  1. we do too. my dad is restoring his 1968 camaro 4 speed. My dad is doing a 1970 nova. I helped him put on the driver side rear quarter panel. Helped do some matte paint on it too. Its fun. Hes rebuilding the engine, but I dont know much about that stuff.
  2. This was insanely cool. I enjoyed the music and the dancers. Though I do prefer my dubstep a bit more... filthy.
  3. Id go with the sealed for sure, for SQ. Lost a lot of SQ for SPL when I got my first ported box. But I like LOUD vs Quality. I just like to get my backrubs while I drive.
  4. Oh no! I dont want to INCREASE my bass with this! I'm using it to turn it down! haha! But yeah, I need to fix my box, it leaks right now, because the guy that had it before me, mounted shit on it (Other amps im guessing) and now it has holes ALL OVER IT. ... Well on the top anywho. Im gonna use some caulk to fill them.
  5. Thanks a lot man! Lemme know if you drive down! Id love to hear what you have going on! You seem like a SEASONED pro! Really nice build log, btw. I like the amount of sound deadening you used. I have none. Then again, I dont really need it... yet. HAHA
  6. Yeah I have been there 2 or 3 times. I only live about 15 minutes from it actually. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I have gone with some of my pals and it was a neat place to see. Lots of history there!
  7. You sir, have MADE my night. And thats not priced nearly what I expected... (In a good way, I expected like 300 lol.) But I am new to all this! I found some pretty nice prices thanks to this place, on things my local shop has WAY MARKED UP! Nothing against the guy, but hell, Im glad I bought a lot of things used locally, because I would have gotten jipped! But hey they have to make profit to stay open! Thank you for all your help, hotdog! I will be sure to set the amp accordingly, and then use my inline at 100% when I need it, and 0% when I dont! Hopefully this will stop my subs from making the amp PROTECT so much.
  8. I didn't even KNOW charts like this EXISTED! I am very greatful that you showed that too me! Time to bust out the meter and see how close I actually was to setting this thing correctly! Also, if my amp is 1000 watts at 12V, and my car runs at 14V (I think its 14V when turned on? Does that sound right?) Does that mean it actually puts out a little more than 1000? Would 1,100 be safe to assume? Or is there a way I can see its MAX out with the meter? I am new to this, and well, electronics in general, so Im glad that chart has detailed instructions! I know the amp is rated at 12V, since the guy at Horizon told me, (And he seems to be pretty on top of stuff!) and thats why Im asking. I just really want to be able to do things right the first time! Or at least until I can afford a better amp! lol. ( Where would I look to order a SMD DD? I looked on the home page and saw nothing! D: I know theres a waiting list right now, but that just gives me time to save some money!
  9. I believe this is my head unit. Head Unit Specs. It looks exactly, and I mean, EXACTLY like that. So Im assuming thats correct. I dont know the part number off the top of my head. I got it used for 30 dollars, and have had it for a little over 8 months? It has performed great. I use it mainly for the 3.5mm in, to use my IPOD on it. The only reason I wanted the inline, is because I listen to a lot of hip-hop, dubstep, and rock music. My box is slotport, and some of my rock gets a little... drowned out? I just want to turn it down sometimes for different music!
  10. Made my first post on SMD Forums! :D So it begins!

  11. Hey guys. Long time reader. First time Poster. Well, today I got a "In line RCA Gain controller" Basically, I plug the RCA from my head unit, into this box, and out of this box back to the amp. I was wondering how you all would go about setting this up. Would you just leave my amp gains alone (Set by ear, I can't afford much more. ) at around 3/4ths max? Or would I turn the gain on the amp ALL THE WAY UP, and then control it up front, and set it about 3/4ths max up there? I figured I would leave it at 3/4ths in the back, so that way if any of my jackass friends play with it, they dont clip my subs! Just wondering if any of you had some input, or advice, for a newbie! THANKS! This is the EXACT model I have, Amazon Specs. I paid 22 out the door, with a small set of 1.5ft RCA's to add to my headunit. I don't think I did to bad, since he wanted 30 (local shop) and I bargained him down!
