Questions About Excessive Amperage Alt.
Texas Tech replied to Texas Tech's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Excessive amperage sells wire with the ring terminals already attached and the wire cut to the length needed for your car. Has anyone ordered from them or should i jsut buy from somewhere else (Big 3) -

Questions About Excessive Amperage Alt.
Texas Tech replied to Texas Tech's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
so should i ask nathan about a certain pulley to get the maximum idle power needed, would he have soemthing for me or is this mroe of a go to your local car shop and ask them waht they have and they test it to see how much it puts out at idle. I am guessing that you want the shortest in length pulley around your alternator because that will make it go faster -
I am about to purchase a 200 amp alt from EA. I have heard that Ohio Generator,Iraggi, and EA are all good and EA gave me the best quote, 360 dollars flat out, including tax and shipping. I was wondering if anyone knows about how many amps the alt puts out at idle? If i come to a red light, sitting at 800 RPMs at idle and am bumping my music trying to pull 150 amps and the alt only does we will say 70 amps at idle, what will happen. I do not want to end up spending the money only to find out that i screwed it up. Is that when my battery (yellow top or red top not sure yet) and kinetik(probably the one chode has) will come into play? I have heard the term "spike" when you are trying to pull amps you are not capable of pulling, and have heard that is one reason to fuse your Power wire from your alt to your Batteries Positive. Also when it says 200 Amp alternator, i know that means 200 Amp max, but is that at 14.4 Volt? I could be way off here but i am asking. Nathan Peddicord said i could send him a personal check since i do not have pay pal set up, do you think that i would be alright sending it in. Being 17 it just seems like people are always trying to take advantage of you thinking your ignorant, and with all the scams i just want to double check. I have heard reputable things but it is good to be chary of expensive investments. My dad is also not to fond of just sending in a check and waiting. But i must say with all my experience with EA so far, i got the best customer service ever. I think i exchanged 6 emails in one day, and got all my answers i needed to set it off.

What size Alternator?
Texas Tech replied to 01xtreme's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
I would say just get the biggest alt you can get then, big three. I mean what else can you do if you arent going to add a second battery because of limited space. -
DON'T FORGET

yea the money spent sucks, sad to say it since it is for someone i care about but honestly 150 bucks (and this is the cheapest valentines day ive ever had) lame....... -
bascially i went to fiberglassingforum.com and found an awesome how to paint your interior plastics and such but i have a few questions. To make sure your panels are oil free, like from Armour All and shit, wipe them down several times with a wax and grease remover. If they are really Armour All'ed down, use a brake cleaner. Get a bucket of soapy water to wetsand with. Sand the grain out of them with a 80 grit wetsand. Get at least 75% of the grain out. Then wetsand with a 150 - 180 grit. Then move to a wetsand with 220 grit. If for some reason you are odd and like the grain look, skip that part. Clean the panel again with wax and grease remover and also a tack cloth. I suggest wearing latex gloves to keep oils from your hands transfereing to the panels. Spary the panel with an Adheisive Promoter. Follow directions on can. Spray with FILLER primer. As many coats as are needed to fill in all the grain. For small items such as trim panels, kick panels and pillars, SEM makes a filler Primer that is awsome or you can use Duplicolor Grey Filler Primer. They also have a red rust colored filler primer. Avoid it. For some reason it sand horrible. Wetsand that with 220. If you see your self going to deep into the plastic before you are happy with the finish, dry and clean the panel off with wax and grease remover and spray more primer on it. Keep this process till happy. Final wetsand with 400 grit. Clean the panel with wax and grease remover and a tack cloth and then paint. Spray as many coats as you like, 3 is usually plenty, and do it in light coats as heavy will clog and run. Let it dry in the sun if possible as long as you can. Overnight is prefered. If you feel there are some imperfections, wet sand with 600 or more till you are happy. Clean it real good and then spray a clear coat over it. Again in light coats. I try to let the clear coat dry for a couple days for best results. so after you spray with adhesion promoter and filler primer, you sand it again with 400 grit, im guessing you sand really lightly because there wont be much you need to sand down. then you clean it off and spray the paint on there. So you dont add more primer after you sand the 400 grit/before you apply the paint? At the Very last, it says if you are not happy with the outcome of the painted piece, wetsandw ith 600 grit. Clean it and apply a clear coat. So then after you painted it, you sand it with a very high grit, clean it and then add clear coat only? you dont add another layer of adhesion promoter, primer, and paint, or even just another layer of paint only. I would think the finish would look weird if you sanded it down then added a clear coat.I would think after you sand it down with the 600 grit you should put atleast one layer of paint on (if not primer before it) and then added a clear coat. Or would it look okay just sanding it down with 600 grit and a clear coat. And i have heard that adhesion promoter is optional and you only have to use it if the primer doesnt stick...is that right Oh, and why do you wetsand twice, once with 200 grit, and once with 400 grit after the adhesion promoter and primer is applied? After that you you never add primer again, not even before you paint? From some people i have asked, they have basically said to paint interior plastic pieces, sanding it down is optional, then add adhesion promoter (optional, if necessary) then add primer and then paint. You dont even need to sand or add adhesion promoter. Oh and you can add a clear coat if you want. Is adhesive spray and adhesion promoter the same thing?

