. You may be seeing 2 ohms one second and 13 ohms the next. i am aware of that.. rusty has told me he has ran i thank the 5k on .3 all day long.. they all can do that im sure.. yellow top under the hood cause very little internal resistence and iv heard can handle almost unlimited recharge and discharge rates... soo good idea if u ask me.. and 2 or 3 xs3100s

that has some truth cause u wanna match power/gains and filters on the amps so there is no cancellation.. i thank u talked me into a 5k lol.. so wait the master amp gain doesnt set hte gain for both amps when strapped? come on now iv never strapped amps yet but i do believe they share the same gain.. u really been tuned in to kno we were talking about strappin them.. your rediculous lmao

what do u clamp with that xl on the aq2200 cause im gettin 2 xls and thanking about aq2200s strapped @ 1 havent clamped it yet and im still awaiting the XL from DC ill clamp it when i get the sub and let everyone know but that would be a good setup just make sure you have the electrical to back up the .5 ohm load on each amp ya i kno.. yellow top underhood, 250a alt, 2 or 3 xs3100 w/(buss bars), big 3, 2 runs + and -, these are my plans.. so much money for all that but its gotta happen lol i thank that would be pretty solid even with 3.5ks

true but the 2k do more than 2k and plan was strpping to 1ohm (.5ohm each) and hopefully dont rise past 2.5 (1.25 each) i would see 4k.. dc 5k at .5 ohm i would rise somewhere around 2ohm?? meaning like 3-3.5kw.. i like both ideas cause i kno ill end up with 4 xl 18s before long lol.. and 2 5ks or 2 7.5ks would be nice.. so i guess gettin 5k now ill already to set up for the upgrade build.. but my buddy can sell his ab500.1 to me for i thank 800 he said

yes definately a 7.5k or 2 3.5k's would be perfect matches.. but if u dont kno what your doing then just a 5k would be good for you.. whatever u get its going to slap either way.. keep bass boost on 0!! and oscope if possible

you think i should go with the 3's then.? what is your minimum load on the amp? you might want to factor that in as well... 3 dvc have odd final ohm load... im not sure, im not trying and keep it for long anyways. i plan on getting the aq 2200. oh and the final ohm load for the 3 would be 1.34 u might wanna get dual 2s cause it would be .67ohm b4 rise.. so u can see some more power.. how many times do I have to say this? xl's already have the same softparts as a lvl 5.. there ONLY difference is lvl 5 has a bigger motor..

does anybody have videos of these amps being bench tested? or clamped in your set ups?

iv thought about it.. i really dont like that idea thou.. cause it would be weirdly shaped and less of a square or rectangle shape.. and more acoustic resistence inside box verses square or rectangle shape.. ill make the box tall and in between wheel wells with slot port firing at hatch or wall it its a hard decision.. well crap wheel wells are only 38in between i cant fit 2 18s across they would have to be offset cause box thickness is a factor as well.. ill have to build over wells just enough to fit them across. hell idk wall sounds like better plan now!!

no i would love to have that sexy beast but its pricier and 2 amps fight rise better than one = more power.. since im strapping at 1ohm ill rise to around 2-3 hopefully and see rated power from amps or more.. and wiring the 5k to .5 would rise me to around 1.5-2.5 meaning probably 3k verses 4k+ from the 2 amps.. i would like them to see 6k thou

blazer.. i believe its max width is 38in between wheel wells and 30in from back of rear seat and hatch but rear seat is comin out for amp/battery rack

i wanna have some input on wheather to get 2 dc 2ks or 2 aq2200's to power 2 xl 18s.. which will give me more power? cause dc amps seem more efficient and still have same fuse rating.. plan is to strap them @ 1ohm or just run one amp per sub @ .5ohm.. pricing on these amps are very similar also..
