  1. tuning has to do with net volume, vent area, effective port length. So depending on height and width, your port length can be calculated. Now since you said your ports are 3" in diameter and 16.5 in. High (tall), and you are wanting to figure out the length of the port. Are you using slot ports or circle/aero ports? I am confused. But also, your port does add displacement which needs to be subtracted from your volume as well. And just make your 45's a little bit smaller, they dont necessarily have to be a certain length, width and height, it just seems like 1.61 cu. ft. is a little too much, but it is your box so if you want to go for it. Maybe a diagram would help a little bit to give an idea of measurements with a side and top view design or something. Paint program is what i use to just get the design.
  2. 90% of the male personal trainers are on steroids, fuck that! someone jacks your ipod at the gym after you set it down fora quick second, fuck that!
  3. tell me what you think, comments, changes, i have to send it off in a week My motivation for the summer internship is simply to learn more about electrical engineering while being hands on with different projects. Two years ago I was introduced to car audio because I wanted to put some Rockford Fosgate subwoofers in my car. I was so intrigued in car audio systems that I researched the internet for hours to learn everything I could on subjects relating to car audio. I learned about electrical systems, ohms law, and of course components relating to car audio. At the same time I was in Physics so I was also introduced to circuits, ohms law and how to calculate what the ohm loads are in series and parallel. Since then I have upgraded my car audio equipment by upgrading my electrical system with an Excessive Amperage Alternator (200 Amps) and installing 1/0 gauge wiring to handle the large current draw. Also, I have started projects using fiberglass to build speaker enclosures and researched about how to size the enclosure to frequency tune the box to ensure the bass frequencies sound more precise and clean. In addition to my studies and my car audio hobby, I work two jobs. On Mon., Tues., and Fri., I work at Lifetime Fitness and at Sonic Drive-In on the weekend. I would love to have a job that teaches me new things that I want to learn. I work hard 5 days a week after going to school and would love nothing more than to enjoy a relevant internship on my hobby. Because car audio is relative to Electrical Engineering and I have excelled in my favorite subject, Math, I think Electrical Engineering is the perfect Major for me. I believe this internship will teach me new things everyday and help me to know more about what I love.
  4. I dont want to piss you off, but Why did you post that if you dont know?(the gas comment i am referring to)
  5. yea, i bought a 200 amp alt for 360 for my Acura Integra. 360 covered everything.
  6. i usually get on for 30 minutes every day at like 9-11 o'clock at school in my blow off computer class.
  7. oh okay, as opposed to just positive to positive. Thanks man!
  8. thanks for the help i will take pictures whenever i finish which might not be till the summer but yea... you are teh man
  9. I should clarify on my Tips post that I dry sand with the 80 and the 150. Then I wet sand with the 220. Then I primer and wet sand the primer with 220, then 400. Hey Epicenter i have a few questions for you... On your How to paint interior plastic pieces, the first two sandings you do is with the 80 and 150 grit. and you clarified saying you dry sand. So you use regular sandpaper, (NOT wetsand paper) and sand with 80 and 150 grit, and you do NOT add any water to the plastic piece during this process. Then after those 2 sandings, you wetsand with a 220 grit (this is BEFORE the primer). So you use wetsand paper and water while you wetsand the plastic piece. You do NOT use any drysand paper during this sanding. Then after the primer you wetsand with 220 and 400 grit. So you use wetsand paper and water for both the 220 grit and 400 grit. You do NOT use dry sand paper for this at any time. I just want to make sure all these are correct. I recently dry sanded (used no wetsand paper or water ) with a 80 grit and 150 grit on a plastic piece in my car, then since i could not find wetsand paper in a 220 grit i just used regular 220 dry sand paper grit (it was non clog/clog resistant) and sprayed water on the plastic piece as i sanded with the 220 grit. The plastic piece looks good and feels good. I might wet sand with a 400 grit before i primer it just to make it really smooth (since i do have wetsand paper in 400 grit, thats the only frit i could find for wetsand paper) I went to oreilly's and found SEM Primer but it is not the High Build Primer, so i instead got the Diplicolor filler primer cuz they did have that (you said that primer was just as good anyways so i got it.) i also got bulldog adhesion promoter. Since i have never used an adhesion promoter before i wated to ask, when after do you apply the filler primer. Do you apply the filler primer right after you spray adhesion promoter, od does the adhesion promoter dry and then you spray the filler primer?
  10. yea it all works, some places say two runs others say ground to the frame, i would say its all the same. Rf's forum says to ground both batteries to the metal and kinetik says to have two runs it all works
  11. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...?showtopic=3846 on this diagram are there two runs (so from what i said previously, i infered that the the wire from battery one to the ground is one strand and then from hte first batteries neg. to the second batteries neg is the 2nd run) is that right
  12. what do you mean by two runs of wire? metal chassis to first battery negative , and then first battery negative to second batteries negative? is that what is meant by two runs?
  13. Why cant he save the wire and money and ground both the battery and the kinetik?
  14. the T4004 is a sick amp, the new model, i am going to get it one day.... I am giving my T3002 a guy (powernaudio) who helped me to figure out port length with more complex designs. I dont use it so since he was so nice and willing to help me, i am going to ship it to him sometime this week. Pay it forward
  15. if she drives i dont care, i hate driving all the time. and i hate the mornings.
  16. I dont know if you are referring to a different topic, but that is for his subs. My T3002 put out 950 RMS at 1 ohm and thats at 14.4 on teh birth sheet
  17. So i should be SEM Filler Primer, i will try to order some online tonight Does the High Build part in the title of "High Build Primer Surfaces" mean Filler
  18. I know man, and i know that is why it came out so shitty. Wet sanding is thoroughly spraying down the piece with water to prevent direct contact with sandpaper, thus allowing you to sand lightly in between paint coats. Don't bother with this until you actually start spraying, it hardly sands anything. But once you start painting, it makes a lot of difference in the smoothness of the finish. On EpicenterDesigns' How to it says to wet sand right after you clean the plastic piece off. You wet sand to get the grain out with diiferent grit sandpaper.(80,150, then 220) After the primer is applied then you wetsand lightly with a 220 grit, then a final 400 grit. So according to his How to he says to wetsand even before any spraying. I am going to electrically sand down the pieces to get the paint and primer off, then start from the first step and do it right.
  19. So i tried painting some interior plastic pieces. I got some bubbles rising on some places, some shitty shit on other plastic pieces. I Skipped sanding just because i dont have much time and i duno, im an idiot. I know you should sand. In epicenterdesigns' how to it says to wet sand. What exactly is wet sanding? I mean i got a general idea but yea... Would wet sanding the plastic piece make it have a smoother surface as opposed to just sanding, or would they both have the same outcome on the surface of the plastic?. Should i sand by hand or with an electrical sander? Oh i also did not use filler primer because i didnt have any. So i should definetly get some of that. I am looking for a site on where i can buy Du Pont paint and primer and such. But you know, spring break is right around the corner and i can sand down everything, go through all the steps properly, and have some good work. So that is what i am hoping for.
  20. I just sent my check in the mail, How long did it take people that ordered from them to have thir alternator made and shipped back to them?
