  1. I was talking about the version Toady has from the DJ in Houston
  2. It was worth a shot And Toady, do you think you might be able to share it? (also worth a shot hehe)
  3. Finally got the Zips figured out, thanks to Bigpimpin for the 7Zip suggestion!
  4. Alright man, looking forward to it! Yeah, suppose that's true too...but for some reason I seem to enjoy slowed songs
  5. Only problem with doing this is that when I download a zip it comes out with an iTunes icon. And when I try opening to view it nothing happens :/ I suppose I could try posting screenshots of each step if that might help anybody understand my problem better? And I heard Tommy play that at SBN when I was checking out his truck this past year, was pretty loud
  6. I saved it to desktop and it's not giving me any option to extract files. I'm assuming I need to do something other than save to desktop then?
  7. Does anybody either have any bass boosted or slowed down Michael Jackson? Been tryna look for some clean versions and haven't found any yet. Also on a side note to save some space, could anybody teach me how to download/open Zips properly? Like for Decaf's and Bigpimpin's zips how I would go about downloading and opening all of those songs would be great. Thanks to anybody that can help me with either of these!
  8. Alrighty then, thanks for helping me learn how to use WMP! Suppose I'll try to intentionally find a clipped track and see what it looks like for myself and then go through the songs I play most often. Thanks again for all the help guys!
  9. So basically when that bouncy bar goes out of the frame is when clipping is occuring?
  10. Oh ok, I just didn't know if iTunes music could be automatically considered "clean" in a sense. And I'm trying to use Windows Media Player (first time using) and not having much luck figuring out how to set it to o-scope. Sorry if I seem bothersome
  11. Trying the Windows Media Player right now, I'm sorta what you'd call technologically retarded but I'll give it a shot haha. And would you be able to answer my questions about iTunes songs not being clipped?
  12. So, I've come across this term many times but I still can't figure out what it means. Here are some of the questions I have about it: 1. What is clipping? 2. If you download the song from iTunes, does that mean there won't be any clipping? 3. I've heard that clipping is HORRIBLE for your equipment. I would think this is true, can anybody confirm? 4. How can you tell 100% that a song you have is not clipped? (I read something about Audacity, and yes I do have it) Free interwebz c00kies to whoever can help me learn, thanks!
  13. Oh sweet, I was just working in the Calc (again xD) and I've started coming pretty close to what I'm looking for so I have another question. With the port, is it a good idea to have it bent on the inside? I was having trouble tuning it around 33-35Hz in a ~4.5 ft^3 box without making the port bend. EDIT: Also, how do you get screenshots to show up in posts on here? Sorry, forum noob still
  14. Well yeah, if you can manage to find some better subs for around the same price I'd agree with going for them instead. But if you want 100% brand new untouched subs I'd either stick with getting the Kicker Comps online for $50 a piece or upgrade to the CVR's (not sure of price on those though)
  15. Alright haha, looking forward to checking back later. I think I'm getting the Tuning Calculator getting figured out a little better, still a bit confusing :S (Also didn't reply about the Common Port Walls, everytime I change it it seems to change a few of the numbers)
  16. Also, wouldn't you need to put "3" next to Common Port Walls if you're having the subs on one side/the middle and then the port on one side as well like in your first sketchup picture? EDIT: And you put .1 for Woofer Displacement. Surely it'd be larger than that?
  17. Yeah, I mean I already had a 600W amp to start with from my last box (it all came together-box/2 12s/amp) so I figured this would be a good practice for teaching myself how to do ported boxes. And it's still gonna produce some boom, just no earthquakes yet
  18. Hey Mike, I actually bought 2 Kicker Comp 12s about a week ago for the same price and I plan on using them for my first personal build as well. I just learned how to use Torres' Box Tuning Calculator this past weekend and I've already started drawing up a sketch and some planned dimensions for a ported box (trying to get it tuned to 34 Hz or so atm) so I could let you know how it goes if you want me to. But I'd say that if you're just starting out DIY like I am then it'd be better to start off with something not so expensive. Once you learn how to pull all the different elements together, then I agree with what the other guy said about getting something like DC that'll be a worthwhile investment.
  19. Hey awall, just got a quick question...Once you take into account what bdog said about port area of 12-14 in^2 per sq ft, would you mind posting up a new screenshot of the Box Tuning Calculator? I'm working on a ported box that looks almost exactly like yours (without the bent port + I'll be doing 2 12s) and I just learned how to use the Tuning Calc the other day, and for that matter am just now learning how to calculate box dimensions for my first build. Thanks, and good luck with your build!
