  1. Thanks man, I'll shoot you a PM sometime. I've just grown tired of the lifestyle I've gotten into, most of my friends are either working or in college while I'm sitting at home with nothing to do, no money, scrounging change from under my couch cushions to help support my habits (literally addicted to Monster Energy, Marlboro Smooths, and tattoos). I was always kind of the underdog, the black sheep, if you will, of the family. Always getting dealt the bad cards. I want to change that so desperately and I know if I can do this, it's going to change my life for the best. The school is located in Holly Hill, FL. Right down the road from Daytona Beach! I also caught wind that iASCA is going to be there Spring Break. I have looked into going to the same school. But i am already at a University and dont want to stop going to go down there. but maybe after i graduate i might do it. It seems like an awesome school and I have yet to find a bad review on it!

I have no plan for college after high school which im half way through senior year . I am going to def, look into this school. Im up in minnesota but wouldn;t mind moving. For all that's included in the tuition, it really doesn't seem like a bad investment. It's almost as if it pays for itself! The website is www.installerinstitute.com, from there you can have them send you an information packet and you will some calls from the faculty every now and again. Hell even if the school doesn't work out for you, look at the location! What more could a teenager want!? iASCA competitions, fine ass women, awesome weather pretty much year round, I mean it's like paradise almost!
  3. It looks good! I have a very, very simliar design I drew up about a year ago. It's the same concept as yours, only mine is an hourglass with angel wings and a wrap-around banner with the quote. Just waiting on the funds to have it done professionally. No more garage tatts for this guy! Already had an incident with a misspelling... Hahaha! I'll have to post a picture of it, I know I'll get sh!t for it but it's been fixed already.

  5. My mom has offered to help me pay for college and she wants to take a tour of the facility and the housing before I jump into anything. I've already looked into it a lot and it looks awesome! I honestly cannot wait to go! We plan on taking a tour around May or so and if all goes well, I should be enrolling sometime in the summer. Here's a little bit of information I gathered up: It's a 10-week program which is broken up into 10 courses, each lasting one week. Course list as provided by www.installerinstitute.com Week 1: Intro to formal installations Week 2: Enclosure design and construction Week 3: Beyond basic installations Week 4: Advanced mobile security & navigation Week 5: Complex installations So far- 200 clocked hours Week 6: Leather interior installation Week 7: Advanced fabrication Week 8: Interior panel design and construction Week 9: Painting and metal work Week 10: Intro to home audio installation Included in my tuition is: Books, MESA certification, cost of materials (and I get to work on my own vehicle!), housing which is less than 5 miles from Daytona Beach!, and some other things. Words can't explain how ecstatic I am about attending. I never really wanted to go to college until I found mobile audio. That's when my life really flipped a 180 for the better, my dream is to one day become an MECP MIT. It's going to take a long time to get there, but I know I can do it. The only underlying problem I have is I made a really, really dumb choice and dropped out of school. I try not to carry a lot, if any regrets in my life but dropping out was definitely one of them. If I had the opportunity to rewind time and change that, I would; but then again, we are who we are today because of the choices we made yesterday. What am I going to do about it? Well, since my school district won't take me back to public school since I'm over 18, I'm going to test for my GED. I'll have to build some boxes or something to pay for that, since I've applied to over 30 places with 9 interviews and no job to pay for the test. My next step is to get a temporary part-time/full-time job. Something that will get me some decent money saved up to buy groceries and whatnot while I'm out there. I might as well try and save some money for equipment as well. After all, what good is $8,000+ worth of fiberglass and custom work if there's nothing to drop in it? After I get back, I plan to find a temporary job in a shop to help pay back my mom and the rest of my loans. When I'm finally out of debt (lol), I'm going to work on gathering my equipment and opening my shop. It's been a long, tough road, gentlemen, but I'm pretty positive I found my passion and I'm finally on track to fulfilling my dream. The "wow" factor in this line of work is something I just love. The look on people's faces when you tell them you did all the work on this ride yourself is simply amazing. Anyway, I just thought I'd post to the forums the latest news and how excited I am to share with everyone. If plans turn out, everyone should expect to see a complete interior overhaul on my truck. If you've read alllllllllllllllllllllllll the way to here, I congratulate you! Thanks guys
  6. Found out the preamps on my head unit went bad, so I decided I'd browse around Sonicelectronix.com to see what they had for LOC's. I found one for like $3.99, the Hitron HL250 adjustable 2-channel LOC. After reading the many positive reviews, I figured why not. $7 and some change after shipping wasn't a big deal to me so I went ahead and ordered it. It arrived very quickly, roughly 3 days and I installed it the same day. I've had it in for around 4 months now with not a single problem. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that the instructions look like they were typed up by a kindergartner. They didn't explain how it was to be wired up (even though I already knew how to) and didn't make a single bit of sense and there were many misspellings. Overall, money well spent for a quick fixin' and if anyone is in a similiar situation, I would recommend it! Great product for the money!
  7. You obviously either did not read, or failed to comprehend. Craigslist can be great, but at times between the bumfucks and the lowballers you're only real choice is to wait and be patient. When I listed my T4000s locally for sale, I got offers from $300-$350 and took about 6 months before I even got asking price. Go to events, you might be able to find someone. I edited my post after I realized my mistake. My bad. But last time I checked you don't need to post the subs specs/pictures/asking price for advice of how to sell your subwoofers. I'm sure a "What is a good way to sell my subs? PayPal and eBay have issues", would get the job done. No worries! I just thought it would help a little to give a brief description on them and pictures to show their condition to clarify if my asking price is too high, too low, etc..