Okay I am thinking of buying a T4004, putting 2 pairs of speakers on the first 2 channels then using the second two for tweeters What about tweeters at 2 ohms?
-
If you put to 4 ohm speakers into one channel, making it 2 ohms would that be okay (of course with the right power and all)? What would be the bad part about this, what would i lose (if anything, maybe SQ i duno)?

I am trying to find the plasitc A/c Vent piece for my Acura Integra LS 1999 1.8 Liter, hatchback. I have looked at so many online stores for hondas and Acuras and i cant find it anywhere. It is the actual piece that you adjust which way the air blows and if you want it to blow through it or not. I cracked mine when i took it out, it was brittle...lol

Really quick dumb question
Texas Tech replied to BassJunkie's topic in Head Units-Processors and Eq's
Amplifier input power meaning how much power you take from your electrical system, nothing to do with the pre amp voltage the amp is going to put out the same amount of power regardless, the gains may be set differently but the power is all the same. think of it like this The amp is going to put out 300 watts RMS no matter what input voltage it sees, you adjust the gains accordingly. So with your birth sheet and the given efficiency, you can calculate how much power you are actually taking in for your amp to power the 300 Watts RMS. If the amp is 50% efficient, then your amp is actually taking in 450 watts. The pre volt is just to adjust your gains so you can get the maximum unclipped signal. If it is 2V or 4V or 8V with a line driver, your amp will still put out the same power, which means the power that is put into your amp is the same too. -

Texas Tech replied to BassJunkie's topic in Head Units-Processors and Eq's
yes but if you do not change your gains at all, you can have a clipped signal, depending on how you set them before(if they were accuratly set or not) and i thought efficiency of an amp had nothing to do with the input voltage from yoru RCA's i thought it was the input power from your battery and electrical/charging system- the power coming into your Battery Power Wire. Efficieny is amplifier output power/ amplifier input power -
cops have no lives...
Texas Tech replied to Amalan's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
speaking of cops searching your car, my bro got pulled over by a cop for having his tail light out, he didnt have his license so immedietly he went into the back of her car. She searched his truck. He was pissed and hates cops with a passion so he decides to take action. He calls and files i guess a report about the cop, gives the information. Anyways the next day a different cop shows up at our house talks to my brother and tells him what my brother has to do. Appearently the cop didnt like the girl cop that pulled my bro over. My brother had to type the whole scene out, detail for detail and send it to the police station. Later that week the cop resigned... -

work more efficiently? Are you sure it makes the amp more efficient? makes everything louder?(i dont know if that was sarcasm or not ), but i dont think it makes something louder, i dont know if you are talking SPL or something, i could be wrong but i dont think so. I learned from an RF moderator that it will reduce your signal to noise ratio, and allow you to reduce your gains. I would post the site up where he said it if its okay. -

What si teh difference between the pioneer head units and the pioneer premier head units. It seems like the headunits in both are almost identical (some of them)
