  1. Exactly what I'm getting at. A 1500 watt sub running two ohms off a DC 3.5k seems to be a pretty good match. you can save money and just get a amp that does 1500 at 1ohm. but do what you want its your money. how abou this i buy you a amp that does 1500 at 1 ohm and you give me the 3.5k Where do you get that I am complaining about a 3.5k or anything to make you think I don't want a 3.5k? Yeah a 1500 watt amp is good, but after box rise and music dynamics, having some extra wattage is what I'm after. God-damn, does anybody read the first post or do you just read the last few and think you have it all figured out?!

  3. Only looking to run one IA Death Penalty off of the amp, not two.
  4. Different sub, different amp, different power. And my original question in this thread was not about the sound quality difference. And since your so helpful how does a DC 3.5k do 3500 watts at 2 ohms or did I read your first reply wrong???
  5. I'm fine spending money. I just want to stay at two ohms for a little better sound quality. I'm thinking about getting an Incriminator Audio Death Penalty sub which is rated at 1500 watts rms. A DC Audio 3.5k would be an excellent amp for that sub at 2 ohm. That is my thinking anyway. Would there be an audible difference running a sub like that at 2 ohm vs 1 ohm?
  6. If I ran a 3.5k amp at 2 ohm instead of 1 ohm, would I still need the electrical reserve (number of batteries) as I would for a 1 ohm load?
  7. Not 5000 watts to the sub. Right now the amp is seeing a 2 ohm load, so at that load DC rates the 5k at 2300 watts nominal. I want to downsize my amp, but run a 1 ohm load at around 3000 watts to the sub. I know I'd either need a re-cone or new sub to do it. I just want some more power to compensate for rise. I've never run at 1 ohm so I didn't know of the sound would be degraded to the point of not sounding good on music.
  8. Right, but do I need to have the alignment re-done everytime I lower or raise the car with the coilovers?
  9. I just bought a VW Passat and want to put coilovers on it. My question is when the coilovers are installed I'll need an alignment, but do I need to get an alignment done everytime I adjust the coilovers up or down?
  10. Is there a big difference in sound quality of bass from 2 ohm to 1 ohm? I have an AA Mayhem 12" that I'm going to run off a DC 5.0k at two ohms. I want to get a smaller amp, maybe around 3000 watts so I have some extra power, but I need to know if I would sacrifice sound quality by going to a 1 ohm load.
  11. Upload your pics to a free photo hosting site like photobucket and then copy and paste the URL (I think that's it) here.
  12. So, when will the next run off 10.K's be built?
  13. " you cannot gain volts from changing the size of belt." Was that directed towards me? After talking with Mike, he told me it might be belt slipage that was the cause of my alternator problems, which seem to be the same as yours. Mine would not put out higher voltage no matter what rpm my truck was at, did your alt put more out with higher rpm's? If so, then it probably was the pulley and I'll shut up. If not you are having the same problem as me. I wasn't trying to call Mike out or anything. Let us know of you get it figured out.
  14. I'm having the same problem right now. I have tried 3 different length of belts and none of them got the alt over 12.4Volts even above idle. I'm sending mine back so he can test it and see what's going on. O'rielly has been good for getting belts. I've gone in and told them what length belt I need and they go get it for me. And if it doesn't work you can bring it back with your reciept and get your money back.
  15. I didn't take pics of of them, but the surround was wrong where the screw holes are and one of the drivers had a square basket.