Thank you for fully reading my post lol. In my city (Wichita), everybody runs the same equipment. Kicker, LOTS of JL, Memphis, and RF. Some Alpine here and there but I have never seen an Fi, Sundown, DC, or any other less popular brand (I've only seen one DD 9515) out of the 4 years I've been using Craigslist. You're right about having patience, I had a brand new AudioBahn AT2400.1DT monoblock I had on there for $300, $150 less than new price and never used, for 4 months with a lot of hateful "RE:" ads before I got an offer. I ended up selling it for my asking price! The only thing I'm worried about is not being able to move them fast enough and I might've misread, but under the SA-8v.2 pre-order thread in the Sundown category, it said they were available for pre-order for $135 and the regular price is $185. After the pre-orders are done, do you think they'll go back up to $185? Everyone else, I apologize if my post looks like a for sale ad- I just thought I'd post a little information about them to see what you guys think.
  9. I understand this, but I'm not trying to sell them on here. I'm just asking for some input on how to sell these things quicker.
  10. Oh Lord... How about this one?! "Now I ain't wun fah Nicki Manaj, but deez subbs give yu dhat supah bass!!!!!!!!!"
  11. What words have you heard that people say to substitute for "loud"? I've seen Craigslist posts where people say "These speakers kick!" or they thump/bump/pound/slap/twang/bang etc...
  12. Just waiting on my subs to sell now! Once they're gone, you'll have a pre-order for 2 or 3 of these from me!
  13. Or does anyone else on the forums find themselves somehow watching the infomercials on TV at 4AM, wondering to themselves... "Damn, if only I had thought of something so simple first.." ?
  14. Jacob, I was wondering since there is not ventilation on the bottom of the motor unlike the v.1's and the vents have been relocated around the spider landing, does this mean there is no required mounting depth limit? (of course the bottom of the motor won't touch the max. depth of the box )
  15. I've been meaning to ask about this for a while now, but something's up with my power locks. When I was replacing my stereo battery fuse in my truck, I pulled the door chime fuse on accident but I put it back in. After I replaced the stereo battery fuse, my power locks didn't work on either side? The only way they actually work is with my keyless entry but even at that, it's still kind of annoying pressing a button I have to find on my multitude of mini-scan cards and whatnot instead of pressing the switch on the door lol. Any ideas? EDIT*** I was thinking it could be a faulty switch, but why would both sides not work just all of the sudden? I also checked every fuse under the hood and on the inside of the dash and everything was fine.
  16. It's been a while since I've been online, just thought I'd see what's new in the SMDF's? A lot has went down since I was on here last... To start things off, someone busted out the back window of my truck, which wasn't a bad thing anyway because the only thing they took was my camera and I wanted a single pane window anyway. I got my subs updated! I had a 12" Polk Audio DB1240 in a sealed box, and thought I'd test the Craigslist waters to see what I could trade for. Not really expecting a whole lot since the Kansas Craigslist's usually don't have anything worth trading, I got a text from a guy who said he had two 12" Memphis subs with a ported box he'd trade. He didn't really give me much information other than he bought them online only to find out they wouldn't fit in his single cab, and they were 400w. I checked online and saw the Street Reference's were 400w peak. That's what I assumed he meant. I met up with him and he handed me two BRAND SPANKIN' NEW MClass C3's and a 3 cube 32hz box! Just finished installing them and they're incredible, I absolutely love them. Even on my crappy little SPL Dynamics amp, I'm still being heard from 3 blocks away! The box isn't in the best of shape but when I get some more mulah, I'm going to build a 2 cube @ 32hz center console for the rear seats. What's everyone else been up to? Life treatin' y'all good?
  17. This is how I do my rounded edges: At the top of the box where each plate meets, there is a line that seperates the different plates. I use the "draw line" tool and draw a second line that'll make a perfect square on the corner. Then, there's another tool directly to the right of the "circle" tool called "create arc", click on this. For example, if you want to round off the front right corner of the box with the "create arc" tool, click on the top right corner of the small square you created with the "draw line" tool and drag the line to the bottom left of that square and click to end the length. Then, slowly drag towards the front of the box a little outwards and the small dot will turn blue, indicating the midpoint. Click on this to create your arc which will round the corner of the box. From there, you will have a small triangle shaped line outside of the arc'd corner. To eliminate this, simply click on the "drag/drop" tool, click on that triangulated area, and drag it past the bottom of the box and it will erase the corner of the box.
  18. I did one of my boxes with a little paint one time. Since I only painted the baffle and carpeted the rest, I had a little bit of body filler left over from doing bodywork on my Toyota. I just did two thin layers of the Bondo, sanding each layer, and for the final coat I used paper from 100 grit all the way up to 1200 for a smooth finish. Then I layed 3 coats of Candy Apple Green, put my signature on the corner, and did 4 layers of clear coat.
  19. I found out my CD's really don't bump as hard as my iPod does. Now with the aux cable into my iPod with the volume at about 80-85% on the iPod, the output is completely different. I can actually get my (well, what used to be anyway) back windshield to flex. It does help to have a very high quality aux cable as well, I took one from my computer and compared it to my Griffin cable and the difference is night and day.
  20. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy my smokes, especially after a good dinner or with a monster lol. I am gonna try quitting though, I could've probably the system I've been dreaming of by now!
  21. this is the equivalent of some retard watching a youtube vid he knows he doesnt like just so he can talk shit. Exactly! Why would you post to a topic that says "Attention smokers" when you don't?
  22. Finally got beats back in the truck, sound quality is AMAZING!!!
