  1. Haha thanks anyways though. Your other post though already has me wanting new speakers and im really eyeing the ones you picked up. May have to get me a set of those.
  2. Alright so i just went ahead and tried to hook my 18.2 up to my Mixdeck, the amp it uses has rca plus so i just plugged it into the bag of my Mixdeck into the "Booth" input with RCA's and it worked perfectly. I was able to control it through the volume slider and everything so i dont know what the guy was talking about. My next question is, i wouldnt mind using these subs, it would save me from buying new ones, but i bought these from a company who advertises it as a "Home Theater" sub. Would i encounter any problems playing music on it for 4 or 5 hours? I assume its just like car audio and as long as im not clipping the amp and have it sounding like shit i should be okay right?
  3. Thanks for the reply, i dont have any places close to check out subs so i was trying to go over reviews and everything and take a chance. I thought about building my own box and getting a driver for it, but does it matter if i do ported or sealed? Sealed would be ideal because i could go with a smaller box and it would be lighter for moving it around and traveling, etc. I was looking at the peavey sub line but wasnt sure if they were any good. I have a CHT 18.2 sub hooked up to a Dayton 1000 sub amp but the guy i bought the mixer from said it wouldnt work, so im not really sure how to hook up subs and amp when i get them because both xlr plugs on my mixer are used for the PV215'S.
  4. Hey guys, I finally got my Peavey Pv215's in. So far il ike them a lot, the party i was supposed to DJ this weekend got cancelled so i havent got to fully hear them. Right now they are setup in my bedroom and they are loud! With the Peavey's having 2 15's in them the things have pretty good low end, but im always looking for more. Basically im looking for a goof PA sub that wont completely break my bank. Doesnt matter if its active or passive, either way will work. In my Home theater im running 2 18's so i was thinking of maybe 2 more 18's for my PA system, just want something to make the party more enjoyable and the party goers to be able to feel the bass.
  5. Hey guys I have a Halloween party tonight to DJ. First time doing this so im a little nervous, but i currently have a decent set music list set up. I was just gonna see if yall had any ideas on some songs to play. Mainly looking for rap/hip-hop as that is what gets listened to around here mainly. Open to all suggestions though as longs as its good music to dance and hang out to.
  6. Hey man just picked up the Peavey pv215. I know you just swtiched but how did you like them? I know there super bulky but just gonna be using them to dj fraternity parties and stuff. Gonna have them hooked up to a qsc gx5 so just wondering what to expect.
  7. Exactly what I'm doing. Hoping to be a certified personal accountant. That should pay the bills nicely if I can get in with the right people.
  8. I do it during the summer time at my dads shop. It's cool cause I learn new stuff every day (and learning from this site) but you do get burnt out on it quick. My truck has been sitting completely bare besides the driver seat for 2 months because by te time I get off work messing with more stereo stuff doesn't sound fun to me. Edit: also the installs I do are your typical people who say "a probox is the loudest box" and " I want my system to be able to win comps, but I only want to pay 400 dollars." that also burns me out quite a bit because therefore awhile I tried explaining building a box and buying at least decent equipment will make a world of difference. Now I just install whatever it is they say they want and don't try explaining to people like that.
  9. Haha that's understandable. Always somebody out there hating on you no matter what you do. But good luck with the shipments an I'll be looking forward to mine. some people are very passionate about their hatred toward me....you never know. I have people that like the products i endorse, but don't necessarily like me I dont know why really......the ONLY people i have done remotely wrong (and it wasnt wrong in my book), are people that have ripped me a new asshole online for no reason. I rip them a new one right back.....and i become the asshole. Its been that way for a while.
  10. Haha alright man. And no worries on the delay I can't wait to get mine but I think we all undersand that things happen that are out of our control.
  11. Thanks for the heads up man. Are all the dd-1 gonna be signed by you? I pre-ordered mine but it was about 2 weeks after you put your website up so I was just wondering.
  12. Alright thanks guys. My last question is ram_designs made me a build for a 4th order that was for the level 4's. Would this cause any problems using that same box for the XL's? I definitely am just gonna go ahead and do the xl's i just need to get my electrical right. Im thinking the box would be fine for this the box is: 3.6ft^3 for each sealed chamber firing into 11.5 ft^3 tuned to 47 hz in a clamshell configuration. I imagine it will work just fine but just want to make sure.
  13. Alright I was thinking it would take quite a bit more. is there a big difference between dc alts and mechman (not starting a versus type thing but is the 250 dollar price difference for dc justifiable?)
  14. Alright seems like they can handle 2500 watts a piece right? As for my electrical I have a d3100 to put in the back and gonna order a mech an or dc alt haven decided why company (dc went up on prices though :/ ) and I'll be putting as big of a xs batt under the hood. What else do I need for these?
  15. alright thanks, i could have sworn i looked on the DC site and didnt see the xl's there but i guess i was wrong.
  16. Hey guys, just searching the forums today. I had my mind made up on level 4's for my build. Gonnda do 4 15" level 4's, but im thinking i want to go with the XL instead. I tried finding info on them but cant seem to find anything such as how much power they can handle or anything like that. So whats the difference between the XL and a regular level 4. If i end up running 4 of these how big of an amp would be good to run these?
  17. I don't think so either. Plenty of people on her work hard to do good installs and make it look badass to try and win sotm. It's not really fair when someone comes on here offering prizes for your vote to win. It may not be against the rules I just think it really isn't a sotm vote anymore it turned into a "I may win something if I vote for him" type deal.
  18. Yeah im like you i just use my for my iphone also, i was gonna buy some nice ones but i figured since its just for my iphone i didnt need to spend 300 or more and i found this at best buy tried them out and they actually get loud and have good bass so i was happy. Let us know what you end up with though man.
  19. I have a pair of Skullcandys, Mine are the model that have a small little bass amplifier that you can use if you put a double A battery in it. I think they cost me like 80 dollars so there not ridiculously expensive. Im sure theres a lot better out there for 200 dollars but at 80 dollars they sound good and definitely put out some bass. Just something to check out if you want to.
  20. how can i buy one of these? hahahaha apparently someone hasnt been looking around the site for the past month or so.
  21. Alright man i appreciate it, this will be my first time running more then 2 so was just making sure i didnt order something wrong
