  1. So I have been asking and asking about console boxes for my F250. I finally went in sketchup and this is what I came up with. I have 2 or 3 more designs but I think this one is the closest to what I want. It is still a little bit big for My Sundown Z v.2, but I am only running it on a sax1200d. Do yall think I should add some things to the inside to get volume down, just leave it as is, or do a whole other design? I hand calculated the volume and got 2.38 ft^3 after sub displacement and port displacement. The port is 10inches wide by 2.5inches tall by 28inches long which puts this tuned right at 30 hertz I think.
  2. ive never hit 12s no matter how loud I have it turned up but will a d6500 allow me to run my sub and electric fans??
  3. So i have a 2001 F150 that I have a Sundown Z v.2 12 in. The box is 1.8cubic ft at 32hz and It is being pushed by a Sundown SAX-1200d amp. I still have stock alternator and Red duralast battery. Voltage reads 14.4 and up at idle, but does go down a little bit when I play the sub hard. I dont really have problems pushing the sub right now, but I know I need better electrical. I plan on adding electric fans in the future so I need some electrical upgrades before I can. I have Big 3 done in 1/0 welding wire and all the wire to the amp is 1/0 welding wire. Should I just get One big battery and leave stock alt, or add 2 batteries with stock alt, or upgrade alt with One big battery. Give me suggestions on which battery I should get that will fit under the hood of a 2001 F150. Right now im guessing system is 1200-1500rms, but I want to have enough electrical so that I can run 1500-1800 rms and electric fans. What would you all recommend??
  4. dood just start doing this and before long you will be known.. I know im only `16 but idk what i would do if i wasnt texting a girl everyday lol.
  5. try and up it to 500!then go with Skar vvx12, Sundown sa12, or Alpine type r 12 (Dual 4ohm) just use the amp you had picked out KnuKonceptz cca would prolly be alright for you A cheap alpine or pioneer headunit with parametric eq A set of 6.5 components with high sensitivity to run off the headunit if your not running a speaker amp. All that can be found in classifieds at very reasonable prices. My first system was decent but i wanted more and ended up losing money by selling it to pay for my better system. Do it right the first time!
  6. own a kenwood amp that im trying to sell. always done near rated power and gains never maxed out.
  7. btw if 350 is your max, look at some used equipment. better value for the cash
  8. start over. only thing that is decent out of those is the amp. Sorry man, but 350 is not alot for Speakers, Headunit, Subwoofers, and amp. Remember wire is not cheap either. stay away from Boss audio also.
  9. got it all in again and finally got it working right. with subwoofer level at max and my amp at about 3/4 gain, she hits like 400 watts should. i cant wait until my wire gets here and then it will be seeing 1ohm.
  10. yeah, my headunit is pioneer 3200ub. and phase is at 0 on amp. Sub sounded fine with my kenwood 500wattrms and rockford 250wattrms. I just figured i would plug in the sax1200d just to make sure everything works fine before i change impedance to 1ohm. After I got everything in, just my door speakers would play bass until i got to half gain and then sub comes in. It is very very weak even at 1/2 gain.
  11. Yeah i know this is true but I had it on a 250 watt rockford amp at one time and it moved just fine. Now it takes 1/2 gain or more just to even move the sub at all.
  12. so headunit volume at 20 or higher??? and sub LPF on headunit at 80 and Plus 6??
  13. Okay so I finally hooked up my sundown sax1200d just to test it and see if it works. my sub is wired at 4ohms and I wired everything to the amp but it takes over half gain to just make my sub move at all. Sundown Z v.2 sub and yes i know it only puts out 360 watts at 4ohms but it still should be enough to at least sound decent. My settings on amp were: Gain over half way, Subsonic 20, LPF 80, Bass boost 0, Phase 0, and I did not have the bass knob plugged in. Headunit settings are: LPF 80 and sub setting on 0, bass boost 0, sla 4, My regular EQ, and HPF 80. This sub would hit like no other with my kenwood 500wattrms amp at 4ohms. When i plug the sundown in, it takes over half gain just to move the sub at all.
  14. dbr electronics has refurb b stock Sundown sax1200ds on sale for 169 plus shipping
