Idk about the new ones but I had an old 8000T or something like that, it could bottom out 2 10" w3's and it was rated like 300rms so id say it did over rated power. But idk if the new ones are any good.

If you are able to wire your subs to 1 ohm then they will play at 1 ohm. Amps are a diff. Story. Edit: ninja'd

Lvl 5 on 2.5k? I think the XL performs better at that wattage if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure someone else more knowlegable can chime in.

It wont hurt them if you set your gains right and arent clipping. If it make you more comfortable to do 2ohms by all means do it.

O and dont turn your head unit all the way up, dont use loud on hu if it has it, dont turn the bass on hu all the way up. Really you should find someone on to help you with all your settings so you dont have problems with clipping.

imo Yes, its worth the extra 50$. Why not get dual 4ohm subs so you can wire at 1ohm. Keep the gain on the amp low and find someone with an oscope/dd-1 and you'll be fine. My advice is to get a good box design from AQ and build it or have someone help you or do it for you.

I would say the alt would be sufficient. What batts do you plan on running? How many? What model subs?

To be 100% i would have to be there. No other way. But taking an educated guess i would say halfway. Why just seems to be a good number, i havnt seen a decent amp clip before halfway yet during testing unless eq on hu wasnt flat. Why do you think i said find someone with an oscope? Just for reference my amp clips at about 5/8 gain on stock alt, 1 agm under the hood and just a big 3 with 5v running via rcas to the amp and this is with a lil over 2500rms so i figured he'd be fine with 750rms setting it halfway till he got to an oscope, unless he had his hu all the way up along with the bass on hu.

Why is half way bad advice? I told him unless their is someone with an oscope set it halfway. Please clarify me slow.? Are u worried about him having an alpine and clippin at 20?

Dude, you will be fine. Unless your clipping. Set your gain at halfway, i highly doubt it would induce clipping at half way. Or get someone with an oscope to set your gains. They could take double power but in your case i will not recommend it, so set your gains on the amp conservatively. Why not roll with everything AQ?

Get either dual 4 or 1 ohm subs so you can wire it to 1 ohms at the amp. Get the AQ amp they are not "max" watts rated. The AQ is a wayyy better decision imo AQ subs and AQ amp . You dont put the gain all the way up, set at at around half way and let those subs bang.(unless someone with an oscope lives near you, to set your gains). GL

Get the AQ 750 and the AQ subs they're great subs, sound good, and will pound really hard. Im running 2 AQ HDC3 12"s they get stupid loud but are not made to be Sound Quality sub theyre ment to get loud. Im sure you will be very pleased with that setup. My advise is to deffinatly build a box or have it made, dont buy a prefab box offline or at a shop. GL

yep, it's 2 4" aeros that are 4.5"s long and thanks, yah he loves it! I say that b/c i needed 4 4" areos for my 2 hdc3 12"s and its only 10.6 sq in of port per cube. Whats it tuned to? 4.5" long Sounds like its tuned really high
