Oh yeah good idea. But I realized I don't have enough port area do I? So should I use 2 aero ports? Or should I just try a slot but I'm not too thrilled with my box making skills so I was gonna try to keep it simple

So I'm making a box for a level 4 15" in the trunk of my 03 Chrysler searing convertible. I was thinking outer dimensions of 35" x 17" x 15.5" all in 3/4 MDF and with a 6" PVC port 28.5 inches long. I think that tunes it to like 29 Hz. I want it to sound good cuz I'm not usin it for comps at all just want a good sounding daily that can get loud. I think I'm going to rear fire the sub and the port and have a 90* bend in the PVC Does this sound like it will work good? This is my first box build so I'm a noob and any help is appreciated. Also any suggestions that will make it sound better would be awesome!

+1 on DC especially with Carbon Fiber dustcaps cuz those a hèlla séxy

I'm wondering what battery would be best for my setup. I have a 600rms watts pioneer amp right now and am going to add an AQ1200D with 1200 rms watts. I was gonna do the big three but wasn't sure what battery to get in addition to the one under the hood. I have a stock 120 amp alt and also wasn't sure how to wire everything thanks!

So do the AR cone surrounds actually help alot? Or is it more the looks and strength of the surround?

I'm thinking that Hifonics amp will clip more than I would want so I decided to go with the AQ1200D and plus it should be more efficient Also probably goin with an 18" (go big or go home I guess ). So what should I make my box specs to? I can fit up to 42inx19.5inx17in. And I'm looking for some SQL I guess so tube around 30?

So could I order come cf caps by themselves and glue it on myself? Or would I need to send it in?

Why would the level 4 want twice that power when even with the upgrade it doesn't handle as much as the xl that is rated at 1500 watts exactly which is what I would run the lvl 4 at

Im gonna put in a sub/subs in my new car using my Hifonics amp w/ 1500 watts at 1 ohm. And I was deciding between a level 4 15" w/ level 5 upgrade and maybe a cf dustcap cuz that looks sexy or 2 level 3 12" maybe with cf dustcaps if money allows but Im not sure how much a level 3 12" goes for since they are out of stock at the moment. Opinions?

I think I'll just play it safe with the level 5 upgrade cuz I guess I dont 100% trust the amp and I also am way far away from being considered an experienced DIYer. Thanks for the input CJ I shouldn't have ever second guessed ya!

Crap my bad forgot to say I wanted the 15" level 4

I am looking to possibly buy a level 4 and I am going to run it with a 1500 watt Hifonics amp. I know that DCs are underrated but I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't destroy the voice coil by giving it too much. I was thinking about the upgrades too, maybe wait for CF cones with an extra spider or a CF dustcap. I don't really want to make the level 5 upgrade for it unless it is a must cuz I'm trying to keep the price down (short on cash you guys know how it goes :/ ). Any suggestions are appreciated!

Does the reinforced surround and carbon fiber dust cap increase power handling? And is there a like stiffened cone option too or am I imagining things haha

Is there anywhere specific that I can see ALL the possible upgrades for lvl 4s?
