  1. where did you route your battery power wire? i can't find a good spot through the firewall
  2. thanks so much ray, i knew you'd come through! is there any way you could PM me prices for 2 sets of these speakers w/o crossovers? (ML 280, ML700, ML1600)
  3. planning on getting 2 sets of Hertz Mille MLK 3 way speakers but without the crossover as i'd be running full active. but Hertz just says 180W @ 1.8kHz 12dB slope for the ML280 tweeters and 100 W Hi-pass filtered 250 Hz @ 12 dB Oct for the ML700 midrange... what kind of power is this? is this max? or continuous? i tried emailing hertz but no response and i know this might be a n00b question but idc i just want to start building. How much power do i give the tweets and midrange?
  4. some stuff was still in the pan/already eaten 4 eggs 6 pieces of bacon 2 bowls of cereal 2 bananas piece o' toast i love my life
  5. ^^^ take that shit to the track before someone gets hurt seriously man, my girls best friend died because of 2 asian guys racing in a 100K mercedes and a 'vette. shes no longer with us and they are unharmed walking the streets, if you have a need for speed take it somewhere safe away from innocent lives
  6. i have the x-overs set on flat and my gains were set with a DD-1 distortion detector (best thing EVAR) and yes the arc will be purchased tomorrow at some point for 15% of retail cost and yeah i have no idea about my polk amp, i mean it sounds clean even when i turn it up but it just doesn't hit low and i feel like it should be a bit louder
  7. i'm not running them off the HU, if anyone buys focals and does that, they should be lynched. i'm just saying i haven't put too much thought into what amps i'm going to upgrade to because i don't know what they're going to be powering as of yet. the polk is not a shitty amp but not a SQ amp by any means.
  8. i was thinking about the bit one as it is a very nice processor but i have the strangest fetish for new shiny things
  9. i don't have any processors YET simply because i'm waiting for the next batch of technology to come out, i was thinking since i have an alpine HU i'd get the PXA-H800. possibly with the RUX controller so it can be standalone without a laptop for the most part. if not i'd go with probably a RF 3sixty.3 whenever the hell it comes out. or if iwas impatient i'd just get a 3sixty.2 haha and i thought i mentioned but i guess i forgot, part of the low volume lows might actually be my doors because its a 1985 bronco, this is part of the reason i wanted to do custom panels, it would clean up everything and make them a little bit more secluded. broncos are not built for SQ but guess who has 2 thumbs and is built for SQ? THIS GUY! and amps, eh i haven't really looked into much yet either. this day and age there are so many companies it won't be difficult to find an amp that will be sufficient to power whatever drivers i end up with. BUT i do already have a pretty good little polk amp pa 500.4 and i will soon be getting an arc audio ks900.6 :yahoo: cause i know how to find good shit for cheap
  10. i want a bit more thump in my doors, right now im running a set of focal 165krx2 components but they don't hit lows very well, and they don't get as loud as i'd like them to. i'm not a huge spl guy but i like loud. on top of that i wanted to do a bit more complex front stage that would blend better with subs and whatnot so i want to do something like the following -selling the krx2s and getting 2 pairs of 3 ways--either hertz or rainbows. MAYBE i would upgrade to krx3 -adding an 8'' in each door--haven't really put any thought about what i would do here but my brother has 4 jl audio 8s sitting around doing nothing so i figured maybe i'd use them, basically an older version of this sub http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=28 and i'm not sure if i would leave 1 set in the factory locations and add a custom kick panel enclosure, or if i would just do custom door panels to hold everything. but the 8s would be in the map pocket location which is separate from the door panel. thoughts? suggestions? bueller? chances are whatever you guys say i should do i'll end up doing hahaha
  11. i have the K2 power 165 krx2, they don't hit the lows too well (maybe if i had better enclosures, i mean they're in an '85) but the highs are SO SEXY. if you want focals but don't want to spend 200% of your life savings, i'd go with the polyglass series, i have the 6x9s in the rear and i was running those only for a while and they take power like beasts and they alone gave me some flex ahaha #ilovethemsomuch
